Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis is a rare disease of unknown etiology that is characterized by the presence of calcific concentrations in the alveolar spaces. The radiographic appearance is pathognomonic. Plain chest radiographs show a white lung or sandstorm lung consisting of fine sand like microcalcifications diffusely scattered throughout both lungs with a higher density at the lung bases. We now report the case of a 67-year-old male whose diagnosis was based on characteristic findings on a chest X-ray and a high-resolution computed tomography scan.

This study has been studied and analyzed by the actual condition of the change of the Use from the viewpoints of National Land Planning and Use Act, Building Codes and the regulation. As a result of the research and analysis, it conspicuously appears that the phenomena of mixed land use for the use regulation of the zoning aimed to the purification of the Use, especially, formed 87.4 percentage of the mixed industrial zone, 78.2 percentage of the semi-residential zone and 75.0 percentage of the third general residential zone. The analyzed results concentrated on the contents about the permission of the use within 4 different types of zoning with a high level of the mixing degree established an actual basis for the suggestion of the additional permissible plans including 15 different type of architectural works such as lodging, transportation, amusement facilities except for some incongruent ones.

This study has been given careful consideration to an induction of the mixed-use districts for the efficiency of Land Use, the rational plot planning and the mixture/complex among the functions in order to complement the zoning plan with the primary purpose to purify the usage of landscape. Furthermore, it is aimed to indicate the implementations through the medium of the in-depth analysis about the cardinal factors such as the standards on the regional location in the case of designating the Mixed-use districts. The results of the analyses by the purpose and method of this study are as followings. The standard of location-allocation has been deduced by analysing both the distribution ratios classified by the zoning/location and by researching on the zoning areas including the Seoul Metropolis, 25 boroughs and 53 surrounding areas of subway station centered around the districts in the Seoul Metropolis. As a result of the analysis to figure out that it shows up the mixed industrial zone, the semi-residential zone and the third general residential zone in order of sequence and around 22.9 percentage of the total areas are interpreted to the designation of the "Mixed-Use Districts" as shown up the result from the analyzing to link up with the actual condition of the zoning in Seoul.

Background/Aims: Adequate screening colonoscopy in the general population decreases the mortality associated with colorectal cancer through detection and removal of adenomatous polyps. Prolonged colonoscopic withdrawal times (>6 min) are reportedly beneficial for adenoma detection rates (ADRs). However, the quality of the endoscopist compared with colonoscopic withdrawal times is not known. The aims of this study were to investigate the difference in ADRs between trainees and experienced examiners. Methods: A total of 967 consecutive patients who underwent screening colonoscopy in a single University hospital from June 2010 to November 2011 were enrolled in this prospective observational study. Colonoscopy was performed by four experienced staff and seven gastroenterology fellows. Results: Seven gastroenterology fellows performed 633 colonoscopies and four experienced staff performed 334 colonoscopies. The overall detection rates of colorectal adenoma were 31.5% with ADRs of fellows and staff of 29.4% and 35.6%, respectively (p=0.047). Fellows also showed lower advanced ADRs (5.7% vs. 9.9%, p=0.016), and fellows had longer mean withdrawal times than staff (12.4±4.9 min vs. 8.2±4.1 min, p<0.001). Multivariate analysis showed significantly increased ADRs and advanced ADRs for staff compared with fellows (adjusted OR 2.41, 95% CI 1.70-3.43; adjusted OR 2.55, 95% CI 1.47 4.45, respectively). Conclusions: ADRs were significantly lower when colonoscopy was performed by trainees, although withdrawal times were longer than those of staff. Our results demonstrated that the quality of colonoscopy, as measured by ADRs, may be improved by experienced examiners. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2014;64:278-283)
