Erwinia pyrifoliae는 그람 음성 세균으로 사과와 배에 가지검은마름병을 일으킨다. E. pyrifoliae EpK1/15 균주가 병징을 보이는 경기도 포천지역의 사과나무 가지에서 2014년도에 분리되었다. 본 논문에서는 PacBio RS II 플랫폼을 이용하여 E. pyrifoliae EpK1/15 균주의 전체 유전체를 분석하여 보고한다. 본 균주는 G + C 비율이 53.4%이며, 4,027,225 bp로 구성된 염색체와 G + C 비율이 50.3%이며, 48,456 bp로 구성된 plasmid를 지니고 있다. 이들 염색체와 plasmid DNA에서 3,798개의 단백질 코딩 유전자, 22개의 rRNA, 77개의 tRNA, 13개의 non-coding RNA 및 231개의 위유전자(pseudo gene)가 확인되었다. Erwinia pyrifoliae is a Gram-negative bacterium causing black shoot blight in apple and Asian pear trees. E. pyrifoliae strain EpK1/15 was isolated in 2014 from an apple twig from the Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. In this study, we report the draft genome sequence of E. pyrifoliae EpK1/15 using PacBio RS II platform. The draft genome is comprised of a circular chromosome with 4,027,225 bp and 53.4% G + C content and a plasmid with 48,456 bp and 50.3% G + C content. The draft genome includes 3,798 protein-coding genes, 22 rRNA genes, 77 tRNA genes, 13 non-coding RNA genes, and 231 pseudo genes.

This study aims to establish an approach to assess urban flood vulnerability by identifying social characteristics such as the road transportation and the vulnerable groups. Assessment procedures comprise three steps as: (1) composing the assessment criteria to reflect the urban characteristics; (2) calculating the weight; and (3) evaluating the vulnerability. The criteria were adopted by Delphi survey technique. Four criteria as land cover, residents, vulnerable areas, and disaster response were adopted in the current study. To determine the weight set of criteria, subjective and objective methods were combined. The weight set was determined using the combined method which reflects the Delphi method and Entropy analysis. In the process of data-based construction, GIS tools wwere used to extract administrative unit materials such as land cover, road status, and slope. Data on population and other social criteria were collected through the National Statistical Office and the Seoul Metropolitan statistical data. TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) technique, which uses materials from cell units in order to rank the closest distance to the best case and the farthest distance from the worst case by calculating the distances to the area of assessment, was applied to assess. The study area was the Dorimcheon basin, a flood special treatment area of Seoul city. The results from the current study indicates that the established urban flood vulnerability assessment approach is able to predict the inherent vulnerable factors in urban regions and to propose the area of priority control.
한식 이미지가 여행목적지로서의 한국에 미치는 영향 -현지 미국인의 한식에 대한 인식을 중심으로-

본 연구는 미국인들의 한식에 대한 이미지가 한식에 대한 선호도와 그들이 실제한식을 즐기는 정도에 어떻게 영향을 끼치는지, 한식에 대한 선호도와 한식을 즐기는 정도가 한국 방문 의도와 지인들에게 한국 방문을 추천하고자 하는지에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 뉴욕, 샌프란시스코, 하와이 등 3개 도시의 현지 미국인 209명을 대상으로 설문 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외국인들의 한국 음식에 대한 긍정적 이미지는 한식에 대한 선호도와 실제 한식을 구매하는 정도에 유의한정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 미국인들의 한국음식에 대한 선호도는 한국을 방문하고자 하는 의도에 긍정적으로 작용하며, 또한 주변 사람들에게 한국을 방문할 것을 적극적으로 추천하고자 하는 경향을 발견할 수 있었다. 셋째, 미국인들이 실제로 한식에 대해 구매하는 정도는 한국을 방문하고자 하는 의도 및 한국방문을 주변 사람들에게 추천하고자 하는 의도에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 한식의 이미지는 한국을 방문하고자 하는 의도와 한국방문을 추천하고자 하는 의도에 긍정적으로 영향을 미치며, 한식에 대한 선호도와 한식을 실제로 접하는 구매 빈도(외식 빈도) 정도가 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. As the travel industry becomes competitive, food exploration regarded as representative of one`s comprehensive culture acts as an important tourism motivation. This study explores to identify how Korean food image in the USA forms preference and dining frequency, and how that, in turn, affects visiting intention and recommendation. A total of 209 samples were obtained from American consumers. Structural equation modeling was employed to test six hypotheses. Findings indicate that Korean food image influences its preference, dining frequency, and ultimately intention to visit and to recommend Korea. Findings of this study will provide insight on how to attract tourists in the context of food image. Study results and implications for food marketers are included.

This paper introduces DeepKLM, a deep learning library for syntactic experiments. The library enables researchers to use the state-of-the-art deep computational language model, based on BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers). The library, written in Python, works to fill the masked part of a sentence with a specific token, similar to the Cloze task in the traditional language experiments. The output value of surprisal is related to human language processing in terms of speed and complexity. The library additionally provides two visualization tools of the heatmap and the attention head visualization. This article also provides two case studies of NPIs and reflexives employing the library. The library has room for improvement in that the BERT-based components are not entirely on par with those in human language sentences. Despite such limits, the case studies imply that the library enables us to assess human and deep learning machines’ language ability.
미국대학 구내식당에서 한식메뉴도입 가능성에 대한 탐색적연구

The purpose of this study is to explore, in the context of globalization of Korean food, the possibility of introducing Korean food for campus dining service in USA which has one of the biggest food markets. In-depth interview with 10 managerial level of staffs in campus dining service was conducted to investigate the possibility and challenges of adopting Korean menus in their campus dining service and provide helpful information for the globalization strategy of Korean food. This study found that the critical factors they consider for introduction of new menu are ‘profitability’, ‘easy and speedy cooking process’, ‘stable food display’, ‘customers’ ‘preference’, ‘food characteristics’, and ‘ingredients & equipment’. They indicated several positive aspects of Korean food for campus dining service: ‘existence of potential demand’, ‘high interest of American in new food’, ‘good for catering & buffet service’, and ‘variety and health of Korean food’. They also suggested several potential challenges: ‘uncertainty of student customers preference over Korean food’, ‘no information about marketing methods’, ‘different style of cooking process’, ‘time required for cooking & service’, ‘lack of information on Korean food’, and ‘consistent ingredient supply’.
