Experimental studies and biosorption kinetics of an intraparticle diffusion model for acid dye removal using a musa spp. waste sorbent were carried out to find the removal effects and dynamics of various operating parameters, such as initial dye concentration, sorbent dosage, pH and temperature. Experimental data were modeled with kinetic models and two biosorption isotherms of intraparticle diffusion models as well as the physiochemical data of sorbents characterized by SEM and FT-IR. Kinetic studies showed that the sorption process follows second-order rate kinetics with an average rate constant of 0.0018675 (g/mg·min). Thermodynamic parameters such as entropy of biosorption (ΔS0), enthalpy of biosorption (ΔH0) and Gibbs free energy of biosorption (ΔG0) were obtained and analyzed. Sorbent, musa spp. waste (banana peel) was characterized by FTIR and SEM. The results showed that musa spp. waste can be considered as potential sorbent for the sorption of acid violet 54 from dilute aqueous solution.

Looking at current construction costs estimations of publicly declared public works, there are many instances where estimation criteria are ambiguous and doesn't imply the reality. Up to date, estimation criteria for calculating construction cost estimations are simply by unit area multiplication and stochastic construction cost estimation. However, possibility of making errors are high due to using uniform data that excludes each public work's specifications and environmental conditions. Further, on the aspect of cost management, there is certain limitation in the efficiency of cost management in order-placing stage and commencing-work stage; while efficient cost management and reduction of expenses are highly possible during initial stages of the project. In this respect, the paper adopts positive approach with regards to construction cost estimations of public works and draws common elements from calculation tables of the construction cost estimations from 3 completed domestic construction works; after which, the paper analyzes whether business exposition, construction guide and publicly-declared estimated construction costs that the orderer issued are calculated economically and properly; deducing problems in the process, the paper seeks to recommend rational calculation method on this. This article considers new and existing technologies for water reuse networks for water and wastewater minimization. For the systematic design of water reuse networks, the theory of the water pinch methodology and the mathematical optimization are described, which are proved to be effective in identifying water reuse opportunities. As alternative solutions, evolutionary solutions and stochastic design approaches to water system design are also illustrated. And the project work flow and an example in a real plant are examined. Finally, as development is in the forefront in process industries, this paper will also explore some research challenges encountered in this field such as simultaneous water and energy minimization, energy-pinch design, and eco-industrial parks (EIP)

Several data-driven prediction methods based on multiple linear regression (MLR), neural network (NN),and recurrent neural network (RNN) for the indoor air quality in a subway station are developed and compared. The RNN model can predict the air pollutant concentrations at a platform of a subway station by adding the previous temporal information of the pollutants on yesterday to the model. To optimize the prediction model, the variable importance in the projection (VIP) of the partial least squares (PLS) is used to select key input variables as a preprocessing step. The prediction models are applied to a real indoor air quality dataset from telemonitoring systems data (TMS), which exhibits some nonlinear dynamic behaviors show that the selected key variables have strong influence on the prediction performances of the models. It demonstrates that the RNN model has the ability to model the nonlinear and dynamic system, and the predicted result of the RNN model gives better modeling performance and higher interpretability than other data-driven prediction models.
