The purpose of this study is to examine the effects that family support program intended to provide a base for a support group for the parents of disabled children, enable a constructive approach using problem solving strategies and readjust the perception that families have in difficult situations, have on the stress levels, self-efficacy and coping capabilities of the disabled parents. The subjects for this study were the parents of mentally retarded elementary school children and emotionally disturbed elementary school children, attending 'A School for the Mental Retardation' in Seoul. There were two groups, one comprised of 10 parents in a test group and the other 10 parents in a control group. The family support program was carried out in two-hour sessions, for eight sessions, seven weeks, in the test group. In the control group, the program was not applied but parents attended regular parent meetings at the school. The relatives' stress scale(RSS), the generalized self-efficacy scale(GSE), the coping health inventory for parents(CHIP) were used in measuring the differences between the two groups after the program was applied. The results were verified with the paired samples t-test to comprehend the homogeneity of the two groups, and the ANCOVA was applied to verify the effects of the program. The results of this research were as follows. First, the stress level in the test group decreased significantly, compared to the control group. Second, self-efficacy in the families participating in the test group, significantly improved, compared to the control group. Task-efficacy, coping efficacy, and controlled emotions efficacy which are the lower areas of self efficacy, improved significantly in the test group, compared with the control group. Third, the coping capabilities in the families participating in the family support program showed significant increases. Unity in family, cooperation and positive definition of circumstances, social support and psychological stability, all lower areas of coping capabilities, also showed significant improvement statistically in the test group compared with the control group. Through the results of the research, it was established that the family support program is effective in decreasing stress, and improving self-efficacy and coping capabilities. The results show that providing a base for the formation of a support group, implementing problem solving strategies and the active use of such strategies and family support programs which brings about the efforts to look for practical methods of readjusting perceptions of the difficult situation of the family, are effective methods of decreasing stress, increasing self-efficacy and coping abilities of parents. It is possible to draw a deduction that the significant improvement of self efficacy and coping abilities, the most important elements in the lower section of family empowerment, have positively influenced empowerment in the families. Thus with the results of the research, family support programs, can be seen as an effective method of empowerment in families of disabled children.

Autologous free toe transfer is excellent and preferred method of the functional reconstruction of the amputated digits. But this method has many drawbacks such as poor esthetic result, great donor site morbidity, long operation and hospitalization period and high cost. So we need new treatment modality to solve these problems. We reconstructed amputated fourth & fifth fingers of 26 year-old male patient with the osseointegrated prostheses. We placed the titanium fixture(Brenmark co.) into the stump bone and 5 months later, connected the percutaneous abutment to the fixture head. The silicone finger prosthesis that was produced by specialized prosthodontist was attached to the abutment. The finger prosthesis not only looks like normal digit - good color match & near-normal shape, but also carry some conducted proprioception which increases the precision in fine-motor activities. And it increases contact surface on grip and grip strength. In conclusion, reconstruction of the amputated digit with osseointegrated prosthesis becomes an attractive alternative in less functional ulnar side 3 digits of properly selected patients who want better esthetic results.

Kitchen hoods are limited in discharging all contaminants produced during cooking. Contaminants that have not been discharged can rise to the upper part of the kitchen and become stacked. To solve this problem, there is a way to increase the air volume of the kitchen hood, but there are limits, so a new system is required. This study proposes the Duct System (IADK : Inducing Airflow Duct system for Kitchen hood )through 3D printers and experiments. To do this, the pressure is measured to verify the three levels of air volume provided by the kitchen hood. To check the degree of loss of flow in the existing kitchen hood system, install flexible ducts alone to measure the pressure. Change the internal diameter and type of connection of the IADK and measure the pressure. The air pressure, static pressure difference, and loss factor are calculated and analyzed using the pressure measured through the experiment.

To study the effects of graphite shape and the composite fabricating method on the mechanical properties of graphite/copper (Gr/Cu) composites, a copper composite using graphite flakes or graphite granules as reinforcing phases is fabricated using mechanical mixing or electroless plating method. The mechanical properties of the Gr/Cu composites are evaluated by compression tests, and the compressive strength and elongation of the Gr/Cu composites using graphite granules as a reinforcing phase are compared with those of Cu composites with graphite flakes as a reinforcing phase. The compressive yield strength or maximum strength of the Gr/Cu composites with graphite granules as a reinforcing phase is higher than that of the composites using graphite flakes as a reinforcing phase regardless of the alignment of graphite. The strength of the composite produced by the electroless plating method is higher than that of the composite material produced by the conventional mechanical mixing method regardless of the shape of the graphite. Using graphite granules as a reinforcing phase instead of graphite flakes improves the strength and elongation of the Gr/Cu composites in all directions, and reduces the difference in strength or elongation according to the direction.
