Influence of Ginsenoside Rb1 on Brain Neurosteroid during Acute Immobilization Stress
이상희,정병화,최상윤,김선여,이은주,정봉철 대한약학회 2006 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.29 No.7
This study examined whether or not acute stress is linked to increases in the neurosteroid levels, which is a well-known neurotransmitters associated with stress stimuli. The ginsenoside, Rb1, was tested in order to better understand its potential effects on altering the neurosteroid levels and ultimately attenuating stress. The optimal stressed condition was checked by measuring the 5a-dihydroprogesterone (DHP) and allopregnanolone (THP) levels in the brain after immobilization stress at various times. Based on this result, an acute stress model was set up to give 30 min of immobilization stress. The DHP and THP brain levels of the stressed mice were then investigated after administering Rb1 orally (10 mg/kg). These results were compared with the neurosteroid level in the stressed mice not given Rb1. Saline was administered orally to the nonstressed mice to check the placebo effect. Acute immobilization stress induced an increase in the THP and DHP concentration in the frontal cortex and cerebellum. When Rb1 was administered orally prior to immobilization stress, the THP level in the frontal cortex and cerebellum was significantly lower than that in the stressed animals not given Rb1. On the other hand, the DHP level was lower in the cerebellum only. This suggests that the metabolism of the brain neurosteroids is linked to psychological stress, and Rb1 attenuates the stressinduced increase in neurosteroids.

This case study explored the experience of engaging in leisure and meaning of life among caregivers of children with cerebral palsy. We used semi-structured in-depth interviews. We recruited 15 caregivers (2 males and 13 females) who are caring for children with cerebral palsy and whose ages were over 40 (mean age =44). Analysis of the data revealed three main themes; (1) self-actualization (time for discovering myself, an experience of growth and learning), (2) forming close relationships (understanding between members, emotional relationship with friends), (3) maintaining health (improvement of physical health, stress relief). The results demonstrated that caregivers were experiencing positive emotions in their daily lives. When the caregivers were participating in leisure activities, they were feeling happiness, and psychological stress was reduced. The findings are meaningful in that engaging in leisure activities had a pivotal role in improving the quality of life of caregivers

This research investigates trends in studies about the employment and vocational experiences of North Korean defectors, as reported in domestic academic journals, and uses semantic network analysis to explore the various issues and their interrelationships highlighted in these studies. The methodology included analyzing text from the conclusion sections of 75 research papers on the employment and vocation of North Korean defectors, published in 51 types of KCI-indexed (candidate) journals from 2010 to 2023. The process involved data collection and cleaning through text mining, the selection and centrality analysis of key words, and the execution of CONCOR and sub-network analyses. The findings initially present an analysis of the state of research on the employment and vocational life of North Korean defectors, categorized according to year, research subject, research theme, and methodology. A subsequent centrality analysis of frequently mentioned terms in these studies showed that ‘policy system’, ‘employment settlement support’, ‘adaptation’, ‘vocational education and training’, and ‘emotional difficulties’ were among the most common. Moreover, CONCOR analysis using UCINET6 identified four distinct clusters, and a sub-network analysis provided interpretations and discussions on meanings centered around ‘policy system and vocational training’, ‘adaptation and difficulties’, ‘career path’, and ‘social support,’ based on the strength of their connections. The research’s significance lies in its comprehensive evaluation of studies on the employment and vocation of North Korean defectors, using a method that quantitatively analyzes the meanings in texts and visually represents the networks connecting various words. The study concludes by offering insights and recommendations for future research based on its findings.
Review of Conductive Copper Paste for c-Si Solar Cells
이상희,이두원,이수홍 대한금속·재료학회 2017 대한금속·재료학회지 Vol.55 No.9
In the photovoltaic industries, the main technique of metallization is screen printing with silver pastes, due to its simple and quick process. However, the high price of silver paste is one of the barriers to the producing of low cost solar cells. Consequently, a primary target in photovoltaic research is to reduce consumption of silver paste or substitute silver with other lower cost materials. As a proper candidate, copper has been extensively investigated for that purpose by many institutes and companies, since it is less expensive than silver with similar conductivity. The plating technique has been actively researched to apply copper as a contact for solar cells. However, copper paste, which was originally developed for integrated circuit applications, has been recently attracted attention. Initially, copper paste was applied for a low temperature annealing process since copper tends to oxidize easily. Recently, a firing type copper paste was also developed which involves coating of the copper particles with a barrier layer. This paper reviews recent developments of copper pastes for the application to solar cells, and its appropriate annealing conditions for better electrical properties. Also, the light I-V characteristics of copper paste on the solar cells reported in the literature are summarized. The 20.7% of the conversion efficiency of a PERT (passivated emitter and rear totally diffused) structure solar cell demonstrates the potential of copper paste as a promising future metallization material.
