Partial splitting of the upper sternum provides an excellent surgical view in reconstruction of the intrathoracic trachea. However, when deep-seated mediastinitis develops postoperatively, it is difficult to manage especially when combined with sternal osteomyelitis. It also needs an additional consideration compared to the usual treatment modality applied to mediastinitis following a standard median stemotomy because the lower part of the stemum remains intact. We treated a 50 year old female patient with deep-seated mediastinitis and sternal osteomyelitis following resection and end-to-end anastomosis of the trachea through an upper midline sternotomy. The patient underwent extensive stemectomy, omental free grafting, and pectoral myocutaneous flap. Postoperative viability of the free-grafted omentum was evaluated by angiography and CT scan.
태양열 이용 열펌프 시스템에 의한 태양열 연구실 난방에 관한 연구 (Ⅰ)

약 6평 규모의 실내의 온수 순환 난방에 적용될 수 있는 최적 설계조건 하에 제작 설치된 신개발 태양열 시스템의 열적 성능과 실내의 난방효과를 분석한 결과, 신개발 태양열 시스템의 온수순환 난방 방법이 실내난방에 가능함을 확인했다. 본 실험에서 사용된 신개발 태양열 난방시스템은 서울지방 가을철(10월과 11월)의 외기온도에서 실내온도가 18℃~20℃로 되는 범위내에서 최대의 효율을 나타내도록 설계하였다. A study proved the best conditions to use hot water circulating system in the room that is about 20㎡, The new system is designed to show the best efficiency that the room temperature make l8~20℃ in Seoul during November and December.
최대 비틀림 파 발생을 위한 자기변형 패치 형상의 위상최적화

This research is concerned with the topology design optimization of a magnetostrictive patch with the consideration of the coupling between magnetic field and mechanical deformation. Earlier investigations consider the optimization of magnetic systems only. Because the maximization of the torsional wave generated by the patch is to be achieved, the shear stress at the target location of the test specimen where the patch is bonded is used as the objective function. Therefore, not only the patch shape but also patch bonding status must be simultaneously solved in the present problem. This requires the use of two design variables at every finite element discretizing a given design space. The numerical results obtained by the present investigation were found to agree well with the earlier experimental results.
