The change of serum cholesterol level in fasting rabbits induced by the oral administration of Deer Horn (cervus unicolor) decoction were colorimetrically determined. Increase in seruem cholesterol level resulting from fasting was lowerd by the decoction, although the action was relatively slow. The deer horn decoction was supprsed to prevent the reduced lover function of the rabbits under the fasting state.
시뮬레이션을 이용한 광주광역시 지하철 운영계획에 관한 연구

This study is concerned with the operation planning in Kwang-ju subway. The operation planning in subway that one is electronic car operating interval time, one other is the number of trailer car. The evaluation criteha of alternatives is average queue time of passenger and the degree of congestion in the trailer car. The alternatives of operating planning and the experiment of alternatives is presented in this paper by simulation with ARENA. The results of experiments, electronic car operating interval time is 3.5 minutes and the number of trailer car is four in 2004 year.

This study is concern to determine production capacity for rack production system using simulation. In rack production system, generally, the production capacity is determine by the number of operatior and the time of operator, that is decision parameters. The fourth-four alternatives that is eleven alternatives to the number of operator and four alternatives to the quaranty of production is simulated in this study. The overhead cost is decision criteria in the selection to alternatives.
원발성 식도 소세포암과 폐 편평상피세포암이 병발한 중복암 1예

Double primary cancer means that more than two cancers with different origin exist independently in an individual. The diagnosis of double primary cancer was determined by following criteria. Each of the tumors must present a definite picture of malignancy, each must be distance, and the probability of one being a metastasis of the other must be excluded. Primary small cell carcinoma in the esophagus is relatively rare, and rarer when it is combined with other malignant disease. A review of the Korean medical literature failed to reveal any previously described the case of syn-chronous double primary cancer of primary esophageal small cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of lung. Recently, we have experienced a case of double primary cancer, a 65-year-old man with primary esophageal small cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of lung, which were diagnosed by endoscopic biopsy and bronchoscopic biopsy. (Korean J Gastrointest Endosc 2002;25:137-141) 원발성 식도 소세포암은 전체 식도 악성 종양의 2% 정도로 매우 드문 종양으로 임상 양상이 다른 식도 종양과 유사하여 병리 소견으로만 진단할 수 있다. 다발성 원발성암, 혹은 원발성 중복암이란 한 환자에서 2개 이상의 원발성 종양이 동시기 혹은 시간을 달리하여 발생하는 것으로 최근 평균 수명의 연장과 진단기술의 발달 등으로 그 발견 빈도가 증가하고 있다. 국내에서 식도의 원발성 소세포암은 여러 보고가 있으나, 식도의 원발성 소세포암과 동반된 폐 편평상피세포암의 중복암에 대한 보고는 없다. 저자 등은 연하곤란을 주소로 내원한 65세 남자 환자의 상부소화관 내시경검사에서 식도 종괴가 발견되어, 조직생검을 시행한 결과 소세포암종으로 확인되었고, 폐 병변을 배제하기 위하여 시행한 기관지내시경 검사 및 조직생검에서 폐의 편평상피세포암으로 진단한 원발성 식도 소세포암과 폐 편평상피세포암의 중복암 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고한다.
人蔘, 桔梗, 및 遠志 Saponin에 對한 毒性比較 (第一報)

As a preliminary study on Panax ginseng, the saponin fraction of Panax ginseng, Platycodon grandiflorun and Polygala tenuifolia were extracted and purified to compare with toxicities in animals. Gypsophila saponin was used as the standard. Following were the results; 1) In fish the toxicities of saponins less intense from Ginseng and Platycodon were, while those of Polygala and Gypsophila were remarkable. 2) Hemolytic action of Ginseng saponin in defibrinized blood of cows, guinea pigs rabbits and rats was weak, which, however, was increased in order of Platycodi, Gypsophila and Polygala. 3) LP5n in mouse were; 275±52.0mg/kg. with Ginseng, 367-1-52.05mg/kg. with Paltycodi, 111.9±23.0mg/kg. with Gypsophila and 31.05±4.55mg/kg. with Polygala respectively.
