The domestic earthquake monitoring system for High-speed railway(HSR) detects the acceleration data at the locations of lower part of pier and deck of viaducts and bridges, while foreign system do at the ground surface. Amplification of ground motion occurs at the members of bridge by the dynamic effect of structure, thus foreign operation standards for earthquake based on ground acceleration need to be modified for domestic application. In this paper, several Gyungbu High Speed Railroad bridges are modeled using 3-D frame elements and seismic response of bridge subjected to artificial earthquake based on design response spectrum and past earthquake records are obtained. Feasibility of domestic operation standards for HSR during earthquake is verified and its modification is proposed.
