Rosin moiety-containing monomers were prepared by the reaction of abietic acid with 1,4-butanediol vinyl ether, ethylene glycol vinyl ether and diethylene glycol vinyl ether using diethyl azodicarboxylate as a catalyst. These new monomers were photo-polymerized to give thin films in the presence of a sulfonium salt containing long alkyl chain. The rate of photopolymerization and amount of cured polymer were determined using real-time infrared technique. The final conversion of double bond is achieved in less than 30sec.
아크릴계 공중합체에서 친수성가교제 특성에 따른 렌즈의 물리적 성질 변화

높은 함수율을 갖는 소프트렌즈를 제조하기 위하여 아크릴계 공중합체를 설계, 제조하였다. 공중합체용 모노머로 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA)를 사용하였고 가교제로는 ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA), glycerol dimethacrylate(GD) 혹은 glycerol 1,3-diglycerolate diacrylate (GDD)를 이용하여 렌즈를 제조하였다. 함수율 측정결과, 고함수율 렌즈는 기존의 36%에서 46%로 높게 나타났으며 접촉각도 38.6 에서 34.4 로 낮아져 표면 친수성이 높게 나타남을 확인하였다. 인장강도는 가교제의 친수성이 증가함에 따라 0.1MPa 에서 0.08 그리고 0.05 로 감소하였고 전자현미경으로 렌즈의 단면을 확인한 결과 상분리 현상은 나타나지 않았다. 광중합은 Real-time infrared(RTIR)로 측정하였는데 초기 중합 속도가 가교제에 따라 0.6 에서 0.9 로 나타났다. The acrylic copolymer was designed and prepared for soft lens with high content. The copolymers were prepared using 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) as a monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA), glycerol dimethacrylate(GD), or glycerol 1,3-diglycerolate diacrylate (GDD) as a cross linking agent. The water content for high water content lens was 46%, which was higher compared to general purpose of 36%. The contact angle decreased from 38.6 to 34.4, which appears hydrophilic surface. The tensile strength decreased from 0.1 Mpato 0.08, then again to 0.05 as hydrophilic properties of cross linking agents increased. No phase separation was observed in the cross section of lens using scanning electron microscope. The real-time infrared technique was used in photo-polymerization. The initial polymerization rate increased from 0.6 to 0.9, depending on crosslinking agent.

Conjugated polymers featuring a delocalized electronic structure have been developed into a class of promising materials for light-emitting diodes, electrochromic devices, p-electron polarization for nonlinear optics, charge transport for organic electronics, and chemo- and bio-sensors. Here, A new polyacetylene derivative was synthesized by the ring-forming polymerization of 4,4-bis[(trifluoro acetoxy) methyl]-1,6-heptadiyne using transition metal catalysts. The activity of Mo-based catalysts was found to be more higher than that of W-based catalysts. The resulting conjugated polymer was mostly insoluble in organic solvents because of the cross-linking reaction of polymer itself during the polymerization process. The IR spectrum of polymer did not show the acetylenic C≡C and ≡C-H stretching frequencies. And the resulting polymers were found to be mostly amorphous.

고등 복합재료 구조물 제작에 적용되는 고온경화용 에폭시 수지 시스템 경화물의 물리적 특성을 연구하였다. 고온경화용 에폭시 수지 경화물의 표면 몰폴로지는 저온경화용 수지 시편의 표면과는 달리 균일한 몰폴로지를 보여주었다. 이 수지 경화물의 열중량분석 결과 300 oC까지는 무게감소가 거의 없는, 즉 열적으로 매우 안정한 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 높은 가교화밀도에 기인한 것이다. 300-500 oC 영역에 서 급격한 무게감도는 매트릭스 수지의 본격적인 열분해에 기인한 것이다. 시편의 인장 및 압축 특성, 열 변형온도, 밀도, 부피수축 등의 특성을 측정하고 평가하였다. The physical properties of high temperature cured epoxy resin system for the preparation of high performance composite structures were measured and evaluated. The surface morphology of high-temperature cured epoxy specimens was found to be more homogeneous than that of the low-temperature cured specimens. The TGA analysis of cured epoxy specimens revealed that the high temperature-cured specimens are thermally stable up to 300 oC and an abrupt decomposition of epoxy matrix was observed in the temperature ranges of 300-500 oC. The physical and mechanical properties of cured epoxy specimens such as tensile strength, flexual strength, heat distortion temperature, density, shrinkage, etc were tested and discussed.
