Microstructures and Multiferroic Properties of Electrospun BiFeO_3 Nanofibers

In this study, BiFeO_3 (BFO) nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning. Their microstructures and magnetic properties were studied with field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Process parameters are the viscosity of the solution, the applied voltage and tip-to-collector distance. We investigated the correlations between these parameters and the physical properties. The shape of the fibers was controlled by adjusting the viscosity of the solution and the electric field. BFO fibers electro-spun at an electric field of 1.8 kV/cm showed diameters of approximately 200 nm after being calcined at 500 ℃ The calcined BFO nanofibers had a polycrystalline phase with a perovskite structure and exhibited a weak ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature.

Electropulsing treatment (EPT) has been developed as an alternative to furnace heat treatment (FHT) to exploit its engineering advantages in rapidly annealing metallic materials. Conventionally, the separation of thermal and athermal effects of EPT has been attempted by comparing EPT and FHT specimens processed under identical temperature and duration. However, this method inherently introduces experimental and measurement errors. This study proposes a novel approach to distinguish the thermal and athermal effects of EPT-processed metals using T-shaped specimen with two observation points, namely ‘C’ and ‘D’. For verification, the thermal gradient of T-shaped Mg alloys was examined under various EPT conditions. The points C exhibited higher temperatures compared to those at points D at a given electric current density, because only the former received both thermal and athermal effects. It was confirmed from twelve specimens that the point C at an electric current density of 65 A·mm−2 and point D at 70 A·mm−2 exhibited similar temperatures. This developed method is expected to reduce measurement errors in distinguishing thermal and athermal effects, thus providing a deeper understanding of their quantitative contributions in future studies.

AlN thin films were deposited on p-type Si(100) substrates by RF magnetron sputtering method. This study showed the change of the preferential orientation of AlN thin films deposition with the change of the deposition conditions such as sputtering pressure and Ar/N2 gas ratio in chamber. It was identified by X-ray diffraction patterns that AlN thin film deposited at low sputtering pressure has a (002) orientation, however its preferred orientation was changed from the (002) to the (100) orientation with increasing sputtering pressure. Also, it was observed that the properties of AlN thin films such as thickness, grain size and surface roughness were largely dependent on Ar/$N_2$ gas ratio and a high quality thin film could be prepared at lower nitrogen concentration. AlN thin films were investigated relationship between preferential orientation and deposition condition by using XRD, FE-SEM and PFM.

1949년 이전에 허린(賀麟)은 “유가사상의 현대화”라는 목표 아래 “논리 주체”를 중심으로 한 “새로운 심학”(新心學), 곧 논리적인 마음이 주도하는 唯心論을 구상했다. 신헤겔주의와 칸트 철학을 참고하여 육왕심학을 論理化하려는 이 시도는 주관(心)의 도덕적 자각에 치중한 陸王心學과 초월적 실재(理)의 보편성에 치중한 程朱理學의 두 편향을 해소하기 위함이었다. 그는 이것이 송명리학이 남긴 현대적 과제라고 생각했다. 그가 논리적 인식의 주체를 세우는 데 필요한 서양철학 자료들을 중국철학으로 이식하여 “신심학’을 구상한 것은 도덕주체의 직관이 부각된 전통적 학설로부터 논리주체의 이지가 새롭게 부각되는 현대적 이론으로 전환함을 뜻한다. 곧 신심학의 주제는 ‘인식주체’의 정립이며, 이 주제는 훗날 모우종산(牟宗三)이 전면적으로 수행하였다. 모우종산이 전통유학으로부터 “지성주체”를 전환해 낸다(轉出)는 강령을 세운 것도 서구 과학지식을 유학사상 속으로 끌어들여야 한다는 허린을 비롯한 현대 신유가의 시대적 사명의식과 동일선상에 있다. 허린의 “새로운 심학(新心學)” 곧 “논리적 심학”은 그 개인의 특수한 철학적 취향이나 관심에서 나온 것은 아니다. 그것은 국체ㆍ민족ㆍ역사ㆍ문화의 총체적 위기를 의미하는 1930~40년대 중국이라는 시공간에서 근대 지향적인 육왕심학의 전통을 계승한 대다수 현대 신유가들의 공통적 지향이 반영된 것이다.
