Droplet combustion at high ambient pressures is studied numerically by formulating one dimensional combustion model in the mixture of n-heptane fuel and air. The ambient pressure is supercritical conditions. The modified Soave-Redlich-Kwong state equation is used in the evaluation of thermophysical properties to account for the real gas effect on fluid p-v-T properties in high pressure conditions. Non-ideal thermodynamic and transport property at near critical and supercritical conditions are also considered. Several parametric studies are performed by changing ambient pressure and initial droplet diameter. Droplet lifetime decreased with increasing pressure. Surface temperature increased with increasing pressure. Ignition time increased with increasing initial droplet diameter. Temporal or spatial distribution of mass fraction, mass diffusivity, Lewis number, thermal conductivity, and specific heat were presented.
LC(Liquid crystal)-광섬유를 이용한 최소 침습적 레이저 온열 치료용 온도 측정 센서의 개발을 위한 기초 연구

Nowadays, laserthermia is widely used to treat malignant tumors with generating heat as the one of minimal invasive surgeries. Generally, the laserthermia probe system consists of the fiber-optic laser and light guides, image guide and temperature sensor. It is very important to measure the temperature of treating tumor and make a stable temperature (42~43℃) during the treating time. Therefore, laserthermia probe needs temperature sensor which can measure it exactly and fast. In this study, to develop a new type of temperature sensor with LC(liquid crystal) and optical fiber, the reflectivity of LC according to the temperature changes are measured. Also, the relationships are derived from the results.
Schizandrin함량이 높은 음료개발올 위한 오미자 (Schizandra chinensis Baillon) 추출조건

오미자를 이용한 고기능성 음료개발을 위하여 이번 연구에서는 추출조건별로 오미자의 기능성분 함량 및 anthocyanin 색소에 대한 최적 추출조건을 설정하였다. 분쇄하지 않은 오미자를 이용해서 추출한 경우, Bl값은 차이가 없었으나, schizandrin은 20% 수준에 그쳐 최종적으로 분쇄한 오미자를 시료로 설정하였다. 분쇄한 오미자는 $40^{\circ}C$, 75% ethanol로 추출했을 때 schizandrin 함량이 가장 높았으며, Bl 값은 온도와 ethanol 함량이 높아 질수록 감소하였다. 높은 기능성과 제품의 관능성을 고려할 때 schizandrin 함량과 Bl값을 최적으로 만족하는 조건은 분쇄 오미자를 $46^{\circ}C$에서 24% ethanol을 사용하여 3시간 추출했을 경우 높은 값을 얻을 수 있었다. Omija (Schizandra chinensis Baillon) has five lignans such as schizandrin, gomisin A, gomisin N, gomisin C and schizandrin C. Its major constituent, schizandrin, has a deterrent effect on nephrotoxicity of cisplatin, blood sugar and an ulcer of the stomach. In this study, we have investigated optimized extraction condition to make high functional beverage by quantifying schizandrin and measuring of browning index. Browning index was used as an index of color deterioration of anthocyanin. Browning index was decreased according to increment in extraction temperature and ethanol concentration. The optimum extraction time, extraction temperature and alcohol concentration levels were 3 hrs, $46^{\circ}C$ and 24% alcohol for high schizandrin concentration and desired browing index.
생리신호를 기반으로 한 자동 감성 평가 전문가 시스템의 개발

The purpose of this study was to develop an automatic expert system for the evaluation of human sensibility, where human sensibility can be inferred from objective physiological signals. The study aim was also to develop an algorithm in which human arousal and pleasant level can be judged by using measured physiological signals. Fuzzy theory was applied for mathematical handling of the ambiguity related to evaluation of human sensibility. and the degree of belonging to a certain sensibility dimension was quantified by membership function through which the sensibility evaluation was able to be done. Determining membership function was achieved using results from a physiological signal database of arousal/relaxation and pleasant/unpleasant that was generated from imagination. To induce one final result (arousal and pleasant level) based on measuring the results of more than 2 physiological signals and the membership function of each physiological signal. Dempster-Shafer's rule of combination in evidence was applied, through which the final arousal and pleasant level was inferred.
고온.고압 환경에서 가열평판에 충돌하는 디젤분무의 특성

Characteristics of a diesel spray impingement with the variation of ambient temperature, wall temperature and ambient pressure were investigated through shadowgraphy method by using high speed camera. The radial penetration of spray was increased with ambient temperature and wall temperature. It is resulted from the decrease of ambient gas density caused by the increase of temperature. The height of spray was also increased with ambient temperature and wall temperature, because the height of stagnate region is noticeably increased, although height of wall jet vortex is decreased. At the same ambient pressure, the area ratio of impinging spray of room temperature environment to high temperature environment was increased, as the temperature difference between room temperature and high temperature increases. And the increment of area ratio was higher at low ambient pressure than high ambient pressure.
