This study conducted IRT(Infrared Themography) test for Small Bore Pipe specimen artificial Wall Thinning defect to find an optimal condition for IRT for Wall Thinned nuclear Piping components. In the Experiment two Halogen Lamps, whose full power capacity are 1 kW, werw used to heat specimens, and the exposure distance between specimen and Lamp and the Lamp power were considered as experimental parameters. Image of defect in Small Bore Pipe specimen was clearer under the conditions of higher Lamp power and shorter exposure distance than under the conditions of lower Lamp power and longer exposure distance. Also, it was indicated that IRT showed similar detectability for Small Bore Pipe specimens, but the optimal test condition for IRT depended on the specimen type.
