온라인 다독프로그램에 대한 초등영어학습자의 인식 조사연구

The main purpose of this current research study is to identify the primary English language learners’ perceptions on the educational effects of online extensive reading program, and to figure out any statistical differences based on the four different variables such as participants’ gender, grade, their English proficiency level, and length of English study time. To answer these questions, a total number of 105 students from a national elementary school in Gangwon province participated and answered a survey questionnaire, which was composed of 23 items in total, and the collected data were analyzed in a quantitative way using Jamovi program, which is an open and free comprehensive statistical software. The results revealed that overall perceptions of the online extensive reading program as well as affective factors, and satisfaction degree were positive a bit beyond average. The differences between genders showed that the mean of the female group was higher than the male one, and there was a significant difference between them. There was no significant difference between grades and English proficiency, however. Lastly, based on the length of English study time, there was a significant difference in affective factors, and satisfaction degree. Based on the findings, the pedagogical implications are later addressed.
온라인 동요 학습이 초등영어학습자들의 듣기능력과 정의적 특성에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to select and apply online English nursery rhymes suitable for learning in the EFL environment as an effective listening instruction method, and to examine the effect on the listening ability and affective domains of elementary English learners. To do so, the experiment was conducted by dividing the experimental group and the control group targeting 43 fourth graders of a public elementary school located in a county area in Gangwon-do. For data collection and analysis, English listening ability test was conducted before and after the test, and the questionnaire for affective domains was distributed, collected and analyzed. The results are as follows. First, the participants who are visual learners and familiar with digital media showed statistically significant improvement in listening in online nursery rhyme learning. Second, online English nursery rhyme-based learning had a positive effect on the affective domains of elementary English learners, that is, interest, confidence, immersion, motivation, and attitude. In particular, it was effective in arousing learning interest of participants and improving concentration of attention and understanding of pronunciation like native speakers.
