Recently, translational research (TR) in health technology (HT) has been considered as an emerging alternative research system for the improvement of human health. TR from bench to bedside involves a strong bidirectional relationship between basic science discovery and clinical practice. To support R&D planning and policy in HT effectively, the performance of TR programs was analyzed and evaluated in a R&D project on health and medical technology. TR programs were classified into three parts: unilateral TR, bilateral TR and multilateral TR. Bibliometrics and citation analysis were performed to assess research papers and gather information for the performance analysis of TR programs. In addition, both quantitative and qualitative analysis were successfully carried out using ISI Web of Science, Google Scholar Citations, SCOPUS and Knowledgematrix. In conclusion, the performance analysis of TR programs could significantly improve the efficiency of R&D plans, R&D management and evaluation for a safe and healthy life.

목적: 혈전제거술 시 효과적인 혈전 흡인을 위해 개발된 혈전 흡입기구의 유용성을 평가하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 혈전 흡입기구는 내경 30mm의 주사기 형태로 흡입압력의 측정이 가능하도록 하였 으며, 압력 단계는 3단계로 조정할 수 있도록 제작하였다. 실험을 위해 자체 제작한 내경 4mm의 혈관 모델을 사용하여 임상과 유사한 혈전효과를 낼 수 있는 재료를 혈관 내부에 위치시켰으며, 6Fr. 혈전제거용 도관을 사용하여 혈전제거술을 시행하였다. 흡입기구의 유용성을 평가하기 위하 여 흡입기구의 압력 단계별 혈전 흡입에 걸린 시간과 압력 변화의 평균값을 기존의 흡입 방법 (대조군, n=100)과 비교하였다. 결과: 대조군의 혈전 흡입시간 22.4±2.3초, 새로 개발된 흡입기구의 제거 시간은 5.43±1.5초 이었다. 흡입기구의 1~3단계의 흡입시간 1단계 6.49±0.75초, 2단계 5.67±0.57초, 3단계 4.32±0.31초이 었다. 흡입 시 압력은 1단계 552±41.1mmHg, 2단계 645±32.33mmHg, 3단계 687±24.93mmHg이 었다. 결론: 새로 개발된 혈전제거술용 흡입기구의 임상에서 유용하게 사용이 가능할 것으로 예상되며, 추가적인 동물실험과 임상 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다. Purpose: To evaluate the usefulness of a newly developed thrombus suction device (NSD) to improve the limitations of conventional methods in thrombectomy. Subjects and Methods: The NSD was designed in the form of a 30mm-diameter syringe, enabling measurement of suction pressure, and was manufactured with three adjustable pressure levels. For this study, a homef-made vascular model with 4mm- inner diameter was utilized, positioning materials within the vessel to mimic clinical thrombotic effects. Thrombectomy was performed using 6Fr. thrombectomy catheter. To assess the effectiveness of the NSD, the average time and pressure changes for thrombus aspiration at each pressure level were compared with those of the conventional suction method (control group, n=100). Result: The thrombus aspiration time in the control group was 22.4 ± 2.3 seconds, while the removal time with the NSD was 5.43 ± 1.5 seconds. The suction times for levels 1 to 3 of the device were 6.49 ± 0.75 seconds, 5.67 ± 0.57 seconds, and 4.32 ± 0.31 seconds, respectively. The suction pressures were 552 ± 41.1 mmHg for level 1, 645 ± 32.33 mmHg for level 2, and 687 ± 24.93 mmHg for level 3. Discussion and Conclusion: The newly developed suction device seems to be useful for thrombectomy and additional animal experiments and clinical studies needs to evaluate to feature study.
