In this study, we produced a light, flexible, wearable gas sensor by depositing MWCNTs (Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes) into nylon. MWCNTs are widely used as a gas sensor material due to their excellent mechanical, electrical and physical characteristics. We produced a gas sensor to detect NOx gases by depositing nylon yarn in a MWCNT solution. The MWCNT solution was made by mixing 3 mg MWCNT in 5 ml of ethanol. Nylon yarn was placed in the manufactured solution and ultrasonic waves were applied using an ultrasonicator for 3 h, resulting in MCWNT deposition. The MWCNT-deposited nylon yarn was dried at room temperature for 24 h. The MWCNT-thin-film-coated nylon yarn was masked 1 mm apart, and gold was then deposited on the masked nylon yarn to create the gas sensor. The sensor then was installed in a chamber with a controlled atmospheric environment and exposed to NOx gas. The changing signal from the sensor was amplified to analyze its gas detection characteristics.

In this study, we fabricated an NOX gas sensor using a composite film of multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNT)/zinc oxide (ZnO). Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) show good electronic conductivity and chemical-stability, and zincoxide (ZnO) is a wide band gap semiconductor with a large exciton binding energy. Gas sensors require characteristicssuch as high speed, sensitivity, and selectivity. The fabricated gas sensor was used to detect NOX gas at different NOXconcentrations. The sensitivity of the gas sensor increased with increasing gas concentrations. Additionally, while changingthe temperature inside the chamber containing the MWCNT/ZnO gas sensor, we obtained the sensitivity and normalizedresponses for detecting NOX gas in comparison to ZnO and MWCNT film gas sensors. From the experimental results, weconfirmed that the gas sensor sensing mechanism was enhanced in the composite-film gas-sensor and that the electronicinteraction between MWCNT and ZnO contributed to the improved sensor performance.

Background: The inferior vena cava filter (IVCF) is very effective for preventing pulmonary embolism in patients w ho cannot u ndergo a nticoagulation t herapy. However, if a f ilter i s placed i n the body permanently, i t may lead to other complications. Methods: A retrospective study was performed of 159 patients who underwent retrievable Cook Celect IVCF implantation between January 2007 and April 2015 at a single center. Baseline characteristics, indications, and complications caused by the filter were investigated. Results: The most common underlying disease of patients receiving the filter was cancer (24.3%). Venous thrombolysis or thrombectomy was the most common indication for IVCF insertion in this study (47.2%). The most common complication was inferior vena cava penetration, the risk of which increased the longer the filter remained in the body (p=0.032, Exp(B)=1.004). Conclusion: If the patient is able to retry anticoagulation therapy and the filter is no longer needed, the filter should be removed, even if a long time has elapsed since implantation. If the filter c annot be r emoved, it i s recommended t hat follow-up c omputed tomography b e performed regularly to monitor the progress of venous thromboembolisms as well as any filter-related complications.

Pneumocephalus can be developed after a dural puncture, which occurs in association with epidural procedures. A 37-year-old,gestational age 40 weeks, pregnant woman was admitted for vaginal delivery. She asked for epidural analgesia when she suffers with labor pain. Epidural anesthesia was done at the L3-L4 interspace with the loss of resistance technique, using air. During the identification of the epidural space, an accidental dural puncture was diagnosed by observing a free flow of CSF, through the needle. The patient developed headache 2 hours later. She was treated with hydration, oxygen, analgesics and the autologus blood patch procedure was done, at the L4-L5 interspace. Despite these measures, the patient’s symptoms worsened with nausea and vomiting. A brain CT scan showed the presence of pneumocephalus. After 100%oxygen therapy and metoclopramide injection, she was discharged on postpartum 2 days, without any complications.
