Antibacterial Activity of Ulva lactuca againstMethicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)

The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the marine green algae Ulva lactuca was examined against gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, and a fungus. The ethyl-ether extract of algae exhibited a broad-spectrum of antibacterial activity, but not antifungal activity against Candida albicans. In particular, the U. lactuca extract showed strong activity against the bacterium methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This result confirms the potential use of seaweed extracts as a source of antibacterial compounds or as a health-promoting food for aquaculture.
The Effects of Export Insurance on Value - Added Export

Proper measurements of international trade activities aremuch in demand as a result of the emergence of global supply chain. In previous studies, the value-added trade is relevant to the discussion about intermediate goods.With the value-added export of Korea, we study the contribution of Korean export insurance to export promotion. In this paper,we focus on the short-termexport credit insurance to examine the effects of the export insurance on the value-added export. As ameasurement of export,we consider the value-added export to study genuine contribution of the Korean export insurance toKorean export. Our empirical evidences are three folds. First, we have found some supporting evidence for the contribution of export insurance to the export promotion when we measure export by using the value-added export. Secondly, our results also suggest that driving force of the value-added export is quality-demand by export destination countries. Thirdly, the value-added export increases by less than the gross export when the export insurance increases. In sum, we suggest that the effect of export insurance on the value-added export should be addressed in a differentmanner fromthe effect on the gross export.

This is a study on the establishment of airworthiness certification system fitted for korean military aircraft acquisition and export. Based on the investigation of US civil & military airworthiness system and analysis of the real state of domestic military aircraft acquisition, this paper offers some ideas that can be helpful to establish laws and organizations to certify airworthiness. Particularly this paper suggests that the best way to build airworthiness certification laws/guidelines and technical criteria, the optimal organizational structure which is decentralized by dividing administrative certification authority and technical research center.
Kinetin(6-Furfurylaminopurine)의 葉面撒布가 桑樹의 生長 및 生體內代謝에 미치는 影響

Effets of Foliar spray of Kinetin on the growth and metabolism of mulberry tree was investigated in this studies. The results are summarized as follows; 1. Appropriate level of Kinetin for the optimal growth of mulberry tree was 100ppm. 2. In the non·fertilizer, N,P,K, and N+P+K treated plots supplemented with Kinetin, the growth of mulberry tree was generally promoted, especially in the roots, in comparison to non-supplemented plots. The effect was notably outstanding in the N, and N+P+K treated plots. 3. The mechanism by which the growth of root is stimulated was fundamentally attributed to the hypertrophy of unit cells. 4. The chlorophyll contents of the leaves in the Kinetin supplemented plots were higher than that of the non-supplemented, especially in the N, and N+P+K treated ones. 5. Likewise, total sugar contents of Kinetin supplemented plots were higher than that of the non-supplemented. Particularly the N+P+K treated plots showed higher level of sugar contents. In other plots, there were no significant differences in the level of sugar contents. 6. The activity of GOT and GPT was higher in the Kinetin supplemented plots, particularly in the N, and N+P+K treateated. 7. The contents of ascorbic acid were increased in plots with Kinetin supplement in the order of N+P+K>potassium>Nitrogen>phosphorus≥non-fertilizer. 8. Difference between Kinetin treatment and non·treatment was not recognized in the contents of inorganic and organic compounds.
