L-세포에 감염시킨 Rickettsia typhi의 전자현미경적 관찰

This experiment was performed to study the replication and morphogenesis of R. typhi in L-929 cell. The infected L-929 cell were observed at time intervals with indirect immunofluorescent technique and transmission electron microscopy. The following results are obtained. 1. R. typhi in cytoplasm of L-929 cell was observed at 48 hours postinfection with indirect immunofluorescent technique and transmission electron microscopy. 2. R. typhi replicates by binary fission in host cytoplasm and is released from host cell by disruption of host cell membrane from cellular injury. 3. The replication of R. typhi in L-929 cell is maximum at 4 days after infection. 4. R. typhi degenerates in poor environment ; vacuolation, plasmolysis, uneven distribution of electron dense intracellular particles.
Development of 3D CFD model of compact steam methane reforming process for standalone applications

The demand for sustainable energy has increased with growing concerns of environmental damage. H2 hasattracted considerable attention as a clean and renewable energy carrier that can be used in fuel cells. Industrial H2 hasbeen manufactured to produce synthetic gas in large-capacity plants using steam methane reforming (SMR). However,a compact H2 production system is needed that maintains production efficiency on a small scale for fuel cell applications. In this study, a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics model of a compact steam reforming reactorwas developed based on the experimental data measured in a pilot-scale charging station. Using the developed model,one can predict all the compositions of the reformate produced in the reactor and simultaneously analyze the temperaturesof the product, flue gas, and the reaction tube. Therewith, case studies were conducted to compare the H2 productionperformance of the eight different structures and sizes of the proposed reformer. Based on the results, a designimprovement strategy is proposed for an efficient small-scale SMR process.
Vibrio cholerae균 증식에 있어서 Ferric Citrate가 미치는 영향

This study was performed to find a method of more high isolation rate of Vibrio cholerae from contaminated foods and the carrier of cholera. Ferric citrate, an ingredient of TCBS agar that has been used most freguently as a selective media for identification of Vibrio spp., was known to inhibit growth of enteric bacteria than Vibrio species. So, We investigated the effect of the ferric citrate on the growth of Vibrio cholerae 1. The growth of Vibrio cholerae was not inhibited in agar plate medium including low concentration of ferric citrate but Vibrio cholerae was inhibited in medium containing high concentration of ferric citrate. 2. TCBS agar medium was not suitable for isolation of Vibrio cholerae.
