Analysis of EMI Filter for input stage of Single-Phase PWM converter

This paper presents the approach for reducing the differential-mode (DM) and common-mode (CM) conducted EMI noise for single-phase inverter by the implementation of EMI filter according to CISPR 11 standard. The EMI noise is the unwanted noise produced by the switching of the converter that effects the other circuit in the system. The high EMI noises need to be reduced and matched to the standard for the good performance of the converter. DM and CM noises voltage measured by LISN in the frequency range 150 kHz to 30 MHz to compare between the before using EMI filter and after using EMI filter. The single-phase inverter attached EMI filter is reduced the EMI noise emission and matched the CISPR 11 standard in class A, group 1, applying for industrial, scientific, and medical equipment. As the result, DM noise peak magnitude reduced from 93dBuV to 73dBuV, and CM noise peak magnitude reduced from 94dBuV to 75dBuV.
