Author examined clinical procedure, clinical application and clinical failure of castable glass ceramic (Dicor) crowns which were made at the Dept. of Prosthodontics, Seoul National University Hospital during 19 months from Jan. 1988 to July, 1989(Observation period:19 months). The author obtained the following results. 1. A total of 86 crowns were constructed ; Most of them has been set on maxillary central incisors(53 cases, 62%):maxillary lateral incisors(20 cases, 23%):maxillary canines(6 cases, 7%):others(7 cases, 8%) 2. Dicer could be used as a lamiate veneer for discolored tooth. 3. During the examination period(1-19 months), there was no fracture case. 4. Dicer could be applied on the maxillary anterior tooth with minimal occlusal force.
MARYLAND BRIDGE의 적용분포 및 결합실패에 관한 임상적 연구(I)

The purpose of this study was to examine the distribution and the bond failure of the acid-etched ceramometal retainer (Maryland Bridge). 126 subjects who treated by faculty and residents of Department of Prosthodontics, Seoul National University Hospital from Dec. 1982 to Dec. 1986 were selected for this study. From the foregoing study author obtained the following conclusions. 1. A total of 135 restorations were placed in the mouths of patients ranging in age from 11 to 10 years (man 62, woman 64). 2. Most restorations were applied to replace anterior teeth. 3. It was found that of the total number of bridges constructed 59.3 percent were the three-unit type. 4. Replacing one tooth mining was the most frequent cases (74.1 percent). 5. Of the total number of cases, 10.4 percent stowed bond failure. 6. The bond failure, author suggest, be due to one or more of mis-fit of framework, occlusion, material in itself, faulty case selection and lack of technique.

The author installed $3.75mm\times10mm$ $Br{\aa}nrmark$ osseointegrated implants and $3.5mm\times8mm$ I.T.I. hollow screw implants(Benefit) as a free standing abutment to replace lower left and right molars of 44-year-old female patient. Form the foregoing procedure, the author obtained the following results. 1. Free-standing $Br{\aa}nrmark$ and I.T.I. Hollow screw implants(Benefit) could be used to replace molars effectively without reduction of adjacent natural teeth, 2. Rotation of occlusal gold screw of $Br{\aa}nrmark$ implants was observed under occlusal force. 3. Adjustment of height of I.T.I. abutments was necessary in the mandibular second molar because of the limited occlusal clearance. 4. Form the oral examination, patient comments, panoramic and periapical radiographs, there were no pain, gingival imflammation and mobility, but slight reduction of alveolar bone level was shown around both implant systems. 5. Patient comments were comfortable on both systems. but the patient complained about economic problem of $Br{\aa}nrmark$ system and long treatment treatment time of both systems.
비작업측(非作業側) 치아접촉(齒牙接觸) 및 악관절(顎關節) 기능장애(機能障碍)에 관(關)한 임상적(臨床的) 연구(硏究)

A clinical evaluation was made on teeth in 113 subjects from ages 19 to 23 with Angle's Class I occlusion who were free from prosthesis, orthodontics, and occlusal equilibration. The study was made to determine if there was a relation between the type of occlusion, non-working contact and temporomandibular dysfunction. From the foregoing study, the author obtained the following results. 1. In lateral excursion, there was not any significant difference between bilateral canine protected occlusion (31%), bilateral group function (32.7%), and mixed type (34.5%). 2. Only 10 of 113 subjects studied had non-working side tooth contacts (8.2 per cent). 3. Twenty per cent of subjects with non-working side contact showed temporomandibular joint dysfunction. 4. Non-working side contacts were not observed in subjects with canine guided occlusion. 5. It would be premature to relate the type of occlusion on working side directly to temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
COMPUTERIZED T-SCAN SYSTEM을 이용한 정량적 교합분석방법에 관한 연구

The purpose of this preliminary report was to describe the operating procedure of T-scan system and to identify the location, timing and force of occlusal contact in patient with normal occlusion using computerized T-scan system. From the preliminary observation , the author obtained the following results. 1. T-scan system displayed 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional description of occlusion: contact locations, timing (sequence) and forces of occlusal contacts. 2. The T-scan sensor was the most important part of the T-scan system. 3. The data of T-scan system cannot be stored in computer diskett. 4. The T-scan system is thought to be the most effective system to detect occlusal contacts and can be applied to the followings : occlusal diagnosis, occlusal equilibration, crown and bridge restorative procedures, denture adjustment, implant procedures, splint adjustment, laboratory procedures, periodontal treatment, orthodontics, TMJ treatment and patient education etc.
