Purpose: To prospectively evaluate four magnetic resonance sequences [ProSet, fluid attenuation inversion recovery (FLAIR), balanced turbo field echo (B-TFE), T2 Drive] for the lumbosacral plexus and its branches. Materials and Methods: Ten healthy volunteers who underwent four MRI sequences on lumbosacral area were evaluated for image quality (1 to 5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent), the number of visualized bilateral spinal nerves from L2 to S1, the overlapping vessels obscuring the plexus (1 = many, 2 = some, 3 = few), and image quality defining spinal nerves (0 = nonvisualized, 1 = poor, 2 = moderate, 3 = good). Results: The ProSet (mean = 4.2, range 3-5) and B-TFE (mean = 3.7, range 3-5) showed better image quality than others. The number of visualized spinal nerves was the largest on ProSet image (mean = 9.2, range 8-10). FLAIR (mean = 2.1, range 1-3) and T2 Drive sequences (mean = 2.1, range 1-3) discriminated the nerves well from the vessels. The main branches of the lumbosacral plexus were well visualized on both ProSet (mean = 2.9, range 2-3) and FLAIR images (mean = 2.6, range 1-3). All of these were statistically significant. Conclusion: ProSet is the best sequence in the evaluation of the lumbosacral plexus and its major branches while FLAIR can be a complementary sequence for the evaluation of nerves overlapping vascular structures.

Hyperintense acute reperfusion marker (HARM) without diffusion abnormalities is occasionally found in patients with an acute stroke. This study was to determine the prevalence and clinical implications of HARM without diffusion abnormalities. There was a retrospective review of magnetic resonance images 578 patients with acute strokes and identified those who did not have acute infarction lesions, as mapped by diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). These patients were classified into an imaging-negative stroke and HARM without diffusion abnormalities groups, based on the DWI findings and postcontrast fluid attenuated inversion recovery images. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores at admission, 1 day, and 7 days after the event, as well as clinical data and risk factors, were compared between the imaging-negative stroke and HARM without diffusion abnormalities groups. Seventy-seven acute stroke patients without any DWI abnormalities were found. There were 63 patients with an imaging-negative stroke (accounting for 10.9% of 578) and 13 patients with HARM without diffusion abnormalities (accounting for 2.4% of 578). The NIHSS scores at admission were higher in HARM without diffusion abnormalities group than in the imaging-negative stroke group (median, 4.5 vs. 1.0; p < 0.001), but the scores at 7 days after the event were not significantly different between the two groups (median, 0 vs. 0; p = 1). The patients with HARM without diffusion abnormalities were significantly older, compared with patients with an imaging-negative stroke (mean, 73.1 years vs. 55.9 years; p < 0.001). Patients with HARM without diffusion abnormalities are older and have similarly favorable short-term neurological outcomes, compared with the patients with imaging-negative stroke.

Users' demands on the building form are changing in variety. These demands include reasonable building form, harmonious composition with surroundings and esthetic satisfaction that could be brought by personal tastes and preferences. In addition, models that are introduced from designing process and from various forms tend to lack objective decision making standard. Accordingly it is difficult to find a clear alternative plan and process. In an effort to solve these problems, the objects of this study are; to propose an analysis model of building form and space by using image process techniques that are on study in the field of artificial intelligence based on acquisition of digital image and to verify the application possibilities and efficiency of such analysis model. A matrix model for the building form was produced through the proposed analysis model, after which the experiment was carried out. From the form analysis, an influence from linear elements such as edge detection analysis was found. From the building form model analysis, an efficient analysis method proved to be that of light and shadow of building, i.e. binary image process algorism. For these analyses, multiple regression equation that can make quantification of intensity of light and recognition amount extracted from transformed images is used. The transformed images are obtained from independent variable evaluation content standards (edge detection, thinning, binary, block binary) with the matrix model formed from single element transformation as their objects.
딜레마구간 의사결정 지원 서비스를 위한 로봇카 기반의 개념검증 모형 시스템

최근 들어 DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication), WAVE(Wireless Access for Vehicular Environment) 등의 무선 네트워크 기술을 기반으로 고속 이동 중인 차량의 운전자에게 안전 정보를 제공하기 위한 연구개발이 활발히 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 무선랜 기술을 기반으로 하는 딜레마구간 의사결정 지원 서비스를 위한 로봇카 기반의 개념검증 모형시스템의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 소개한다. 제안하는 모델 시스템은 무선랜 인터페이스를 탑재한 임베디드 리눅스 기반의 로봇카 및 차량탑재장치 에뮬레이터, 운전자의 동작을 모사하기 위한 안드로이드 기반의 원격조종기, 신호제어기와 신호시스템을 모사하기 위한 노트북 PC, 노변기지국을 모사하기 위한 무선랜 AP(Access Point)로 구성된다. Recently, research activities to develop services for providing safety information to the drivers in fast moving vehicles based on various wireless network technologies such as DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication), IEEE 802.11p WAVE (Wireless Access for Vehicular Environment) are widely being carried out. This paper presents a proof-of-concept model based on a robot-car for Dilemma Zone Decision Assistant Service using the wireless LAN technology. The proposed model system consists of a robot-car based on an embedded Linux OS equipped with a WiFi interface and an on-board unit emulator, an Android-based remote controller to model a human driver interface, a laptop computer to run a model traffic signal controller and signal lights, and a WiFi access point to model a road-side unit.
