      • 색상 정보를 이용한 관절체의 3차원 모션 파라메타 추정

        In this paper describes a method of inducing three dimensional motion parameters sampling human figure's features from the images, which are obtained from two stereo cameras. In this method, the images are acquired from attaching minimum numbers of color markers to joints, and features of the joints are gained from using Color Segmentation Algorithm. Three dimensional points can be obtained using Stereo Geometry after calculating of the correspondence of two images' points, and then three dimensional parameters can be induced through analyzing these values with time axis. One of the distinctive features of this pater is that recognition results are not influenced by the input images' noise, for using previously arranged color markers. In addition, remarkably practical system production will be possible due to utilizing Stereo Geometry.

        Standardization Study on the Method of Measuring the Tensile Strength of Contact Lenses

        This study was conducted to evaluate the necessity of the tensile strength in the standardization for contact lenses by comparing and analyzing the properties of contact lenses manufactured by adding carbon nanotubes with high strength and hydrophilic materials to the basic hydrogel contact lens material. For the carbon nanotubes (the additives), SW_CNT (carbon nanotube, single-walled), SW_CCNT (carbon nanotube, single-walled, carboxylic-acid-functionalized), and SW_CPNT (carbon nanotube, single-walled, poly- [ethylene glycol]-functionalized) were used as the ones with different chemical structures. In addition, hydrophilic materials (MA [methacrylate] and PEGMA [polyethylene glycol methacrylate]) were used to evaluate the correlation between the water content and the tensile strength. The physical properties of the manufactured lens are summarized as follows. Compared to REF, the water content of the carbon-nanotube-added lens decreased while its tensile strength increased. In addition, when PEGMA and MA were added to the carbon nanotube, the water content of MA increased more than that of PEGMA, showing a big difference. When PEGMA and MA were added to the SW_CCNT and SW_CPNT groups, however, the tensile strength of the two hydrophilic materials did not change significantly. Therefore, it is considered that the water content and tensile strength results may not always be proportional, and that the tensile strength is an important index for evaluating the durability of lenses. Therefore, a tensile strength standard should be established by standardizing the format for evaluating it for accurate performance evaluation.

        Standardization of Wettability Evaluation for Ophthalmic Hydrogel Lenses

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for standardization of wettability, which is one of the physical properties of contact lenses. This study compared the physical properties of lenses fabricated by adding materials with different wettability levels to basic hydrogel materials to analyze the necessity of standardized specifications for the wettability of lenses. To fabricate lenses, HEMA (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate), ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA, a crosslinking agent), and azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN, an initiator) were copolymerized by adding N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP) and methacrylic acid (MA), which are known as hydrophilic substances, as well as methyl methacrylate (MMA) and butyl methacrylate (BMA), which are known as hydrophobic substances. The refractive index, water content, contact angle, atomic force microscope (AFM), and spectral transmittance were measured to evaluate the basic properties of the fabricated lenses. The results showed that the water content of the hydrogel lens with MMA and BMA decreased by 14 and 27%, respectively, and the water content of the hydrogel lens with NVP and MA increased by about 5 and 28%, respectively, compared to REF. In the case of wettability, that of the hydrogel lens with MMA and BMA decreased by about 6%, and that of the hydrogel lens with NVP and MA increased by 1 and 23%, respectively, compared to REF. Except for the hydrogel lens with MA added, the changes were minimal. Wettability is a major factor affecting the wearing comfort of contact lenses, but there are currently no standardized specifications for it. In addition, the result of the water content in the standardized specifications was not proportional to the wettability result. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately evaluate the performance of the contact lens by standardizing the wettability measurement method.

        Analysis of Physical and Antibacterial Properties of Functional Silicone Hydrogel Ophthalmic Lenses Containing Graphene Groups

        The physical and antibacterial properties of ophthalmic lenses fabricated by copolymerization with hydrogel monomers using two types of graphene were measured, and their usability as contact lens materials was analyzed. For polymerization, silicone monomers, including SID-OH, 3-(methacryloxy)propyl tris(trimethylsiloxy)silane, and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, were used, and N,N-dimethylacetamide, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a crosslinking agent, and azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator were added. Also, graphene oxide nanoparticle (GON) and graphene nanoplate (GNP) were used as an additive, and the physical properties of the lenses fabricated after copolymerization were evaluated. The fabricated lenses satisfied the basic physical properties of general hydrogel contact lenses and showed the characteristics of lenses with high water content, and the disadvantage of very weak durability, due to low tensile strength. However, it was confirmed that the tensile strength and antibacterial properties were greatly improved by adding GON and GNP. With GON, the oxygen permeability and refractive index of the fabricated lenses were slightly improved. Therefore, it was determined that the graphene materials used in this study can be used in various ways as a contact lens material.

        Brain ultrasonographic findings of late-onset circulatory dysfunction due to adrenal insufficiency in preterm infants

        Purpose: The aim of this study was to characterize the brain ultrasonographic findings of lateonsetcirculatory dysfunction (LCD) due to adrenal insufficiency (AI) in preterm infants. Methods: Among the 257 preterm infants born at <33 weeks of gestation between December2009 and February 2014 at our institution, 35 preterm infants were diagnosed with AI. Brainultrasonographic findings were retrospectively analyzed before and after LCD in 14 preterminfants, after exclusion of the other 21 infants with AI due to the following causes: death (n=2),early AI (n=5), sepsis (n=1), and patent ductus arteriosus (n=13). Results: Fourteen of 257 infants (5.4%) were diagnosed with LCD due to AI. The age at LCDwas a median of 18.5 days (range, 9 to 32 days). The last ultrasonographic findings before LCDoccurred showed grade 1 periventricular echogenicity (PVE) in all 14 patients and germinalmatrix hemorrhage (GMH) with focal cystic change in one patient. Ultrasonographic findingsafter LCD demonstrated no significant change in grade 1 PVE and no new lesions in eight (57%),grade 1 PVE with newly appearing GMH in three (21%), and increased PVE in three (21%)infants. Five infants (36%) showed new development (n=4) or increased size (n=1) of GMH. Twoof three infants (14%) with increased PVE developed cystic periventricular leukomalacia (PVL)and rapid progression to macrocystic encephalomalacia. Conclusion: LCD due to AI may be associated with the late development of GMH, increased PVEafter LCD, and cystic PVL with rapid progression to macrocystic encephalomalacia.

