In this research, statistical durability technique was applied to the design of the attachment of excavators, so that it may satisfy the durability failure rate target, 10%/10000hr. For this purpose, failure data on the web environment was acquired and the real failure rate analysis of the machines released on the market using A/S data was performed to check the failure rate. Furthermore, standardization of Weibull parameters was done from the long-term test of current models for six months. Load Case for FE analysis and solving method were developed. and the correlation factor(α) between the maximum stress range of short-term test and that of FE analysis was standardized. Capacity Wei bull parameters were standardized through the bench test of box-type(cross-section of excavator) butt-fillet weld part as well as the acceleration test of real components. Predicted failure rate was calculated by the product integration of Duty Wei bull function and Capacity Weibull function. For design engineers, permissible stress range for satisfying the target failure rate was tabulated.

Most structure parts of excavator are made by welding. Furthermore most crack problem is also happened in welding area. Simple welding area estimation methods (Nominal stress and hot spot stress method) are applied in many toe area. But those methods are not recommended in root crack area. Linear Fracture Mechanics can be applied in root crack problems in excavator attachment. Welding structure of Box type has initial crack because of closed looped manufacturing process. This method is very effective method to predict crack propagation and detail fatigue failure time defending on crack length. The object of LEFM analysis is to propose more improvement geometry shape in design process and proper penetration of welding material in manufacturing process.

The old electric transmission tunnel over thirty years old in northern Seoul is operated with Ttukdo substation as its starting point and 41km-length since March, 1980, and the trend is an icrease in embedded electric power structures over thirty years old beyond sixty kilometers. If the corrosion occur in reinforced concrete structures, it is considered as the important factor among deterioration factors .By examing the seventy-two cases of concrete carbonation and covering depth in order to analyze the concrete carbonation of electric power structures over thirth years old in Gangbuk-gu, this paper atempts to analyze carbonation coefficient, remaning service life, and concrete carbonation of old embedded electric power structures for reference to predict the concrete carbonation progress.
