The plane stress fracture toughness for thin aluminum alloy(2024-T3 and 7075-T6) specimens are characterized by using compact-tension (CT) specimens. Anti-buckling plates were fabricated on both sides of the thin CT specimens to prevent the buckling phenomena which caused by the 45.deg. C plastic yielding at the crack tip under the plane stress condition. The plane stress fracture toughnesses determined by three different procedures are compared with each others. The plane stress fracture toughnesses are also compared with a few published values which were determined by using center-cracked panel specimens.

This study analyzed the impact of Higher-order resources on profit sustainability for domestic companies using a mathematical statistical model. Higher-order resources refer to resources that do not directly affect profits but influence other resources that directly contribute to profits. As a result of analysis using 30 years of actual data from more than 650 domestic companies, the average duration of competitive advantage including high-order resources was found to be about twice as long as the period suggested by the autoregressive model excluding high-order resources. Through this, if companies want to earn more profits over a long period of time than their competitors, they must not only possess resources that are more valuable, rare, difficult to imitate, and non-substitutable compared to their competitors, but also that higher-order resources can contribute to changes in these resources over time. It was confirmed that it must lead the long-term profit difference. High-level resources include strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) capabilities, and good forecasting.

The oxidation treatment of several carbon materials with a sodium chlorate and 70 wt.% of nitric acid, combined with heat treatment, were attempted to achieve an electrochemical active material with a larger capacitance. Among pitch, needle coke, calcinated needle coke and natural graphite, the structure of needle coke and calacinated needle coke were changed to the graphite oxide structure with the expansion of the inter-layer. On the other hand, the calcinated needle coke after oxidation and heating at $200^{\circ}C$ has exhibited largest capacitance per weight and volume of 29.5 F/g and 24.5 F/ml at the two-electrode system in the potential range of 0 to 2.5 V. The electrochemical performance of the calcinated needle coke was discussed with the phenomenon of the electric field activation and the formation of new pores between the expanded inter-layer at first charge.
