Streptococcus pneumoniae is one of the microorganims to cause the community acquired pneumonia and it is treated with beta-lactams and macrolides as first-line agents and levofloxacin as second-line agents. However, the emergence of nonsceptible microorganisms to levofloxacin limits its use for the treatment to community aquired pneumonia. The objectives of this study were to evaluate appropriateness of using levofloxacin in the Samsung Medical Center and to find out ways to improve further use of levofloxacin. The results are summarized as the folio wings. Levofloxacin use in 75 patients (M/F 52/23) was reviewed for DUE from Jan. to Dec. of 2002. The criteria of DUE, based on the ofloxacin standards by the American society of health-system pharmacists (ASHP), were modified appropriately according to our hospital settings and the difference between ofloxacin. Levofloxacin use was justified appropriately in 7% of patients. The most frequent complications in levofloxacin use were CNS & liver complications. Also this study demonstrated other factors such as drug-drug interactions and disease-drug interactions could influence the complications. In outcome measures, the total therapeutic response rate was low(63%). This study showed low appropriateness and problems of levofloxacin use. We concluded that we need to establish a standard treatment protocol for providing guideline to prevent resistance to levofloxacin.

The Use of Microteaching in Prospective English Teacher Training

This study investigated the usefulness of microteaching and microteaching experiences in English teacher training from prospective teachers’ perspectives. 14 undergraduate students who were pursuing a teaching certificate participated in the study. The data consisted of interview transcripts, reflective journals, lesson plans, and teaching materials along with videotaped microteaching sessions. Three themes emerged from data analyses: learning through microteaching experience, taking an easy way when planning, and experiencing difficulties due to time constraint. Learning took place when they engaged in teaching itself. Sharing peers’ microteaching on the course websites and offering feedback to peers had an effect on their learning. The professor’s positive feedback and suggestions for improvement encouraged and motivated them. The participants took an opportunity to see differences between their actual teaching and original intentions in teaching through writing a reflective paper. However, when planning, the participants used a ready-made lesson plan or teaching materials downloaded from Internet websites for English teachers. They also experienced difficulties due to the ‘miniature’ concept about microteaching. The concept drove them to include more than two activities, which seemed more than their current teaching ability and experience. I made some suggestions to make microteaching more useful and effective.

An analysis of oral peer feedback comments on EFL student writing

The purpose of this research is to explore what behaviors Korean EFL students exhibit during peer feedback in a university writing class. Fifteen students voluntarily participated in the study and the peer feedback recordings of eighteen pairs were analyzed in terms of the focus of feedback and the types of negotiation generated during oral peer feedback. The students commented on content (159), language issues (154), and organization (103) as well as writing styles (13) and others (15). They focused not only on the global aspects of writing but also on local aspects. The number of comments regarding global aspects was similar across pairs whereas the number of comments on grammar varied. In addition, a total of 18 types of negotiation were found across four pairs of students and the top four frequent negotiation types consisted of phatic comments (50), opinions (49), explanations of problems (42), and suggestions (40). The reviewers generated about 70 percent of the total comments and the nature of oral peer feedback was mostly one-way communication. The age and gender of the pairs also seemed to affect their interaction patterns. Some implications were suggested based on the findings

공공기관 구성원의 진성리더십이 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향: 팔로워십의 매개효과

