(연구배경 및 목적) 세계박람회는 국제적인 행사로서 박람회의 주제를 통한 인류현안의 해결책을 모색하여 새로운 패러다임을 제시하는 국제적인 행사이다. 본 연구는 세계박람회의 주제를 전달하기위하여 관람객들이 직접적으로 접하는 세계박람회의 회장구성을 분석하고자 하는 목적으로 연구를 시작하였다. 박람회장 조성은 개최지의 여건분석을 바탕으로 박람회장 구성 원칙에 따라 적절한 규모를 설정하여 필요한 시설 목록을 작성하고, 동선 계획을 포함한 공간 수요예측을 하여 최종적으로 해당 시설의 연면적과 부지 면적 및 세부 시설을 배치하는 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 박람회장의 공간 특성과 박람회장 부지이용현황을 조사하여 앞으로 박람회장을 계획하는데 필요한 요소를 도출하고자 한다. (연구방법) 본 연구는 세계박람회의 특성을 환경적, 물리적, 기능적으로 분석하고 박람회장의 공간 프로그램을 마련한다. 또한 박람회장 여러 가지 동선형태 중 관람객동선을 위주로 연구한다. 사례분석은 근대박람회 후기부터 현대박람회까지 개최국 및 기간, 관람객 수 및 참가국 수, 부지이용 비율, 시설이용 면적 등 박람회장을 다양한 각도에서 분석하여 연구를 진행하였다. (결과) 박람회장의 성격 및 시설을 비교 분석한 결과 부지선정은 주제를 반영하여 개최지의 자연·지리적 특성을 따라 선정되며, 박람회장의 부지는 시설면적보다 동선 면적이 더 넓게 계획되어 있었다. 또한 관람객 동선연결도의 형태가 요인별로 격자형(#형), 나열형(I형), 순환형(O형)으로 구분되었으며, 특이점은 면적이 100ha이상은 격자형이 많았다. 주제에 물과 관련된 내용이 들어갔을 경우 부지와 인접한 강이나 바다가 있었으며, 이를 이용하여 나열된 회장이 동선이 형성되었다. 순환형은 대부분 부지를 훼손하지 않고 사용하려고 했던 박람회장 동선에서 많이 나타났다. 또한 박람회장 시설배치는 참가국의 수가 많을수록 박람회장 시설이 늘어났으며, 박람회 종류에 따라 시설 비율이 달랐다. 그리고 박람회장의 공간구성은 사후활용계획에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. (결론) 박람회장의 중심공간은 주제구현을 나타내는 공간이며 관람객들이 중심공간 위주로 순환해야 한다. 세계박람회는 주제의 축을 따라 박람회장의 중심동선이 형성되며 박람회장 안에서 시설의 배치와 동선의 역할이 관람객들이 주제를 이해하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. (Background and Purpose) The World Expo is an international event that presents a new paradigm by seeking solutions to human issues through the theme of the exposition. The purpose of this study is to analyze the World Exposition Spatial Composition, which is directly exposed to the visitors in order to convey the theme of the World Expo. Based on the analysis of the conditions of the venue, it is necessary to set the appropriate scale according to the structure of the Expo site, to create the necessary facilities list, and to estimate the spatial plan. The purpose of this study is to investigate the spatial characteristics of the World Expo site and the use of the World Expo site. (Method) This study analyzed the environmental, physical, and functional characteristics of the World Expo, and prepared a spatial program for the Expo. In addition, the spatial program for the Expo focused on visitors' circulation among various forms of movement. The case studies were analyzed from various aspects of the World Expo Center including the host country and period, the number of participants, the number of participating countries, the ratio of site use, the area of facility use, and the Subsequent Application of Expo Sites from the late Modern World Expo to the recent World Expo. (Results) As a result of analyzing the characteristics and facilities of the World Expo site, site selection was done according to the nature and geographical characteristics of the venue, reflecting the theme. The venue of the venue was planned to have a larger area of the line than the area of the facility. In addition, the type of connection of visitors was divided into grid type (# type), array type (I type), and circulation type (O type). When water related contents were included in the subject, there was a river or sea adjacent to the site. Most of the circulation types appeared in the Dong-Sun Line of the World Expo, which was intended to be used without damaging the site. In addition, the number of participating countries increased the number of facilities in the Expo, and the ratio of facilities varied according to the type of the Expo. Also, the space configuration of the Expo had a great effect on the Subsequent Application of Expo Sites plan. (Conclusions) The center space of the World Expo is a space that represents the theme of the Expo, and visitors should concentrate on the central space. The World Expo forms the center line of the Expo center along the axis of the theme, and the arrangement of the facilities and the role of the line in the venue play an important role for the audience in understanding the subject.
