A new method to monitor a temperature distribution on the top surface of a plate by using a liquid crystal is developed in this research. We can monitor accurately the variations of the temperature distributions on the plate surface by measuring the RGB values of the liquid crystal which has a characteristic that its colors are changed via temperatures. Because the RGB values of the liquid crystal depend not only on the temperatures but also on a lighting condition, a new calibrating technique by utilizing neural network is proposed to obtain the relationship between the measured RGB values and the temperatures on the top surface of the plate. A neighborhood averaging filter is also designed to reduce uncertainties in measuring the RGB values of the liquid crystal. This developed temperature monitoring technique provides various accurate equi-temperature curves on the top surface of the plate from the RGB values measured by a color CCD camera through a computer monitor.
차량 위치 추정을 위한 도로와 차선의 모델에 관한 연구

차량의 주행 중 위험 요소를 제거하기 위해 차량의 움직임을 감시하기 위한 새로운 방법이 제안된다. 차량의 움직임 예측은 차량에 설치된 카메라, 속도 센서, 조향 각 센서의 출력 신호를 융합함으로써 이루어진다. 실시간 처리가 가능한 계산 효율을 얻기 위하여 도로의 형상 과 차선을 세 개의 연속된 평판으로 모델링 하였다. 그리고, 차량의 주행 환경에서 발생하는 여러 외란에 대하여 강인성을 갖기 위하여 Perception Net이 차량의 자세 변수 뿐만 아니라 그 변수의 불확실도를 처리하는데 이용되었다. 일련의 실험을 통하여 제안된 방법의 효율과 강인성을 검증하였다. Motion of a vehicle must be monitored to remove out the existing and/or future safety risk. The vehicle pose and the road curvature can be estimated by geometrically fusing sensor data from a camera sensor, a velocity meter, and a steering wheel encoder installed in a car. A new mathematical model of the lane on the road is proposed to achieve computational efficiency in real time processing. The model is also calculated through a Perception Net in which not only the vehicle pose variables, but also the corresponding uncertainties are propagated in forward and backward direction in such a way to satisfy the given constraint condition, reduce the uncertainties and guarantee robustness. A series of experiments was performed to evaluate the computational efficiency and the robustness against various disturbances.
표면 온도 측정을 이용한 내부 결함 비파괴 검사 방법에 대한 연구

This paper describes a new nondestructive testing method to find out a defect within a welded material. It is impossible to find whether there exist a defect such as a blowhole within the bonded material just by appearance. If there is a defect within the material, heat flow around the defect may be different with the case of the material with no defect. In this paper, the heat flow in the material with a defect is analyzed based upon heat conduction. A new method to detect a defect within the material is proposed based on the heat flow analysis. After heating the surface of the material for testing, we can detect whether there is a defect within the bonded part between two materials by the surface temperature measurement. This approach is applied on detecting defects in joining part of an oven bowl for an electiric rice cooker.
