        학교 교육 바우처 운영과정에서 관리주체들의 역할 분석 - 방과후학교 자유수강권을 중심으로 -

        The aim of this paper is to examine what the operating principles underlying the education voucher system are in theory and to explain what MEST(Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology), LEAs (Local Education Authorities), and individual schools do in operating the education voucher system and what role they play in the education voucher service provision. To achieve the research purposes mentioned above, this study employs a literature review and a case study methodology, including in-depth interviews. It is found that individual schools have not considered the learning environments each student recipient faces, in that they have prohibited provision of special programmes beneficial to student recipients – the worrying so-called ‘labelling effect’. Also, authority for programme allocation is not clearly defined between government, LEAs and individual schools, meaning that some schools have effectively been prevented from operating the voucher system, and also each individual party (LEAs, schools) has tended to interpret guidelines on the system arbitrarily and implement them for their own benefit without reference to precise policy goals and intentions.

        A Corpus-Based Study of the Use of Shell Nouns as Cohesive Devices in Korean EFL Writing

        The current study examines the use of shell nouns in argumentative essays written by Korean EFL college writers. Shell nouns are a group of abstract nouns that require lexical realization in order to establish full meaning of the nouns. Fact, problem and reason are the representative items of shell nouns. Using a corpus-based method, this study analyzes shell nouns in EFL written production in terms of cohesive devices. The result indicates that both the total frequency of shell nouns and the use of shell nouns with demonstratives move closer to that of the native group, as L2 proficiency level goes higher. In addition, the qualitative analysis discloses that the L2 writers use shell nouns as exophoric references and deploy shell nouns without elaboration. It is also shown that, regardless of L2 levels, the EFL writers underuse demonstrative and shell noun phrases in sentence initial position, which is critical to establish cohesion for argumentative essays. It indicates that Korean EFL learners also have difficulties in using the cohesive property fitted into argumentative writing. These findings provide pedagogical implications that can be applied to second language writing instruction.

        개발지원 관계망 특성이 조직사회화의 학습 및 태도 결과에 미치는 영향

        This study regards the process of organizational socialization as the developmental phenomenon of relationships with multiple developers. Accordingly, the study substantiated how developmental network characteristics affect the learning and attitude outcomes of organizational socialization from a network perspective. For this, an empirical analysis was conducted of early career workers as the targets of organizational socialization. In addition, a multilevel model was applied by stages in order to verify the validity of the relationships among developmental network characteristics, the learning outcomes, and the attitude outcomes of organizational socialization, as well as in order to analyze the effects of developmental network characteristics on the learning and attitude outcomes, and the mediating effects of the learning outcomes on the attitude outcomes. Especially applying multilevel model was attributable to the necessity of consideration for organizational factors to investigate the effect of developmental networks on organizational socialization. The summary of analysis outcomes is as follows. The size of network showed positive effects toward all of the attitude outcomes in the study, while the average tie strength had positive effects just on job satisfaction and organizational commitment except for intention to remain. In addition, these effects on the attitude outcomes were mediated partially by the learning outcomes, except that it was the perfect mediator of the relationship between the average tie strength and organizational commitment. Furthermore, the study confirmed that consideration for organizational factors are necessary and a few organizational factors should be allowed for, in order to analyze the effects of developmental networks on organizational socialization.

        한국인 영어교사의 교사효능감에 영향을 미치는 관련 변인 탐색

        The present study explores the relationship between teacher-efficacy and selected teacher variables, such as teachers' demographic variables, self-efficacy, English proficiency, and teacher training experiences, of Korean English teachers. The study employed four questionnaires including Sherer et al.'s (1982) General Self-Efficacy Scale, Tschannen-Moran and Woolfolk-Hoy's (2001) Teachers' Sense of Efficacy Scale, Chacon's (2002) Self-Reported English Proficiency Scale, and background information. The participants of the study were 120 Korean English teachers. The main findings of the study indicate that the participants' standardized English proficiency scores exerted no significant influence on their teacher-efficacy. Yet, the teachers' self-assessed English proficiency levels accounted for a significant amount of additional variance of their teacher-efficacy after controlling the variance explained by their self-efficacy, suggesting the significant impact of teachers' positive assessment of their own English proficiency on their teacher-efficacy, regardless of their actual English proficiency. The study results also suggest that teachers' professional training experiences generally contribute to their teacher-efficacy. Discussions and suggestions for future research are provided.

        Role of radiotherapy in local control of non-AIDS associated Kaposi's sarcoma patients in Korea: a single institution experience

        Purpose: There has been no definite consensus on standard treatment, either local or systemic, for the Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS). Radiotherapy (RT) can be a good local therapeutic choice especially in non-AIDS associated KS (NAKS) for its indolent behavior. Materials and Methods: Medical records of 17 KS patients treated with RT at the Seoul National University Hospital from February 1998 to January 2012 were retrospectively reviewed. One human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)+ patient with 3 lesions was excluded. The total number of the lesion was 23 among the 16 patients. The median follow-up period was 27.9 months. Correlation between response and variables was analyzed using the logistic regression model. Median age of the patients was 75 years. All the 23 lesions were located at the extremities. Fourteen (61%) of those had pain or local swelling as the initial presentation. Ten patients had possible causes of immunodeficiency and were regarded as iatrogenic, and other 6 were classic KS. Median dose of RT was 36 Gy. Results: No KS-related death was observed. Excluding 2 with short-term follow-up only, complete response and partial response were obtained in 2 (9%) and 19 (73%) lesions, respectively. Of those, 3 lesions underwent local progression. Six had out-of-field recurrence after RT. Symptom improvement was achieved in 13 (93%) of 14 patients. Grade 2 skin toxicities were found in 9 lesions but all got improvement after treatment. When divided into responsive and progressive group, free from progression was not related to any of the possible variables. Conclusion: RT is effective in local control of NAKS resulting great response rate.

        "성장기 학생들에게 필요한 영양소를 공급하고, 우유 소비기반을 확보해 낙농산업의 안정적 발전을 도모"하려는 학교우유급식의 취지는 한일 양국뿐만 아니라 모든 나라에게 동일할 것이다. 같은 뿌리를 두고 맺힌 열매의 맛과 모앙이 제각각이듯, 학교우유급식도 목적은 같지만 그 내용과 조건이 나라마다 다르다. 학교우유급식을 실시하고 있는 여러 국가 중에서도 일본은 우수사례로 손꼽힌다. 비슷한 외양, 다른 구조를 가진 일본의 제도를 배우고자 지난 12월 14일부터 18일까지 4박 5일간 해외 학교우유급식 우수사례 조사(낙농진흥회 주관) 일환으로 북해도를 시찰했다.
