Fish samples were collected by a set net from April to December 2020 at the coastal waters off Tongyeong, Korea to determine fish species composition and seasonal variation. A total of 330,675 fish (1,032,578 g) representing 56 species belonging to 39 families were collected during the sampling period. The dominant species were Engraulis japonicus, Trachurus japonicus and Trichiurus japonicus, which accounted for 98.1% of the total number of individuals and 87.5% of the total biomass collected. E. japonicus and Chelidonichthys spinosus appeared every month off the coast of the Tongyeong. Cluster analysis based on the number of individuals of fish were classified into two groups at the dissimilarity level of 57%, and the results of ANOSIM analysis revealed significant differences in community structure among the two groups. 연구는 2020년 4월부터 12월까지 우리나라 통영 연안 정치망에서 어류 종조성과 계절변화를 파악하기 위해 채집하였다. 조사기간 동안 39과 56종 총 330,675개체(1,032,578 g)가 채집되었다. 우점종은 멸치(Engraulis japonicus), 전갱이(Trachurus japonicus), 갈치(Trichuus japonicus) 3종이 전체 개체수의 98.1%, 전체 생체량의 87.5%를 차지하였다. 통영 연안에서 매달 출현한 종은 멸치, 성대(Chelidonichthys Spinosus)였다. 개체수에 따른 군집분석은 비유사도 57%의 수준에서 두 그룹으로 분류되었으며, ANOSIM 분석 결과 두 그룹 간의 군집 구조에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The effects of micro-alloying elements such as Ti, Nb, Al, Cu on corrosion properties were investigated. The intergranular corrosion attack(IGC) was examined with several tests such as strauss test, EPR(Electropotentiokinetic Reactivation), 40% HNO₃etching to find out the optimum of the stabilizing ratio(=(Ti+ Nb)/(C+N)). The effects of A1 and Cu were studied with inclusion analysis, corrosion tests, passive film analysis. The minimum stabilizing ratio was 9 and the dual stabilization was required to more effectively prevent intergranular corrosion attack. The addition of A1 and Cu improved crevice corrosion resistance as well as pitting resistance. The effect of A1 and Cu could be explained with decrease of area fraction covered by inclusion and redeposition of Cu, respectively.

In a specific forming application of kitchen ware, such as a deeper sink, type 304 stainless steel requires good drawability and stretchability. The formability of type 304 stainless steel sheets is decisively influnenced by the alloy composition. This paper describes the alloy design of type 304 stainless steels for the improvement of formability at the lowest cost. With the aid of a regression analysis model, the modified type 304 stainless steel have been developed for the specific forming application. The calculated results from the regression model have a good agreement with the measured results from the commercial forming operation.

The effects of boron and titanium on the hot ductility of 18Cr-8Ni austenitic stainless steel which was annealed at various soaking temperatures were investigated. Boron addition up to 54ppm increases hot ductility of this steel. Ti addition with small amount increases hot ductility slightly, however, more addition beyond 680ppm reduces its ductility significantly. The fracture crack by high temperature tension test was initiated and propagated mostly at r/δ-boundary or grain boundary. The cracks are, therefore, initiated and propagated earlier at the higher b-ferrite content. As δ-ferrite dissolution rate increases at lower soaking temperature within the range of 1230-1300℃, the hot ductility increases at lower soaking temperature.

This study conducted underwater visual census (UVC) and eDNA metabarcoding to survey fish fauna in the coastal waters off Busan (Cheongsapo) and Ulsan (Bangeojin), Southeast sea of Korea, after which the two survey methods were compared. A total of 49 species were identified in Cheongsapo (eDNA metabarcoding: 29 species; UVC: 29 species) and 60 were identified in Bangeojin (eDNA metabarcoding: 43 species; UVC: 30 species), which accounted for 70 species in both areas. Except for 13 species without GenBank sequence data, 80% of the species detected using UVC were detected through eDNA metabarcoding. In addition, eDNA metabarcoding enabled the detection of 33 species that were otherwise not detected by UVC. Thus, eDNA can be used to conduct fast and wide fish diversity surveys and is applicable to microhabitats in coastal areas. Therefore, eDNA could become an important complement to traditional surveys for monitoring marine biodiversity.
