Three species belonging to the genus Trapania Pruvot-Fol, 1931 are redescribed from Korea in this paper: Trapania euryeia Gosliner & Fahey, 2008, T. japonica (Baba, 1935), and T. toddi Rudman, 1987. Among these species, T. japonica is newly added to Korean fauna. The genus Trapania is characterized by a pair of extra-rhinophoral appendages on each side of the head, tentacular foot corners, a pair of extra-branchial appendages present around the gill, radula formula N×1.0.1. and consists of denticulated teeth, triaulic reproductive system, and minute spines on the armed penis. Herein, synonyms of the genus Trapania are summarized through a detailed literature review and the diagnostic characters of the genus Trapania are provided. Three species of the genus Trapania from Korea are distinguished from each other based on the color of extra-rhinoporal appendages and extra-branchial appendages, ground color, and distribution range of the brown markings on the dorsal surface. A taxonomic key to the genus Trapania in Korea is provided. In addition, the morphological characteristics of three trapanian nudibranchs in Korea are described and detailed photos of living animal are provided.
A Report on Five New Records of Nudibranch Molluscs from Korea
정대위,김창배,이종락 한국동물분류학회 2014 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.30 No.2
The Korean nudibranch faunal study has been conducted since 2011 and five species including Dermatobranchusotome Baba, 1992, Mexichromis festiva (Angas, 1864), Noumea nivalis Baba, 1937, Hoplodoris armata(Baba, 1993), and Okenia hiroi (Baba, 1938) were newly reported with re-descriptions and figures. Also,Noumea purpurea Baba, 1949 was re-described with illustrations because previous records for this specieswere given without a description. Two congeneric species in the genus Noumea could be distinguished byground color, dorsal markings, color of the mantle edge and gills, and mantle and dorsal marking. In addition, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequences of five species were provided for furthermolecular identification study. Consequently, a total of 43 species have been reported for the Korean nudibranchfauna.

A chromodorid nudibranch species Cadlinella subornatissima Baba, 1996 (Gastropoda: Nudibranchia: Chromodorididae) is newly recorded from Korean water. In this report, detailed external morphology is provided with its colored illustrations. This species is morphologically distinguished from other congeneric species by the following characteristics: the tip of dorsal papillae is pointed with pink pigment; yellow dorsal marking on central dorsum without mantle margin. The Korean chromodorid nudibranchs are composed of 19 species of 10 genera, including Cadlinella subornatissima which is firstly reported in the present study.
A New Record of Myurella nebulosa (Terebridae: Gastropoda) from Korea
정대위,이상화,최영재,박중기 한국패류학회 2015 The Korean Journal of Malacology Vol.31 No.2
We report a new record of Myurella nebulosa (Sowerby, 1825) collected by SCUBA diving from sandy bottom of subtidal zone in Jeju Island in Korea. The specimen of M. nebulosa is distinguished from its congeners by having slightly plump shell, high spire, distinctive subsutural band, deep axial ribs, numerous and shallow spiral ribs, ivory in color. In this report, we provided a brief morphological description and photographs of M. nebulosa. An unrooted phylogenetic tree for mitochondrial cox1 sequences using NJ analysis found Korean M. nebulosa sample was clustered with its conspecific sequences, but clearly separated from M. columellaris that is not easy to distinguishable based on external shell morphology alone.

An aeolid nudibranch species Flabellina athadona (Bergh, 1875) is newly recorded from Korean waters. This species is distinguished from other congeneric species by the following characteristics: translucent white body, deep orange colored digestive glands, plenty of white specks, and a reversed Y-shaped marking on the head between rhinophores and oral tentacles. In this report, we also provide an identification key for the genus Flabellina in Korea, photographs, and diagnostic characteristics of F. athadona. Molecular identification using mtDNA cox1 partial sequences is also provided to help differentiate F. athadona from some of its closely related congeneric species.
New Records of Four Doridoidean Nudibranchs from Korea
정대위,이종락,김창배 한국동물분류학회 2013 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.29 No.2
Specimens of nudibranchs have been surveyed by scuba diving from 9 localities along the Korean coast. By examination of morphological characteristics, four species in the superfamily Doridoidea which are new to Korea were identified, and re-described: Thorunna florens (Baba, 1949), Diaulula sandiegensis (Cooper,1863), Jorunna parva (Baba, 1938), and Doris odhneri (MacFarland, 1966). In addition, radulae of three species were observed and photographed by using scanning electron microscopy. As a result of the study, 16species of doridoidean nudibranch are now known from Korean waters.
