The authors analyzed the mean error score and the color deficiency of control group, non-retinopathic diabetic group, background retinopathy and proliferative retinopathy with Hahn' s Double 15-hue test. The results were follouing: 1. In diabetic group, 44 eyes were male and 56 eyes were female. Sixth decade occupied 35 eyes and seventh decade 28 eyes, fifth decade 15 eyes. 2. The mean error score was increased with age : under fifth decade was 5.12, sixth decade 5.52, over seventh decade 7.43. 3. There was no difference in mean error score and prevalence of tritanomaly between man and woman in control group and diabetic group. 4. Diabetic group more than 10 year duration was the highest in mean error score and prevalence of tritanomaly. 5. There was no difference in mean error score between the control group and non- retinopathic diabetic group but prevalence of tritanomaly was higher in non retinopathic diabetic group than in control group. 6. The severer diabetic retinopathy, the higher acquired tritanomaly.

Purpose: Postoperative endophthalmitis is a dreaded outcome of any intraocular surgery. Fungal endophthalmitis is a particularly severe complication that poses a significant threat of blindness. We experienced seven consecutive cases of postoperative fungal endophthalmitis stemming from a single local clinic in which extensive early intervention resulted in favorable final visual acuity. Methods: The present study is retrospective observational case series of fungal endophthalmitis. The initial case, as diagnosed by fungal culture, resulted in blindness. In the ensuing eight months, seven consecutive cases were referred to our institution. All were presumed to be fungal endophthalmitis as the cases possessed similar inflammatory findings to the preceding case and occurred in the same environment. Extensive surgical and antifungal treatment was immediately administered, including complete vitrectomy with removal of the intraocular lens and lens capsule and Amphotericin B injections. Results: Retinal infiltration was identified in three cases and the lesion site was photocoagulated with an endolaser. All cases were confirmed fungal endophthalmitis by culture (4 cases: Candida parapsilosis, one case each: Fusarium, Acremonium, Candida tropicalis) and five cases required secondary intraocular lens implantation. Final corrected visual acuity ranged from 20/20 to 40/200 by the Snellen chart. Conclusions: Early extensive surgical intervention and antifungal agent administration may result in favorable visual outcomes in patients with fungal endophthalmitis following cataract surgery.

The display technology on the retina is the key role in inspecting the condition of the patients. Especially, silt lamp biomicroscope is one of the important tools to inspect the patient's retina, because the slit lamp biomicroscope, the workhorse for ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment, is far more ubiquitous, and is now often equipped with video attachments to permit image capture for documentation, storage, and transmission. In many cases, image quality may be, in part, attributable to a narrow field of view and specular reflections arising from the cornea and sclera. In this paper, we have real time extraction of the feature of retina image portion and then edges of blood vessel in retina images are detected. Based on the edges of the retina images, every image is assembled for more wide image. The developed algorithms allowed for highly accurate alignment and blending of partially overlapping slit lamp biomicroscopic fundus images to generate a seamless, high quality and wide field image. Therefore we verified the possibility that video image were acquisition and processing algorithms for mosaicking and enhancement of slit lamp biomicroscopic fundus images. The improved quality and wide field of view may confer for inexpensive, real time photo-documentation of retina abnormalities.
