Complete genome sequence of Vibrio sp. HNIBRBA4764 isolated from a halophyte

Vibrio sp. HNIBRBA4764 was isolated from the root of halophyte Artemisia fukudo Makino and we report the complete genome sequence of the strain. The HNIBRBA4764 genome was consisted of two chromosomes with total length of 3.5 and 1.0 Mb, and the DNA G + C content of 46.0 and 45.0%, respectively. A total of 3,952 protein-coding genes, 25 rRNAs, and 90 tRNAs were identified in the HNIBRBA4764 genome. The HNIBRBA4764 genome shared more than 98.2% of the average nucleotide identity with the genome of Vibrio ruber LMG 23124T and contained genes for the biosynthesis of two antibiotics, prodigiosin and carbapenem.
Complete genome sequence of Pseudomonas sp. HNIBRBA3361 isolated from a halophyte

Pseudomonas sp. HNIBRBA3361 was isolated from the root of Zoysia sinica Hance and we reported the complete genome sequence for this strain. The genome of strain HNIBRBA3361 consisted of a single circular chromosome with the overall length of 4.5 Mb and the DNA G + C content of 66.0%. The genome showed the highest taxonomic relatedness with P. lalucatii R1b-54T and P. benzenivorans DSM 8628T on the base of the 16S rRNA gene similarity (98.6%) and the average nucleotide identity (85.3%), respectively. The HNIBRBA3361 genome contained a total of 4,045 protein-coding genes, 15 rRNAs and 65 tRNAs, and genes involved in the biosynthesis of compounds promoting plant growth and the degradation of xenobiotics.
Complete genome sequence of Algibacter luteus HNIBRBA226 isolated from coastal seawater

Cells of the genus Algibacter belonging to the family Flavobacteriaceae are known as Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped, and gliding bacteria. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of A. luteus HNIBRBA226 isolated from coastal seawater. The strain showed the highest sequence similarity in 16S rRNA gene sequence with A. luteus P7-3-5T (99.9%). The HNIBRBA226 genome contained a circular chromosome of 3.7 Mb with the DNA G + C content of 33.5 mol%. A total of 3,208 protein coding genes, 7 rRNAs, and 39 tRNAs were identified in the HNIBRBA226 genome. The HNIBRBA226 genome shared more than 96.1% of the average nucleotide identity with the P7-3-5T genome, but uniquely contained cellulase.
A report on 10 unrecorded bacterial species isolated from the Korean islands in 2022

To obtain unrecorded bacterial species from Korean islands, various samples were collected from the islands in 2022. After plating the samples on marine agar or Reasoner’s 2A, and incubating aerobically, approximately 1,200 bacterial strains were isolated and identified using 16S rRNA gene sequences. A total of 10 strains showed ≥98.7% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with the bacterial species that were validly published but not reported in Korea. The unrecorded bacterial strains belong to three phyla, five classes, 10 orders, 10 families, and 10 genera, which are assigned to Sphingomonas, Falsirhodobacter and Asticcacaulis of the class Alphaproteobacteria; Colwellia and Halomonas of the class Gammaproteobacteria; Chitinophaga of the class Chitinophagia; Chryseobacterium of the class Flavobacteriia; Microlunatus, Zhihengliuella, and Streptomyces of the class Actinomycetia. The details of the unreported species including Gram reaction, colony and cell morphology, biochemical characteristics, and phylogenetic position are also provided in the description of the strains.
