Actinomycosis is a chronic suppurative infection, which infiltrates mucosa-associated tissues. Actinomyces species is a gram-positive, anaerobic micro-organism, belonging to the resident flora of the oropharynx, gastrointestinal tract and female genital tract. Interruption of the mucosal barrier by local inflammation, traumatic or surgical injury is regarded as a predisposing factor for tissue infection. It is confirmed histologically by the presence of sulfur granules on the biopsy specimen. We experienced a case of endobronchial actinomycosis in a 71 year-old male. He had suffered from recurrent pneumonia for 10 years. Flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy demonstrated a endobronchial mass in the posterobasal segment of the left lower lobe and the biopsy was done. Histologic sections demonstrated multiple organized sulfur granules composed of densely tangled gram positive filaments typical of actinomyces in the bronchial submucosa. We observed an unusual presentation of thoracic actinomycosis, with recurrent pneumonia and an endobronchial tumor. The etiological diagnosis was confirmed by fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
45, X,-Y,t(8;17)(q22;p13)이 관찰된 급성골수성백혈병에서 Masked t(8;21)이 확인된 1예

The t(8;21)(q22;q22) is one of the most frequent structural chromosomal anomaly found in AML, occurring in about 5% of all AML and in 10% of AML with maturation (M2). And approximately 3.4% of AML with t(8;21)(q22;q22) occurs as a complex chromosomal abnormality and occasionally shows discrepancy between cytogenetic and molecular genetic analyses. We report a case of 42 yr old male patient that revealed morphological characteristics of AML-M2 and karyotypic abnormality of 45,X,-Y,t(8;17)(q22;p13) without visible involvement of chromosome 21 by conventional cytogenetic study with masked t(8;21) identified by FISH using RUNX1/RUNX1T1 probes. FISH confirmed nuc ish (RUNX1T1x3),(RUNX1x3),(RUNX1T1 con RUNX1x1). According to the results of conventional cytogenetic and FISH analyses, the karyotype was revised to 45,X,-Y,t(8;17;21)(q22;p13;q22).
저강도전처치 동종말초혈액조혈모세포이식을 시행한 골수섬유화를 동반한 급성범골수증식증

44세 남자 환자가 약 1개월 전부터 발생한 운동성 호흡곤란과 현기증을 주소로 내원하였다. 말초혈액바른표본에서 온혈구감소증과 3%의 모세포가 관찰되었다. 골수흡인검사는 건성천자로 인해 시행하지 못했고, 골수조직검사에서는 증가된 세포 충실도, 세 계열세포의 증식(범골수증식증), 심한 골수섬유화, 미성숙세포의 군집이 관찰되었다. 3일 동안 idarubicin 12mg/ m2와 7일 동안 cytosine arabinoside 100mg/m2으로 관해유도항암치료 후에 골수의 모세포는 감소하였으나, 온혈구감소증과 골수섬유화는 지속되고 있었다. 5일 동안의 fludarabine 30mg/m2와 2일 동안의 busulfan 3.2mg/ kg으로 전처치 후 조직적합항원 일치 동생으로부터 말초조혈모세포를 이식 받았다. 조기에 생착이 이루어졌고 골수섬유화도 사라졌다. 이식 후 22일째 short tandem repeats 분석을 통해서 완전 공여자 키메리즘이 확인되었고, 이후 1년 동안 유지되었다. 환자는 이식 후 20개월째 특별한 합병증 없이 생존하고 있다.

In this study, two fiber-optic sensors were fabricated to measure water level and temperature using optical fibers, a coupler, a Lophine and an OTDR (optical time-domain reflectometer). First, using Fresnel"s reflection generated at the distal-ends of each optical fiber, which was installed at different depth, we measured the water level according to the variation of water level. Next, we also measured the temperature of water using a temperature sensing probe based on the Lophine, whose absorbance changes with the temperature. The measurable temperature range of the fiber-optic sensor is from 5℃ to 65℃ because the maximum operation temperature of the optical fiber without a physical deterioration is up to 80℃.

In distributed video coding, low complexity encoder can be realized by shifting encoder-side complex processes to decoder-side. However, not only motion estimation/compensation processes but also complex LDPC decoding process are imposed to the Wyner-Ziv decoder, therefore decoder-side complexity has been one important issue to improve. LDPC decoding process consists of numerous iterative decoding processes, therefore complexity increases as the number of iteration increases. This iterative LDPC decoding process accounts for more than 60% of whole WZ decoding complexity, therefore it can be said to be a main target for complexity reduction. Previously, HDA (Hard Decision Aided) method is introduced for fast LDPC decoding process. For currently received parity bits, HDA method certainly reduces the complexity of decoding process, however, LDPC decoding process is still performed even with insufficient amount of parity request which cannot lead to successful LDPC decoding. Therefore, we can further reduce complexity by avoiding the decoding process for insufficient parity bits. In this paper, therefore, a parity request estimation method is proposed using bit plane-wise correlation and temporal correlation. Joint usage of HDA method and the proposed method achieves about 72% of complexity reduction in LDPC decoding process, while rate distortion performance is degraded only by -0.0275 ㏈ in BDPSNR.
