Symmetric (DD, AA1?AA5) and non-symmetric (DA1) porphyrin derivatives were synthesized through McDonald coupling of bispyrrole 2D, 2A1?2A5 with the corresponding aldehyde 3 or diol 6 as a key step. The UV?Vis spectrum and CV of those porphyrins were measured and analyzed for band gap and HOMO?LUMO energy. With the electron withdrawing group, the band gap of porphyrins PP was increased and that of metalloporphyrin PP?M decreased. The HOMO level of PP and LUMO level of PP?M were more lowered than the LUMO of PP and the HOMO of PP?M, respectively. The LUMO level of all PP and PP?M was lower than that of P3HT (?2.80?eV) and all HOMO energy of PP and PP?M was higher than that of PCBM (?6.20?eV).

The purpose of this research is to investigate the influence of the utilitarian attributes and hedonic attributes of a product on satisfaction and delight empirically. The results showed that as the met-expectations of hedonic attributes (sensual/supplementary attributes) increase, promotion emotion was generated at the level of high arousal. Promotion emotions include emotions such as surprise, excitement, and cheerfulness, all of which significantly influence delight. It was revealed that hedonic attributes are a consumer emotion that mediates the influence on delight. On the other hand, as met-expectations of utilitarian attributes, which are functional/compulsory attributes, increase, prevention emotion was generated at a level of low arousal. Prevention emotions include confidence and security, and the findings pertaining to these emotions revealed that utilitarian attributes are consumer emotions that mediate the channel to satisfaction. Additionally, on the basis of the expectancy disconfirmation paradigm, it appeared that when the expectations of hedonic attributes are high, this generates prevention emotion which influences satisfaction. Thus, contrary to existing research, it was revealed that hedonic attributes influence satisfaction as well as delight. On the other hand, it was verified that utilitarian attributes are not able to influence promotion emotion significantly, which confirms the difference between utilitarian attributes and hedonic attributes. In other words, hedonic attributes influence both satisfaction and delight while utilitarian attributes only influence satisfaction and do not significantly influence delight and promotion emotion, which is a preceding variable for delight. Moreover, satisfaction and delight are outcome variables which significantly influence the measured future behavioral intentions. As preliminary exploratory research, these research results can help to build a foundation for future research on delight by verifying a model for delight in Korean circumstances. Marketing practitioners can also seek effective consumer delight strategies that improve hedonic attributes rather than utilitarian attributes to impress consumers.
