This study is aimed at inquire into the relations between perception of crowdedness of a sports event participant and customer behavioral intention. As for the object of this study, this research set up 540 participants in the International Marathons(S International Marathon, D International Marathon, and G International Marathon)as its population. In relation to its data processing, this study tested individual hypotheses after confirming the test of “goodness of fit” for a model using SPSSWIN Ver.14.0 and AMOS 7.0; its results are as follows: First, the higher a sports event participant’s perception standard of crowdedness is, there appeared a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Second, the higher a sports event participant’s perception standard of crowdedness is, there appeared a positive effect on customers’ re-visit intention. Third, the higher a sports event participant’s perception standard of crowdedness is, there appeared a positive effect on the perception of service quality offered by a sports event.

This study intended to check on the value and directionality of sports journalism through examination of news programs covering Vancouver Winter Olympic and has come up with following conclusions. Firstly, news reports covering Vancouver Winter Olympic had their focus consistently on the results of games. They had no regards whatsoever to international politics surrounding the Olympic game nor did they take any interest in cultural and social significance associated with the Olympic venue. The broadcast news reports were only limited to the results of popular games and ensuing analysis thereof. Secondly, reports concentrated only on gold medalists. Despite the fact that Olympic is an event meant to realize its spirit of peace and harmony by virtue of sports, our news reports centered heavily on Korean gold medalists. Thirdly, news reports covering Vancouver Winter Olympic disclosed lack of substantial balance among different news programs covering respective games. More specifically, some games were reported more often than not via stand-alone programs while others covered only as part of general report programs. This resulted in differences in terms of the quality of news programs. Fourth, there were cases in which provocative languages were used in reports. As mentioned earlier, sports journalism takes it granted for dramatic elements to a certain extent. Even such case, however, should not deviate from the general principles of journalism.
프로야구단 프런트 조직구조가 커뮤니케이션에 미치는 영향

이 연구의 목적은 프로야구단 프런트 조직의 조직구조가 커뮤니케이션 미치는 영향력을 규명하여 스포츠 조직분야의 학문적인 토대를 구축함과 동시에 프로스포츠 구단의 조직관리에 실천적인 모델을 제공하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 국내 8개 프로야구단에서 근무하는 구단 종사자(프런트 직원) 191명을 대상으로 하였다. 설문지는 구조화된 설문지를 이용하였으며, 신뢰도는 조직구조 .59-84, 커뮤니케이션 .89의 수치를 보였다. 자료처리는 SPSS 12.0 통계프로그램을 통하여 상관관계분석과 단계별다중회귀분석을 이용하였으며, 그 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 조직구조와 커뮤니케이션은 상관관계가 인정되었다. 둘째, 프로야구단 프런트 조직구조인 공식화(+), 집권화(-), 보상지원(+) 그리고 의사결정 참여성(+)은 커뮤니케이션에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치며, 이 중에서 의사결정 참여성이 가장 큰 영향을 미친다. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of professional baseball teams structural characteristics on the communication. The research subjects consist of 191 workers of eight Korean professional baseball teams. Survey questionnaire is used to attain the objective of this research, and research is conducted after securing viability and reliability. For our statistical test, correlation and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were carried out to verify the hypotheses developed in this study. The analysis results support the conclusions to be summarized below. First, the relationship between the organizational structural and communication has partially approved. Second, formalization(+), centralization(-), compensation(+) and decision-making(+) systems, which are the structural characteristics of professional baseball teams, exert statistically significant effect on official communication. Among these, decision-making(+) system exerts the most significant effect.