        여아 난소 및 대망 서혜부 탈장의 초음파 및 임상적 소견

        Purpose: To characterize the ultrasonographic and clinical findings of inguinal hernia containing the ovary or omentum in girls. Materials and Methods: We studied 46 girls (49 cases) who were diagnosed with inguinal hernia on ultrasonography between March 2009 and December 2015. The ultrasonographic findings were retrospectively analyzed with respect to location, age at detection, contents of hernia, diameter of the canal of Nuck, and incidence of reducibility, incarceration and strangulation. The clinical findings included the number of cases that underwent operation, contents of hernia discovered during operation, and duration between ultrasonographic diagnosis and operation. The two groups in which inguinal hernia contained the ovary and omentum were statistically compared. Results: Of the 49 cases, the contents of hernia were the ovary or tube in 14 cases, omentum in 32 cases, and bowel in 3 cases. The ovarian herniation group was significantly younger (10.1 months vs. 4.9 years, p < 0.001), had a lower incidence of reducibility (n = 3 vs. n = 29, p < 0.001), higher incidence of incarceration (n = 4 vs. n = 0, p = 0.006), and a shorter duration between ultrasonographic diagnosis and operation (5.7 days vs. 55.8 days, p = 0.032) than the omental herniation group. Conclusion: The ovarian herniation group was younger, had a lower incidence of reducibility, higher incidence of incarceration, and a shorter duration between ultrasonographic diagnosis and operation. 목적: 여아에서 난소 및 대망 서혜부 탈장의 초음파 및 임상적 소견을 알아보고자 한다. 대상과 방법: 2009년 3월부터 2015년 12월까지 여아이면서 초음파상에서 서혜부 탈장을 진단받은 46명(49예)의 초음파및 임상적 소견을 후향적으로 분석하였다. 초음파 검사에서 서혜부 종괴의 위치, 진단시 나이, 탈장 내용물, 서혜관의 크기, 자발적인 복원, 감돈 및 교액 여부 등을 평가하였다. 임상적 소견으로는 수술을 한 증례 수, 수술장 소견에서 탈장의내용물, 초음파 진단과 수술 치료까지의 기간을 평가하였다. 탈장의 내용물이 난소인 그룹 A와 대망인 그룹 B로 나누어상기 항목들을 비교 분석하였다. 결과: 총 49예 중에서 탈장 내용물이 난소 및 부속기는 14예(29%), 대망은 32예(65%), 장은 3예(6%)였다. 탈장의 내용물이 난소인 그룹 A는 대망인 그룹 B와 비교하여 더 어린 나이(평균, 10.1개월 vs. 4.9세, p < 0.001), 더 낮은 자발적인 복원의 빈도(n = 3 vs. n = 29, p < 0.001), 더 높은 감돈의 빈도(n = 4 vs. n = 0, p = 0.006) 및 더 짧은 진단과 수술 치료까지의 기간(평균, 5.7일 vs. 55.8일, p = 0.032)을 보였다. 결론: 초음파 검사는 여아에서 난소 및 대망 서혜부 탈장을 진단하는 데 유용하고, 난소 탈장의 경우 더 어린 나이, 더 낮은 자발적인 복원의 빈도, 더 높은 감돈의 빈도 및 더 빠른 수술적 치료를 하는 경향을 보인다

        Fatty Degeneration and Atrophy of Rotator Cuffs: Comparison of Immediate Postoperative MRI with Preoperative MRI

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the grade of fatty degeneration and atrophy of rotator cuffs on immediate postoperative MRI to those on preoperative MRI in patients with rotator cuff tears. Materials and Methods: Seventy patients were included in this study, who received arthroscopic rotator-cuff repair and underwent both preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and immediate postoperative MRI in our institution. Fatty degeneration of rotator cuffs and the atrophy of supraspinatus muscles were evaluated with T1 oblique sagittal images in the Y-shaped view. Fatty degeneration was evaluated using a Goutallier classification system, and the atrophy of supraspinatus muscles was evaluated using a modified tangent sign and a visual occupation ratio. Results: From 70 patients, a total of 100 tendons were repaired: 18, 69, and 13 tendons were treated for subscapularis, supraspinatus, and infraspinatus, respectively. The Goutallier grades (P = 0.012), modified tangent signs (P = 0.000), and visual occupation ratios (P = 0.000) of supraspinatus muscles were significantly decreased in immediate postoperative MRIs when compared to preoperative MRIs. In immediate postoperative MRIs, the Goutallier grades of supraspinatus muscles were decreased by one grade in 18.8% (n = 13) of the patients, and the atrophy of supraspinatus muscles was improved by one grade in 26.1% (n = 18) for modified tangent signs and 21.7% (n = 15) for visual occupation ratios. However, fatty infiltration by the Goutallier grades of subscapularis (P = 1.000) and infraspinatus (P = 0.157) muscles were not significantly changed after arthroscopic surgery. Conclusion: Immediate postoperative MRIs showed a significant improvement of fatty degeneration and muscle atrophy in supraspinatus muscles when compared to preoperative MRIs.
