This study aimed to compare the physical properties of 4 kinds of calcium silicatebased cements (CSCs): 2 kinds of powder-liquid mix type (RetroMTA® [RTMX] and Endocem® MTA Zr [EZMX]) and 2 kinds of premixed type (Well-Root™PT [WRPR] and Endocem® MTA premixed [ECPR]) CSCs, respectively. Further, we assessed the setting times, solubility values, and compressive strengths of the cements. The shortest setting time was observed for EZMX (123.33 ± 5.77 seconds), followed by RTMX (146.67 ± 5.77 seconds), ECPR (260.00 ± 17.32 seconds), and WRPR (460.00 ± 17.32 seconds), respectively. The highest solubility was observed for WRPR (9.01 ± 0.55%), followed by RTMX (2.17 ± 0.07%), EZMX (0.55 ± 0.03%), and ECPR (0.17 ± 0.03%). Furthermore, the highest compressive strength was observed for ECPR (76.67 ± 25.67 Mpa), followed by WRPR (38.39 ± 7.25 Mpa), RTMX (35.07 ± 5.34 Mpa), and EZMX (4.07 ± 0.60 Mpa). In conclusion, the premixed type CSCs (WRPR and ECPR) exhibited longer setting times compared to the powder-liquid mix type CSCs (EZMX and RTMX). The solubility test showed that ECPR had the lowest solubility while WRPR had the highest solubility, with a statistically significant difference between them (p < 0.0083). Additionally, the compressive strength test showed that ECPR had the highest compressive strength, while EZMX had the lowest compressive strength, also with a statistically significant difference between them (p < 0.0083). ECPR is a promising material as it is premixed, eliminating the need for mixing time, and it has also demonstrated improved solubility and compressive strength, making it a potentially favorable option for clinical use.
The Moderating Effect of ROA on the Relationship between ESG and Firm Value: Evidence from China

This paper investigates the relationship between environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and firm value in China, focusing on the moderating effect of return on assets (ROA) as a proxy for financial performance. Analyzing data from listed companies in China’s A-share market spanning 2018 to 2020, we first find that ESG performance is positively associated with firm value. Secondly, we show that this positive association is more pronounced for firms with strong financial performance, suggesting that the market might place less emphasis on ESG performance if financial performance remains subpar. Lastly, our study reveals that the moderating effect of the relationship between ESG performance and firm value is less pronounced for state-owned enterprises (SOEs) than non-SOEs. This phenomenon stems from the perception that SOEs possess greater stability due to government support. Our study highlights the need for firms to balance ESG performance with financial performance.
RAPD 분자표지를 이용한 Codonopsis 속 식물의 유전적 다양성 분석

Codonopsis is a genus containing 42 species of perennial herbaceous plant in the family Campanulaceae. They are widely distributed in Asia, mainly in Korea, China, Japan, Afghanistan and the Himalayas. Studies of Codonopsis species have been conducted primarily on C. lanceolata and C. pilosula in Korea and China. However, research on these species is insufficient now. In this study, a total of 60 Operon’s primers were tested and 18 RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) molecular markers were selected to identify genetic variations in the Codonopsis species. Genetic variation was calculated for 10 Codonopsis species using the 18 RAPD molecular markers, and the relationship and genetic diversity of these species were analyzed. These studies would be helpful for various genetic studies and species discrimination of genus Codonopsis.
병사 착용형 시스템 제어를 위한 음성인식 기반의 운용자 인터페이스 설계

딥러닝 기술의 발전과 함께 음성인식 기술의 급격한 향상이 이루어지고 있으나, 오프라인의 음성인식 기술은 아직까지 명령어 수 등에 있어 제한적으로 적용되고 있다. 병사의 운용 환경은 인터넷 연결이 제한되며, 병사의 임무 수행 중 손을 사용한 시스템 조작이 어려울 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 병사의 운용환경을 고려한 오프라인 음성인식 기반의 운용자 인터페이스 설계 방안을 제시한다. With the development of deep learning technology, speech recognition technology is rapidly developing. Nevertheless, offline speech recognition technology is still applied with a limited number of commands. The soldier"s operating environment does not have an internet connection, and it is difficult to operate the system by hand during a mission. In this paper, we propose a method for designing an user interface based on offline voice recognition considering the operating environment of soldiers.
pH, Ion Release Capability, and Solubility Value of Premixed Mineral Trioxide Aggregates

