To solve the problem of tertiary emergency medical center. overcrowding and long hospital stay. it is very important to analyze arrival pattern of the emergency patients who visited tertiary emergency medical center and to reviewed 312 cases of patients who visited the four places emergency medical center which emergency medicine department specialist always stays in. of Seoul and Suwon teritory, from March 1 to May 31. 1997. The results were as follow : 1. Considering sexual distribution, male patients were 60.3% and female patients were 39.7% and the most common age group was 2th decade. 2. The result of symptom severity classification of patients coming emergency medical center was urgent patients 12.8%, emergency patients 29.8%, non-emergency patients 57.4% 3. The peak time of patient's enterance in emergency medical center was between 8: 00PM and 12:00 PM(26.7%), and most patients visited between 4:00 PM and 12:00 PM (out patients coming time) 4. In a week. Monday was the most crowding day (25.0%) 5. The most patients who visited emergency medical center needed surgical care due to injury & poisoning(27.9%) and second disease of them had circulatory system (17.6%) 6. The admission rate was 42.9% and 46.4% of admitted patients were non-emergency patients. 7. The rate of the urgent patients making use of 119 ambulance was 62.5%. emergency patients rate was 47.3% 8. The treatment result of patients in emergency medical center trended improving of urgent patients(improvement rate was 72.5%)

The purpose of this research which was conducted by surveying the transfer consultation records from 360 medical institutions such as general hospitals, hospitals, clinics to the Emergency Medical Center at E University Hospital for six months (Jan. 1,200 - Jun. 30. 2000) are to standardize & complete transfer consultation record of hospitals at the 1st c 2nd referral level and to give patients transferred emergency medical center medical information services on a better quality. The conclusions and suggestions from this study were summarized as follows: (1) Examing the distribution of the referral medical consultation(transfer) sheet types. urgery part local clinic sheet types were 34.4%, medial part local clinic sheet types were 26.7%, undifferentiated local clinic sheet types were 23.9% and hospital level sheet types were 15.0% (2) The items of the transfer consuitation records had been standardized more than 75% in the order of patient's name, date, doctor's name, diagnosis, patient's status, impressions (3) That the degree of recording completion on these items is in the order of patient's name, date, diagnosis, impressions was revealed. (4) Because the standardization and the degree of recording completion are very low in the patient's gender, age, address, electronic recording system was needed for more perfect input of initial patient informations. (5) This standardizing & complete recording on examination and medication will prevent re-examination and abuse of medication for patients transferred emergency medical center. (6) EMT Transfer System should be fixed in all medical institute for the standardizing & complete recording on care period and departure time will give many emergency patients the proper treatments at the proper time. (7) It was revealed that developing new standardized transfer consultation record & using electronic recording system are needed. (8) The complete recording & Fast Track System were needed for higher rate of bed operation at emergency medical center and more hospital profit.

Purpose: The purposes of this research were to study the validity of the National Examination based on smart based test(SBT) by 7 types of healthcare occupation. Methods: We conducted a questionnaires survey among 1,219 people including 210 professors for all 7 types of healthcare occupation and 573 clinical specialists ; 436 students from random sampling participated and the reliability of the questionnaire was tested using Cronbach’s alpha. Results: Professors from 7 types of healthcare occupation were investigated for their opinions on the introduction of the SBT system ; 65.9% of the professors answered positively on the introduction of the SBT National Examination System, while 40.1% of the clinical experts answered likewise. In particular, professors and the clinical experts recognized altogether that the multimedia questionnaire, being effective for the evaluation of clinical and practical competence of the subjects, enabling the evaluation of various areas and strengthening the school education in clinical practices, the 42.0% of the students from 7 departments answered that the future direction of the national test is in the SBT test system with significant difference (p=.000) found in students majoring in order of Emergency Medical Services, Radiology and Physical therapy, compared to students from other majors, showing the positive response to the SBT system. Conclusion: The results of this study comprehensively evaluated the positive recognition of development of multimedia items and SBT system in national examination of 7 types of healthcare occupation in professors, field specialists and students.
