As the casting technique developed and production of delicate casting products became available, the call for control of precise defects and for an accurate analysis of the reasons behind the defect occurrence is getting higher. it is important to estimate the position and the reasons for defects through fluid analysis to eliminate casting defects, thermal analysis and stress analysis.This paper suggests that the casting process using nodular cast iron and using computer simulation for the design principles for die design and for process interpretation. In the process interpretation, the speed control of fluid in the runner and ingate is important in the cast quality. Hence, the process speed and solidification process must be analyzed on the perspective of the thermal and fluid analysis. And based on the results, the curve block pin jig for vertical compressive load support was produced and the produced parts were verified for quality.

Currently knowledge of strain in welds has mainly been obtained from strain gage method; that is directly attaching the gage to the most of the material. The very flew non-contact methods are still in the early stage. One of the non-contact methods is by the use of the laser that has high-level of the accuracy for the measurement, and this laser also has excellent characteristics on which many studies for its applications are focused throughout the many fields. The paper is on the measurement of the strain caused by the characteristics and the temperature changes of the GTA welded zone employed with 3D ESPI system that is functionally modified through the laser ESPI system. This system may be applied the steel plate such as for the electronics, chemistry, flood instrument and electronic appliances.

In a recent trend where an industry is highly advanced and an environment preservation is emphasized, They also perform various researches on improving production process and developing new systems. In the pressing forging process among the semi-solid casting process, heated aluminum alloy turns into a semisolid state mixed with solid and fluid around at the fusion point. The solid is achieved in dendrite which remains in a fine solid state of globular shape stuck together. If it is placed in the mold, it maintains its shape independently like the solid. If it is pressed, it comes to have the state similar to the fluid and consequently is easily cast in the metal mold. It also aims to estimate the exact casting state of product through Super forge 2005, a program to interpret finite factors in order to perform forge die casting of plate in the middle of valve body in the car automatic transmission. Furthermore, it assesses the change of the distribution and transformation ratio.
정밀주조 다이캐스팅을 이용한 자동차 레귤레이터 하우징 성형해석에 관한 연구

The casting defects that are caused by molten metal were cold shut formation, entrapment of air, gas, and inclusion. But the control of casting defects has been based on the experience of the foundry engineers. In this thesis, the computer simulation analyzed the flow of molten metal. The quantitative analyses which proposed the effective mold design was executed Flow patterns of 0.1-0.16m/s molten metal in 15mm thin plate casting were investigated in order to optimize die-casting process. As increasing ingate velocity in thin plate casting, cold shot was decreased. The parameters of runner shape that affected on the optimized conditions that was calculated with simple equation were investigated. These die casting process control techniques of automobile regulator housing parts have achieved good agreement with the experimental data of tensile strength, hardness test, and material structure photographies satisfactory results.

Two dissimilar materials, aluminum alloy Al5083-O and advanced high strength steel DP590, were successfullyjoined by using friction stir spot joining (FSSJ). Satisfactory joint strengths were obtained at a rotational speed of300 rpm and a plunge depth of 0.7 mm. Resulting joints were welded without a non-welded zone. This may beattributed to the enhanced smooth material flow owing to sufficient stirring effect and tool down force between theupper Al5083-O side and the lower DP590 side. The maximum tensile shear strength was 6.5 kN, which washigher than the joint strength required by the conventional method of resistance spot welding. The main fracturemode was plug fracture in the tensile shear test of joints. An intermetallic compound (IMC) layer with <6 μm thicknesswas formed at the joint interface, which meets the allowance value of <10 μm for the dissimilar material Al-Fejoints. Thus, the use of FSSJ to weld the dissimilar materials Al5083-O and DP590 resulted in mechanically andmetallurgically sound joints.
