An isokinetic exercise system was designed and manufactured to perform muscular performance test and the traning of athletes and the rehabilitation of patients. The system majorly consists of gear box, D. C servo motor and servo controller, data reduction computer. Preliminary experiments were conducted to find out the performance of the system. The performance of the prototype isokinetic exercise system was turned out to be satisfactory compared with a commercial product called CYBEX system.

Mechanical energy consumption during human running was studied. The subject was modeled by an eleven segment planar open linkage system and analyzed by Newtonian equations of motion from film data with a sampling rate of 50 Hz. The motion data from films were smoothed by lower 7 harmonics before analysis. And this study was tried for a normal male subject running on a concrete floor. The mechanical energy consumption was evaluated from the five different criteria suggested by others and a joint energy consumption criterion newly devised based on the muscle contraction.

생체역학분야는 선진국에서는 매우 활발한 분야이며 이웃 일본, 중국 등에서도 여러분야에 걸쳐 광범위하게 활용하고 있으며 이 분야의 연구 및 개발에 컴퓨터 특히 PC를 많이 사용하여 왔다. 우리나라에서는 사실 이 분야에 대하여 소홀히 하여 왔으나 최근 이 분야에 대한 관심이 고조 되어 여러 연구소가 세워지고 있고 대학에서도 이 분야의 학과를 신설하고 있다. 앞으로 국민 복지 향상을 위해서 또한 제품의 고급화를 위하여서도 생체역학 분야의 연구가 더욱 활성화되 어야 하겠다.
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF ECONOMIC HYBRID VEHICLE SYSTEMUSING CLUTCHLESS GEARED SMART TRANSMISSION

Most hybrid vehicles employ the continuously variable transmission (CVT or eCVT) currently as their choiceof the transmissions. Recently, an automated geared transmission (AGT) or dual clutch transmission (DCT) is being tried forsome hybrid vehicles for the better fuel economy than the CVT hybrid. However, this AGT or DCT is using automatedclutches which require the hydraulic power in addition to the slippage in the clutch plate invoking some energy loss as wellas wear. Also, they require a motor with significant power to match to the engine power. The clutchless geared smarttransmission (CGST) has no clutch and the clutch function is performed by a planetary gear system controlled by a motor-generator. The hybrid vehicles proposed here using CGST may have some merits in durability, fuel efficiency, and cost sincethey do not have clutches. The motor used for the clutch function can be also working for power merge with the engine inpropelling the vehicle. The proposed hybrid system can be either mild hybrid or full hybrid by adopting a different capacityof battery with much smaller motor-generator due to the planetary gear system compared to the other type hybrid vehicles. Inthis study, the prospects of newly proposed CGST hybrid system are examined in practical aspects compared with AGT hybridor DCT hybrid systems.
