      • Differential Function of EDRF in Systemic Arterial and Pulmonary Arterial System of Renal Hypertensive Rats

        급성 신성 고혈압쥐 (2-kidney, 1-ligation type)의 전신성 동맥계와 폐 동맥계에 대한 내피 의존적 혈관반응성을 규명하기 위하여, 적출 혈관 및 마취상태의 흰쥐에 대한 acetylcholine (ACh)의 혈관이완작용 및 혈압강하 작용을 측정하였다. 혈장 renin 활성(PRA)은 신동맥 결찰전 $7.31{\pm}0.63\;ng/ml/hr$ A I에 비해 결찰 $6{\sim}8$일후에는 $19{\sim}22\;ng/ml/hr$ A I으로 유의성있게 증가하였으며, 이는 수축기혈압의 상승과 $(154{\pm}1.83{\rightarrow}190{\sim}215\;mmHg)$ 일정한 상관성을 유지하였다. 신성 고혈압쥐 및 정상 혈압쥐의 흉곽 대동맥은 내피세포 존재시 ACh에 의해 용량의존적으로 이완되었으며, 이때 신성고혈압쥐에서의 반응은 정상 혈압쥐에 비해 유의성있게 감소하였다(각각 34% 및 86%, p<0.01). 또한 ACh은 신성 고혈압쥐 및 정상 혈압쥐의 폐동맥에 대해서도 내피세포 존재시에 이완반응을 초래하였다. 그러나, 흉곽 대동맥에서와는 달리 두 군간에 유의성있는 차이가 없었다. 이들 반응은 내피세포 제거후 또는 EDRF 억제제 (L-NAME, MB, $10^{-5}$ M) 투여후 유의성있게 억제되었다. $ACh(0.1{\sim}10\;{\mu}g/kg,\;i.v.)$은 신성 고혈압쥐 및 정상 혈압쥐에서 전신성 동맥압의 강하를 초래하였는데, 신성 고혈압쥐에서 다소 감소하였으나 유의성있는 차이는 없었으며 ($SAPm;\;10\;{\mu}g/kg$에서 각각 39%, 46 %), 이들 작용은 L-NAME(30 mg/kg, i.v.) 전처치후 유의성있게 억제되었다. ACh에 의한 폐동맥압 강하는 신성 고혈압쥐 및 정상 혈압쥐 사이에 서로 비슷하게 나타났다. 그러나, 신성 고혈압 쥐 및 정상 혈압쥐에서 ACh에 의한 폐동맥압의 강하율은 전신성 동맥압의 강하율보다 유의성있게(p<0.01) 작았으며, 또한 L-NAME $(0.1{\sim}100\;mg/kg,\;i.v.)$에 의한 폐동맥압의 상승은 전신성 동맥압의 상승보다 유의성있게(p<0.01) 작았다. 이상의 실험 결과들은 급성 신성 고혈압쥐의 전신성 동맥계에서는 내피세포 손상이 초래되지만, 폐동맥계에서는 초래되지 않는다는것을 제시해준다. 또 신성고혈압쥐 및 정상 혈압쥐에서 EDRF 의 basal release 및 ACh 유발성 EDRF function은 전신성 동맥계에 비해 폐동맥계에서 적다는 것을 제시해준다. To investigate the endothelium dependent vascular reactivity of the systemic arterial and the pulmonary arterial system in acute renal hypertensive rats of 2-kidney, 1-ligation type (RHRs), acetylcholine (ACh)-induced vasodilation and depressor effects were evaluated in isolated arteries and in vivo, respectively, in the presence and absence of functional endothelium. ACh $(10^{-5}\;M)$ relaxed the intact thoracic aortas from RHRs and normotensive rats (NRs), but the effect was significantly smaller for those from RHRs (34 and 86%, respectively, p<0.01). ACh-induced vasodilation was completely abolished after removal of endothelial cell or pretreatment with EDRF inhibitors, L-NAME and MB, indicative of its dependence on intact endothelial or EDRF function. ACh also induced vasorelaxation of the intact pulmonary arteries from RHRs and NRs; however, unlike the effects on the thorcic aorta, no significant difference in amplitude was noted between two groups. ACh $(0.1{\sim}10\;{\mu}g/kg,\;i.v.)$ reduced mean systemic arterial pressure in anesthetized RHRs and in NRs to the similar magnitude (% change: 39 and 46% at $10\;{\mu}g/kg$, respectively) and these hypotensive effects were significantly decreased after pretreatment with L-NAME (30 mg/kg, i.v.). Deprssor effects of ACh on mean pulmonary arterial pressure were similar in RHRs and NRs with and without pretreatment of L-NAME. However, in both NRs and RHRs, the depressor effects of ACh on mean pulmonary arterial pressure were significantly reduced compared with those for mean systemic arterial pressure, and the increment of mean pulmonary arterial pressure noted after L-NAME $(0.1{\mu}100\;mg/kg,\;i.v.)$ was significantly smaller than that for mean systemic arterial pressure. These results indicate that in RHRs the endothelial cell function was impaired, at least in part, in systemic arterial system, but not in pulmonary arterial system, and both ACh-evoked and basal release of EDRF was less in the pulmonary arterial system than in systemic arterial system of both NRs and RHRs.

