The purpose of this study was to explore ways in which character education is practiced in secondary school athlete clubs. Two coaches participated in this project. Data were collected through in-depth individual interviews and non-participant observations. Inductive category analysis was employed for data analysis. Three themes emerged: i) although the two coaches recognized the importance of character education, none of specific strategies were used ii) more focus was placed on students athletes’ academic achievement rather than character development iii) burden for winning, unstable employment and negative perspectives on students athletes and athlete clubs acted barriers to practicing character education. A range of character education programmes for student athletes, exploring factors for coaches’ professionalism and effectiveness of coach learning community are suggested as future research. 본 연구의 목적은 중학교 운동부에서의 인성교육 실천 양상을 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 인성교육을 실 천하는 중학교 운동부 지도자 두 명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 심층 면담과 비참여관찰을 통해 수집된 자료는 귀납적 범주 분석 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 두 연구 참여자 모 두 인성교육에 대해 중요하게 생각하고 나름의 방법을 활용하고 있었으나 구체적인 방법을 사용하고 있지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인성교육보다 학생선수의 학업 성적에 많은 신경을 쓰고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 성적에 대한 부담, 열악한 처우, 학교 운동부에 대한 부정적인 인식이 인성교육 실천에 어려 움을 주는 요인으로 나타났다. 논의에서는 운동부 인성교육을 위한 접근 방안과 운동부 지도자의 전문성 확장을 제안하였다. 학생선수 대상 인성교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과 탐색, 운동부 지도자 전문성 요소 도출, 코치학습공동체의 전문성 개발 효과 탐색을 후속연구로 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effective operation cases of e-School for student-athletes and to derive policy insights through this. To achieve this, two student-athletes who effectively utilize e-School in their academic studies and two supervising teachers responsible for each student’s athletic club were selected as research participants. The data collected through in-depth interviews were analyzed according to the coding process presented in the grounded theory. The results are as follows: First, e-School was effective in compensatory learning and academic achievement experience for student-athletes. Second, effective internal factors were e-School learning content sufficiently aligned with the respective school curriculum and the functions of mock exams and unlimited learning. Third, effective external factors were student athletes' motivation for learning and a friendly learning environment. Based on these results, the effectiveness of e-School as a learning tool, the need for providing learning experiences that reflect the characteristics of student-athletes, and the need for various reforms to create a friendly learning environment for the school athletic club were discussed.
옹호연합모형(ACF)을 통한 학생선수 e-School 정책 분석과 발전 방향 탐색

본 연구는 학생선수의 학습권 보장을 위해 시행되고 있는 학생선수 e-School 정책에 주목하여 학생선수와 관련된 정책 변동 과정을 분석하고 학생선수 e-School의 발전 방향을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 옹호연합모형을 사용하여 학생선수 e-School 정책이 나오기까지 학생선수와 관련된 정책 변동 과정을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 학생선수 e-School 정책은 학생선수의 학습권 보장을 위한 온라인 학습 기회 제공이라는 표면적인 목적을 가지고 있지만 1960년대부터 이어온 엘리트 선수 육성 정책과 2000년대부터 꾸준히 제기되는 엘리트 체육계 체질 개선이라는 두 가지 큰 차원의 갈등에서 파생된 정책 변동 과정으로 이해되어야 한다. 따라서 학습의 기회를 제공하는 동시에 현장의 정책 순응적 분위기를 도모하고 일선 관계자인 교사나 지도자, 학부모의 협조를 끌어내는 등의 정책 운영이 동반되어야 하며, 미래 인재 양성의 방향에 부합하는 맞춤형 온라인 학습환경을 조성할 것을 제안하였다. Purpose: This study concentrated on ‘the student-athlete e-School’ that provides student-athletes with accessible education, and aimed to analyze the process of change involving the policies for student-athletes and investigate the improvement measures. Design: To trace ‘the student-athlete e-School’ policy within the advocacy coalition framework(ACF), big issues, events and social structures concerning the student-athlete were examined contextually in ‘the student-athlete e-School’ policy. Findings/ Values: ‘The student-athlete e-School’ policy should be understood based on the process made by the conflicts within the elite athlete raising policy since the 1960s and the social requirements of the elite sport system reform since the 2000s, even though the formal purpose of this policy is to give student-athletes the opportunity to take online courses. Therefore, this study suggests that the implementation of this policy ought to be accompanied by the creation of policy adaptation ambience, the creation of a cooperative framework of teachers, coaches and parents, and the preparation of a customized online-learning environment suited to fostering future talent.
Electron Emission from Robust CNTs Grown by Resist-Assisted Patterning

We developed novel carbon-nanotube field-emitter arrays (CNT-FEAs) with a resist-assisted patterning process using dc-plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). Through this method, we obtained a CNT very strongly bonded to the substrate. The CNTs were grown at -600 V bias to the substrate electrode and a +300 V bias to the mesh grid, being placed 10 mm above the substrate holder electrode. The structure and the electrical properties of the CNTs were strongly related to the growth time. The length was decreased after 80-minute and the diameter increased with the growth time. The electron emission current increased with growth time. The growth mechanism, the electron emission characteristics and the mechanical robustness are discussed.