The current study aimed to compare the pH, solubility value, and ion release capability of premixed mineral trioxide aggregates (MTAs) versus conventional pulp capping materials before and after setting. The following materials were used: resin-modified calcium silicate cement (TheraCal LC®, TLC), resin-modified calcium hydroxide cement (Ultra-BlendTM plus, UBP), and 2 kinds of premixed MTA (Endocem MTA® premixed regular〔 EMPR〕 and Well-RootTM PT〔 WRP〕). The specimens of each material were prepared before and after setting and were immersed in distilled water. The materials’ pH and solubility value were assessed. Next, three kinds of ion (calcium, sulfide, and strontium) released by pulp capping materials were evaluated via inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. In the after-setting group, the pH of TLC and UBP decreased. However, the pH of the premixed MTAs increased with time. TLC released a higher concentration of strontium ion compared with the other materials. Meanwhile, EMPR released a significantly high concentration of sulfide ion (p < 0.05). In the after-setting group, the 2 kinds of premixed MTAs released a significantly higher concentration of calcium ion compared with the other materials (p < 0.05). In the after-setting group, EMPR had a significantly low solubility value (p < 0.05). The Kruskal-Wallis test, followed by the Mann-Whitney U test with Bonferroni correction, was used in statistical analysis. In conclusion, resin-modified calcium silicate cement, modified calcium hydroxide cement, and the 2 kinds of premixed MTAs had an alkaline pH and low solubility value and they released various concentrations of ions after setting.
인간이 숲에 미치는 부정적 영향에 대한 소재를 담은 그림책에서 나타나는 생태소양

본 연구의 목적은 인간이 숲에 미치는 부정적 영향에 대한 소재를 담은 그림책에서 생태소양이 어떤 양상으로 표현되고 있는지 살펴봄으로써, 그림책을 활용한 생태소양 교육의 가능성을 확인하고, 이와 관련된 기초자료를제공하는데 있다. 생태소양의 4가지 분류(머리/인지적, 마음/감성적, 손/활동적, 사상/관련성)를 기준으로 각쪽수별 글과 삽화를 분석하였고, 행위 또는 사고의 주체를 3가지 유형(주인공, 주인공 외 인물, 묘사) 기준으로 구분하여, 4가지 분류별 하위 내용의 포함 여부에 대해 쪽 수별 등장 빈도 및 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 인간이 숲에 미치는 부정적 영향에 대한 소재를 담은 그림책에서 생태소양의 4가지 분류(머리/인지적, 마음/감성적, 손/활동적, 사상/관련성)를 묘사하는 양상에 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내고 있었으며, 3가지 유형의 행위 또는 사고의 주체별로 생태소양의분류 유형이 나타나는 양상이 구분되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 손/활동적 생태소양의 범주가 다른 범주의 생태소양보다 상대적으로 적은 비중으로 제시되었고, 행위 또는 사고의 주체가 주인공일 때가 주인공 외 인물, 묘사일 때보다 대부분의 생태소양 요소들이 많이 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 숲 관련 그림책을 통한 생태소양의 교육에 있어 4가지 분류영역에 대한 균형 잡힌 교육을 구상하는데 있어서 시사점을 제공한다.

A variety of bamboos are known for a large portion of the life of Koreans, including pulpwood, timbering, and medicines. In this study, the antiviral and antimicrobial activities of hot extract from knots of Phyllostachys bambusoides Starf, the major species of bamboo in Korea, were comparatively evaluated. The antiviral and antimicrobial activities showed strong inhibition in a plaque assay and agar diffusion method. These results suggested that many Phyllostachys bambusoides Starf resources contain antiviral and antimicrobial substances. We recommend further preclinical and clinical studies on the studied compounds to find a potential therapeutic targeting various viral and bacterial in the near future.