      • LSI의 Layout CAD에 관한 연구 -자동 배치 프로그램 개발-

        본 논문에서는 LSI layout의 배치 프로그램을 개발하고 그 실험 결과에 관해 논하였다. 100% 결선율 달성을 위해 가상 기선 경로법으로는 실제의 배선에 가까운 알고리즘을 도입하여 채널 밀도 계산에 반영하였다. 목적함수로는 총배선장의 최소화, 통과선수의 최소화, 최대 채널 밀도의 최소화를 동시에 산출 가능한 함수를 도입하였다. 제안된 가상배선경로 계산 알고리즘은 O(n2)으로 계산시간이 매우 바르고 최소배선장에 근사한 배선상태를 나타내므로 배치 문제에 적용하기에 매우 적합하다. 이 알고리즘을 사용하여 자동 배치 프로그램을 개발하고 작성된 프로그램의 실험결과를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘의 유용성을 보였다. A placement program in LSI layout is developed and the results of test are discussed in this paper. In order to achieve 100% wiring, this paper introduces, as a virtual routing method, an algorithm which is close to the real routing. This algorithm is reflected to calculate the channel density. An object function is introduced to achieve minimization of total wire length, number of cuts, and maximum channel density simultaneously. The time complexity for the proposed virtual routing algorithm is O(n2). The time required for the algorithm is very short. This algorithm represents the routing state which is close to minimum wire length. So this algorithm is very proper to the application of placement problem. An auto-placement program is developed by the use of this algorithm. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is shown in the test of the developed program.

        In this paper, a new performance equation of bath tubs has been derived, which is very characteristically illuminating and in good agreement with experiments : $$T=T_{\infty}+(T_0-T_{\infty})e-\frac{k(A'_f+A_0)}{Mc_{P{\Delta}x}t$$, where $T_{\infty}$ is the temperature of the bathroom, $T_0$ that of the bathwater at t=0, k the overall heat conductivity of the tub- wall, $A'_f$ the equivalent surface area to the wall, $A_0$ the submerged area of the tub-wall, M mass of the bath-water, $C_p$ the specific heat of the bathwater and ${\Delta}x$ the thickness of the tub-wall. Here the equivalent-free surface area is written as $$A'_f=mA_f,\;m=const.(1-{\phi})^{0.88}$$ : where m is a numerical factor which is determined by a simple experiment and some calculation, {\phi}$ the relative humidity and $A_f$ the real free-surface area. From this study, it has been clarified that cooling of bath-water is mainly due to mass-transfer through evaporation from the free surface and conductive heat loss through the tub-wall is minor, which rather gaily mock at common sense. The effect of keeping bathwater warn by increase of the tub-wall thickness is also analyzed by a new idea of the thickness gain factor.

      • Model Predictive Control (MPC)-Based Supervisory Control and Design of Off-Gas Recovery Plant with Periodic Disturbances from Parallel Batch Reactors

        <P>This paper proposes a plantwide control structure and a model predictive control (MPC) scheme for the effective separation of off-gas from a polysilicon plant with periodic disturbances in the feed. The target process studied in this work produces 10 000 MT of polysilicon per year with 28 chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reactors. CVD reaction kinetic models were constructed, and their parameters were identified using a genetic algorithm. Aspen Dynamics was used to model the off-gas recovery process and implement proportional-integral (PI) controllers for regulating the inventory levels. A centralized supervisory layer based on MPC, to minimize the fluctuation of the recovered concentration, was linked with regulatory controllers through a MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. Using a rigorous plantwide dynamic model, four cased were studied with different control schemes with and without buffer tanks. The proposed control strategy showed better performance, compared with fully decentralized classical proportional integral derivative (PID) schemes. It is thus expected that the developed control strategy will be able to achieve the design of batch-continuous processes with periodic disturbances. The benefits of using the multivariable MPC approach as a supervisory layer are shown and analyzed using Aspen Plus, Aspen Dynamics, and MATLAB/SIMULINK.</P>

        An acoustical rating for the occupied hall of our National Theatre is presented for symphony orchestra and opera by theoretical estimation of various acoustical qualities from the basis of measured reverberation times in its vacant stste. The result is that by serious poverty of liveness a romantic music, typical symphony orchestra and even classical music are very difficult to be performed and only a baroque music is scarcely allowable to be performed in this hall. As for opera, wagnerians are difficult and italians are performable to some extent. Some discussions are given for which defects are more serious in this hall and some possible accustical corrections are also suggested for its better performance.
