        한국흑염소에 있어서 DL-Ethionine으로 유발시킨 지방간에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out to investigate fatty liver in Korean black goats. Adult female goats were divided into 3 test groups(A, B and C). Group A and B of goats each received 3 test consecutive daily doses of DL-ethionine at 75mg/kg and 150mg/kg body weight, respectively. Group C of goats was given 3 consecutive doses of the compound every 48 hours at 150mg/kg body weight. The clinical symptoms, hematological values, serum chemical values and histopathological study of the liver were investigated in the test animals. The results obtained are as follows ; 1. Fatty liver were observed in every test animal. 2. Some clinical symptoms( anorexia, depression) were appeared from 1st day to 7th day after administration of the compound in every test animal. In addition to these symptoms, diarrhea and salivation were generally observed in test animals which were given the compound at 150mg/kg body weight. The degree of these symptoms was dose dependent. 3. There was no significant variations in total WBC counts and fibrinogen values in the blood of test goats. The PCV values were significantly increased on 5th day of dosing in group A and B of goats. 4. The total lipid value was not changed but the concentration of NEFA was significantly increased on 3rd day of dosing with the compound and returned to normal value after 10 days hereafter. The value of triglycerides was significantly increased on 1st day and returned to normal value on 3rd day of dosing. The value of cholesterol was significantly decreased on 3rd day and returned to normal value on 10th day after treatment. 5. Total protein level was decreased on 10th day of dosing in the groups of B and C, and billirubin level was significantly increased on 7th day of dosing in every test group and returned to normal level after 13th day of administration. 6. The activity of GGT in serum was not changed while the activities of SDH and AST were significantly increased in every test goat and those values were returned to normal after 10~13th day of trestment. 7 The 35K-protein fraction in serum was not detected by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, but this protein fraction was detected by the same method after treating the 21st and 22nd fraction which were obtained by column chromatography with Sephadex G-100. 8. The affected liver was congested and swollen on 3rd day, and yellowish brown in color and mottled appearance on 7th day of treatment. Histopathologically, fat droplets were common in the hepatocytes, this change was intensive on 7th day after treatment in group B and C. Hepatic cell necrosis was observed in some livers but this pathological change was disappeared and returned to normal after 13 days of treatment.

        번식우에 대한 rBST투여가 포유기 송아지의 비육과 설사 예방에 미치는 영향

        This study was carried out to investigate weight gain and prevention of diarrhea in suckling calves which were injected with recombinant bovine somatopropin (rBST). A total of 101 breeding cows were assigned to the six groups according to the administered dosage and injected time, respectively. Groups T-1, T-3, T-4 and T-6 were injected starting 1 week before calving and groups T-2 and T-5 were injected on the calving day. The six groups were injected five times at two week intervals. Groups T-1 and T-2 were injected with 250mg composite rBST, Group T-3 was injected with 375 mg composite rBST. Groups T-4 and T-5 were injected with 500mg composite rBST, And group T-6 was injected with 500mg rBST-S. The control group was not injected with BST. The groups injected with 500 mg BrST had a lower rate of morbidity from diarrhea than the control group or the groups injected with 250 mg rBST (T-1 and T-2). Weight gain was higher in group T-4 than in the control group or groups T-1 and T-2. In Korean Native Cattle, the total weight gain was greater in group T-4 than in the control group (p<0.05). In crossbred cows, total weight gain was the highest in group T-4, and the total weight gain rate was greater than in group T-4 and the control group (p<0.05). The results of the hematological values showed that injections of rBST did not affect the level of the RBC, TP and BUN in the breeding cows at 9 weeks after postpartum or the neonatal calves. The results of this study indicate that injecting breeding cows with 500 mg rBST before calving would be effective in the preventing of diarrhea and in increasing weight gain of calves from birth to weaning.

        적록사슴에서 뿔 및 경정맥 혈액의 성분비교

        The blood components of not-young (young antler) were examined in the Red Deer. Blood samples were collected from the antler and jugular veins respectively. The hematological and serum chemical values were as follows; 1. RBC count of not-hyul (young antler blood) was significantly higher than that of jugular vein blood (p<0.05). However, fibrinogen concentration of rook hyul was significantly lower than that of jugular vein blood (p<0.01). WBC counts packed cell volume (PCV) and total protein fro) were not significant between nolo-hyul and jugular vein blood. 2. The concentration of phosphorous and magnesium of not-hyul were significantly higher than those of jugular vein blood (p<0.05). Albumin and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) of nolo-hyul were higher than those of jugular vein blood. But globulin and calcium concentration of not-hyul were lower than those of jugular vein blood. Blood urea nitrogen BUN) of rook-hyul was not significant when compared with that of jugular vein blood.

