생물학에서 진화론의 역할에 대한 인식 향상을 위한 교사교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용

많은 생물학자들은 진화론이 생물학에서 중심적이고 가장 강력한이론임을 주장해 왔다. 이에 본 연구는 진화론의 생물학을 통합하는역할에 대한 인식을 향상시키기 위한 교사교육프로그램을 개발하고그 효과를 확인하였다. 교사교육프로그램의 내용 요소는 ‘진화 수용향상’, ‘진화 개념 강화’, ‘진화의 통합성 인식 및 실천’의 3단계로 구성하였고, 방법 요소는 교육현장 실천성, 체험 및 활동, 자기성찰과 동료평가, 팀별과제 해결, 원활한 질문과 피드백으로 하여 총 6주(18시간)용 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발한 프로그램의 효과를 검정하기 위해H대학교 대학원생인 현직 생물교사 6인과 예비 생물교사 7인을 대상으로 교사교육을 진행하였고, 단일 집단 사전 사후 검사 설계 방법을사용해 효과를 검정하였다. 그 결과 개발된 교사교육프로그램은 진화의 가치를 반영한 생명과학 수업이 진행되기 위한 발판인 교사의 인식변화에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 프로그램을 경험한 교사들은 진화의과학적 타당성에 대한 의심을 버리게 됐고, 진화를 과학 지식으로서수용하였다. 또한 과학적으로 진화 기작을 설명할 수 있는 능력을 갖추게 되었으며, 전반적인 진화 지식의 향상 및 진화에 대한 관심 증가는교사가 진화 지식에 대한 자신감을 가질 수 있게 하였다. 교사들은진화가 갖는 생물학에서의 중요성과 통합적 역할에 대해 분명하게 인지하고, 이러한 관점으로 생명과학 수업을 진행하는 것이 학생들의흥미와 이해를 돕는 방식이라는 것에 동의하게 되었다. 교사교육프로그램을 통해 진화의 통합적 역할을 인지하고 이를 수업에 반영하겠다는 실천의지를 보인 교사들이 실제로 학교 현장에 돌아갔을 때, 이를효과적으로 반영하고 있는지에 대한 연구가 후속될 필요가 있다. Many biologists and various educational associations define evolution as a unifying theme as well asa central idea in biology. In this study, teacher education programs were developed as 18-hour courseson understanding the unified role and significance of evolution in biology, and their effectiveness wastested. As factors for the program content, enhancement of the acceptance of evolution, reinforcementof the conception of evolutionary theory, and recognizing and practicing evolution as the unifying natureof evolution were considered. Hands-on activities, self- and peer-evaluation, and projects based on thesmall teams including frequent questioning and feedback by instructors were considered methodologicalfactors. Six in-service biology teachers and seven pre-service teachers took part in the programs of thegraduate school of H university to testing their effectiveness. They were effective in improving theacceptance of evolution, the understanding of evolutionary mechanism, the perception on the unifiedrole of evolution. The programs also induced a positive change in self-evaluation for knowledge ofevolution and perception on importance of evolution in biology. Subsequent studies on whether thechanged perceptions of the teachers who participated in the programs reflect on their biology classesin secondary schools after finishing the graduate program are required.
비진화단원 수업에 포함된 생물 교사들의 진화적 설명의 인식 과정에 관한 질적 사례 연구

Biology teachers`` perspectives of the role of evolution in biology have been known to be generally weak. This study investigated whether teachers have included biological evolutionary perspective in biology teaching not the title of evolution and they have been examined whether or not selfaware of it. In addition, the study is to identify whether they were eventually realized the inclusion of the evolutionary explanations in their biology lessons through in-depth interview. It was inductively explored the overall process as a model. For the study, the acquaintances of four biology teachers who are willing and able to provide their files recorded the teaching were sampled and had to send one of their lessons of not the title of evolution. After analyzing their teaching content transcriptions qualitatively, all the cases were appeared to explain biological phenomena as an evolutionary point of view. As files explained with evolutionary point of view were edited and were replayed during in-depth interviews, the teachers who did not realize they taught evolution despite teaching not the title of evolution with the evolutionary respect were aware of the idea that they had used evolution as the foundation of their biology lessons as well as they had explain biological phenomena with evolutionary perspectives during biology teaching. This study summarizes the teachers`` awareness change process model consisted of two-step for evolution lesson. Based on the model, the development of the teacher education program to improve teachers`` perspectives of evolution as a theory that integrates biology is to be expected.

Malignant schwannoma is a malignant neoplasm of nerve sheath cells. It develops in a solitary fashion or associated with Von Recklinghausen disease. We experienced a malignant schwannoma in a 20-year old man with Von Recklinghausen disease. The lesion was gure, irregular, cystic and solid mass with septations in the right retroperitoneal region, inferior to the kidney. The histologic findings of retroperitoneal and pulmonary mass was compatible with malignant schwannoma. Incomplete excision due to infiltration to the adjacent tissue, radiotherapy and combined chemotherapy were performed. We report a case of retroperitoneal malignant schwannoma associated with Von recklinghausen disease.

The purpose of this study are to examine the stress level induced by stressful life events among housewives of military families, and to propose ways how to cope with life stress. The results are as follows; 1. Subjects' life events scores ranged from 59.91 to 2,963.84 and the mean was 611.30. The life stress of subjects was moderate level as compared with 454.29 of normal adults group and 745.15 of patients group with digestive ulcer reported by gum sun Han. 2. There were significant differences between marrtial periods of subjects and total life stress scores, between marrital periods of subjects and undesirable events scores and between ages, characters, rank of their husbands, marrital periods and desirable events scores statistically. The longer married life was, the higher life stress score was. 3. Subjects used more effective long term coping pattern than short term coping pattern and used several behaviors together. 4. There were significant differences between ages, religions, characters, and long term coping pattern statistically. In conclusion, this study shows that the identification of perceived stress level induced by stressful life events and coping patterns taken by housewives of military families provided useful information for nursing intervention.

Involvement of the gonad by malignant lymphoma may be the primary extranodal disease, the initial manifestation of clinically occult nodal disease, or late complication of disseminated nodal lymphoma. Primary extra-nodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of epididymis is extremely rare. The prognosis of testicular or epididymal lymphoma is very poor due to rapid progression and systemic involvement. All patients with testicular or epididymal lymphoma should be treated with aggressive combination chemotherapy, with or without radiotherapy. In this report, we present a case of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the epididymis showing rapid systemic dissemination.

Priapism is the pathologic prolongation of a penile erection most often associated with pain but not with sexual excitement or desire. Recently we experienced one case of priapism accompained by chromic myelocytic leukemia. For treatment of priapism, cavernososponsiosal shunt, radiotherapy and chemotherapy with hydroxyurea were done.
