본 연구에서는 분광광도계를 사용하여 자수정의 색상을 측정하고 자료를 해석함으로써 유색보석의 색상을 정밀하게 측정하기 위한 그 기초자료를 얻고자 하였다. 판상과 실물형태로 가공된 자수정 시료에 대하여 자외선${\sim}$가시광선 영역의 빛을 조사(照射)하고 시료에 의하여 반사 또는 투과되는 빛의 파장별 농도를 측정하고 이 자료로부터 인간의 눈이 느끼는 색감인 3자극치를 구한 다음 이를 근거로 CIE xyY 값을 구하였으며, 그 결과를 육안관찰 결과치와 비교하였다. 아울러 색상 측정 결과에 미치는 시료 두께의 영향도 함께 고찰 하였다. This study was carried out for the purpose of obtaining the basic data for color identification of amethyst by spectrophotometer. For this, the eleven amethyst stone and one citrine stone from eight countries were prepared in facet cut or plate. The transmittance and reflection of this samples were investigated as a function of wavelength. The transmittance or reflection was transformed to tristimulus value (X, Y, Z) and chromaticity value (x, y, z) and then compared with the results of eye observation which was plotted on cm xyY color space. Finally, the influence of the amethyst's thickness on transmittance or reflection was investigated.

본 연구는 자수정의 산지에 따른 내포물의 성상 변화를 조사함으로써 자수정의 산지 감별을 위한 기초자료를 얻을 목적으로 수행되었다. 자수정에 포획되어 있는 내포물의 삼차원적 형상을 입체현미경으로 관찰하여 그 특징을 조사하였고, 각 내포물 중 고체내포물 단면의 형상 및 화학조성을 SEM/EDS로 조사하였으며, SEM/EDS 관찰을 위한 감압코팅과정에서 액상포유물의 파괴와 증발에 의해 생성되는 수지상 무늬의 형상과 화학조성을 분석함으로써 액상포유물의 조성도 조사하였다. 아울러 각 자수정 시료를 플루오르화수소산으로 처리하여 완전 용해시킨 다음 ICP-AES를 이용하여 각종 자수정에 함유되어 있는 미량 성분의 농도를 정밀하게 분석하여 고찰하였다. This study was carried out for the purpose of obtaining the basic data for identifying the origin of amethyst. For this, the three dimensional shapes of inclusions contained in various amethyst were observed with Stereo Zoom microscope. The shape and chemical composition of cross section of solid inclusion and the chemical composition of evaporite were investigated by SEM-EDS. The evaporite is made from evaporating of liquid inclusion which is flowed out of amethyst sample by decompressing. Lastly, The trace mineral composition of amethyst was investigated by ICP-AES after digesting the amethyst sample with HF-$H_2SO_4$ solution.
ET-IR, UV-VIS 분광분석을 통한 자수정의 산지감별

남미, 아프리카, 아시아 대륙의 자수정을 대상으로 하였다 ICP-AES 분석에서 나타난 발색원소는 Fe, Cr, Cu, Co이며 대체적으로 남미 지역에서 발색원소의 함유량이 높게 나타났다. UV-VIS 분석결과 천연자수정과 합성자수정은 350nm 영역과 550nm 영역에서 흡수가 일어나는 특성을 나타냈고 투과율은 합성에 비해 천연이 낮게 나타났다. FT-IR분석결과 천연자수정과 합성자수정의 구분은 합성자수정의 특징인 $3543cm^{-1}$ 흡수밴드의 유무에 의해 알 수 있었다 남미 지역은 $3584cm^{-1},\;3435cm^{-1}$ 흡수밴드가 강하게 나타나며, 아프리카 지역은 $3299cm^{-1},\;3196cm^{-1}$ 흡수밴드가 나타났다. 아시아 지역은 $3381cm^{-1}$ 흡수밴드가 특징적으로 관찰되었다. Many amethysts of different origins such as South America, Aftrica, and Asia were compared. According to ICP-AES analysis, the colorizing elements were Fe, Cr, Cu, and Co. Amethysts from South America showed higher concentrations of the elements. UV- VIS analysis showed that both natural and synthetic amethysts were characterized by the higher absorption at 350 nm and 550 nm wavelength. The natural amethysts had lower permeability than that of the synthetic amethysts. According to FT-IR analysis, the synthetic amethysts were distinguished from the natural amethysts in that they had a typical absorption band of $3543cm^{-1}$. The amethyst from South America showed strong absorption bands of $3584cm^{-1}\;and\;3435cm^{-1}$, and African amethyst had absorption bands of $3299cm^{-1}\;and\;3196cm^{-1}$. $3381cm^{-1}$ absorption band was shown strongly for Asian origins.

Purpose: This study was designed to review the clinical outcome of infants whounderwent tracheostomy in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of a singlecenter in Korea during 16 years. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 33 patients who underwenttracheostomy in NICU of Samsung Medical Center between January, 1997 andDecember, 2013. We collected data on timing, indications, clinical outcomes, andcomplications of tracheostomy in the study patients. We also compared thesevariables with those in another single center study (study A) recently showing theoutcome of infants who underwent tracheostomy in a NICU of USA during 10 years. Results: The median gestational age and birth weight of the study patients were 35weeks, and 3,200 g, respectively. Gestational age of the study patients was greaterthan that of study A (35 weeks vs. 27 weeks). The most common indication fortracheostomy was airway disease (69.7%) in our study. Bronchopulmonary dysplasia(9%) was less frequent indication for tracheostomy in our study when comparedwith in the study A (41%). Granuloma formation was the most common complicationof tracheostomy (48%) and decannulation was accomplished in nine patients(27.3%). Although the mortality rate was 12.1%, no patient died from tracheostomyrelatedcomplications. Conclusion: Main causes of tracheostomy in our NICU are airway problems andneuromuscular diseases rather than bronchopulmonary dysplasia itself. For betterclarification of clinical courses and outcomes related to tracheostomy performed inNICU in Korea, further study in a larger population will be needed.