        소의 혈청 비타민 E 농도와 결핍증에 관한 연구

        Serum $\alpha$-tocopherol was measured in cattle to evaluate normal range and to investigate the difference of $\alpha$-tocopherol levels between healthy cattle and diseased cattle. Seventy two heads of 1 year old beef Cattle have 429.9$\pm$77.2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/100ml of Serum $\alpha$-tocopherol. The Serum $\alpha$-tocopherol values of calves with diarrhea(8 heads), pneumonia(6 heads) and piroplasmosis(4 heads) were 87.1$\pm$19.2, 126.3$\pm$45.7 and 106.3$\pm$30.9$\mu\textrm{g}$/100ml, respectively. But that of calves in good health (S heads) was 357.t$\pm$68.4 $\mu\textrm{g}$/100m1. And the values of diseased calves are significantly lower an that of calves in good health(p<0.05). Seasonaly, serum $\alpha$-tocopherol levels of dairy Holstein cows were 529.9$\pm$ 120.3(March), 540.2$\pm$127.2(June), 566.9$\pm$149.5(September) and 550,0$\pm$ 125.4(December)$\mu\textrm{g}$/100m1, respectively. The values on autumn was the highest than that of othor seasons. Serum H-tocopherol level of cows with retained placenta was 262.2$\pm$40.6$\mu\textrm{g}$/100m1. And the level of retained placenta was significantly lower than that of healthy cattle regardless seasonal variation(p<0.05).

        . The liver of 203 slaughtered Holstein cows, were examined for their gross and histopathological observations. The fatty livers were classificated into mild(0 to 20%), moderate(20 to 40%) and severe(more than 40%). The results obtained were as follows; The number of cows with moderate and severs groups were 94(46.3%) and 43(21.2%), respectively. In the severe case with fatty changes, the size of the fatlet in the liver cell was larger than that of the mild ones. In the liver cells of the severe and moderate groups, the liver cell volume was increased, and the hepatic sinusoids were compressed by the liver cells. The nuclei were displaced to the periphery and lipogranulomas were present in the liver cells of the severe group.

        젖소에서 분만기의 혈액화학치의 변화: 지방간을 중심으로

        This study examined the incidence of disease and blood biochemical values in 68 Holstein cattle during the a month period after parturition. In order to compare the blood biochemical values, the animals were divided into 2 groups of prepartum and 4 groups of postpartum according to the blood collecting day, respectively. The results compared postpartum with prepartum were obtained as follows : the incidences of displacement of abomasum, culled and retained placenta were 11.8%. 13.2% and 8.8%, respectively. In the normal group(pre and post parturition group), NEFA and bilirubin were increased. Triglyceride and cholesterol were significantly lower than In the pre-parturition group, and total lipid was decreased. In the disease group, displacement of abomasum was significantly higher than in the normal group in the levels of NEFA, triglyceride and bilirubin. Culled was significantly higher than in the normal group in the levels of NEFA, AST and bilirubin. but lower than in the normal group in the levels of triglyceride and cholesterol. Retained placenta was significantly higher than in the normal group in the levels of NEFA and bilirubin, but lower than in the normal group in the levels of triglyceride.

      • 제주도에서 사육되는 마의 질병과 기생충 감염에 관한 연구

        The disease mobility and parasitic infection, and normal blood biochemistry values were investigated in Cheju horse. The ratio of the diseased horse was 23.3% in 1992 and 25.2% in 1993. The disease incidences of the digestive system, the respiratory system and the traumatic disease were 14.3%, 5.6% and 4.7%, respectively in the diseased horses. The rate of parasitic infection was 82.7% in Strongylus vulgaris, and 9.3% in Ascaris equiutn. The rate of bot's eggs on the equine hairs of Gastrophzlus spp. was 100% in the horses and the rate of infected larvae of Gastrophdus spp. was 37.5% in slaughtered horses. In the healthy horses, the values of RBC was 801.1 k79.1 l0^(4)/㎕, WBC was 9,090±1.533/㎕. PCV was 38.8±3.5%, hemoglobin was 13.0±1.5g/l00ml, total protein was 7.2±0.6g/l00ml, fibrinogen was 195.0±80.5mg/l00ml, sorbitol dehydrogenase was 0.62 ± 0.35IU/L, bilirubin was 2.5±0.5mg/100ml, blood urea nitrogen was 19.1±4.4mg/l00ml, creatinine was 1.1±0.2mg,/l00ml and glucose was 46.3±7.8mg/l00ml.