In recent years, public organizations in Korea is facing various changes to which rapid actions have to be taken. This brings the importance of authentic leadership into focus, which helps to motivate employees positively. However, there are few empirical studies in Korea on this issue focusing on the internal environment of public institutions. The goal of this study is to investigate the effect of authentic leadership on organizational citizenship behavior, which is employees’ voluntary and proactive behavior for the development of their organization. Furthermore, the characteristics of followership is also handled as a mediating variable since it works as an important factor with regards to the effectiveness of leadership in organizations. Total 350 survey questionnaire was distributed to employees working in A public organizations for the analysis, and 234 of them has been used for the hierarchical analysis. According to the analysis, authentic leadership has a positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior―altruism, conscientiousness, sportsmanship‧civic virtue. It is also investigated that the followership’s characteristic of passive and active engagement is mediating the effect which authentic leadership has on organizational citizenship behavior. This study has found the importance of authentic leadership and effective followership of employees in public institutes, and that developing authentic leadership and effective followership in public organizations can promote employees’ organizational citizenship behavior―voluntary extra-role behavior. 최근 공공기관에서도 급속한 경영환경 변화에 신속히 대응해야 할 필요성이 제기되기 되면서 상사의 진성리더십 발현을 통한 긍정적인 구성원 동기부여가 강조되고 있다. 그러나 여전히 국내에서는 공공기관 및 조직을 대상으로한 진성리더십 실증연구가 활발하지 못한 것이 현실이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공공기관 내 진성리더십의 유효성을 연구하고 이와 함께 진성리더십이 조직의 성장을 위한 자발적․주도적 행동인 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 아울러 조직 내 리더십 효과의 중요 요인으로 작용하는 팔로워십 특성의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 총 350부의 설문지를 배포하고 이 중 234부의 응답을 분석에 활용하였는데, 분석결과 진성리더십은 조직시민행동(이타주의, 양심행동, 스포츠‧시민정신)에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 팔로워십의 적극적‧능동적 참여 특성이 조직시민행동(이타주의, 양심행동, 스포츠‧시민정신)에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 팔로워십의 적극적‧능동적 참여 특성은 진성리더십이 조직시민행동(이타주의, 양심행동, 스포츠⋅시민정신)에 미치는 영향을 매개하는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 진성리더십과 구성원 팔로워십이 조직성과에 미치는 중요성에 대한 연구로 의미가 있다고 하겠다. 특히 효과적인 진성리더십 및 팔로워십 제고를 위한 실천적 노력을 통해 구성원들의 자발적 역할 외 행동을 증진시킬 것을 제언하였다.

Development of the information society had made people use smart devices and utilize technology. Diverse field in information technology such as contents, platform, network and device can be representative fields that have many users. Creation of new services, increasing users make services inevitable to cyber threat. For example, it was recently discovered that users‘ MAC addresses were collected from TikTok application, and there were cases of security threats, such as backdoor on Huawei‘s 5G devices. In addition, unauthorized collection of personal information and hacking of new services have occurred. When security issues occur, users need to be protected. Companies should always try to prevent cyber issue at first hand and run business morally keeping business and cyber ethics. However, sometimes it can be out of company or individuals reach. Therefore, the country acts and response to the issues. Many major foreign countries are responding to these security issues according to their respective procedures. In this paper, we will classify various security issues by the areas of contents, platform, device and network, and analyze the responses of major foreign countries. Based on the research, it was able to extract a generalized cyber security issue response process, which is assumed to be not established before. According to this process, it makes possible to observe which process countries go through to response to cyber security issues.

RDA 교육훈련 동향 분석 및 국내 적용 모형 개발에 관한 연구

This study aims to 1) analyse the current RDA application and training and 2) develop an on-the-job training model for Korean library and information professionals. For this purpose, this study collected and analysed comprehensively RDA on-the-job training programs in the major foreign national libraries, consortium, college libraries, etc. Then, this study presented application methodology of the devised training model to the National library of Korea depending on the RDA application process. Also, the significant consideration for the RDA implementation by type of libraries was suggested. 본 연구는 세계서지제어의 기반이 되는 목록규칙으로 작용하게 될 RDA가 외국의 대표적인 도서관들에서 본격적으로 적용되기 시작함에 따라, 국내에서도 이에 대한 대응이 필요한 시점임을 밝히고, 특히 교육훈련 및 향후 적용과 관련된 주요 논의사항 및 방안을 제시하고자 하는 목적을 가지고 있다. 이에 RDA 도입의 현황 및 RDA에 대해 진행되고 있는 외국의 교육훈련의 내용과 방식을 포괄적으로 분석하였다. 이러한 사례 분석에서 도출한 부문별 시사점을 바탕으로 RDA 교육훈련의 모형을 개발하고, 이를 국내 환경에 맞게 적용하는 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 향후 RDA 적용에 따른 다양한 관점의 고려사항을 기관 유형별로 나누어 제시하였다.

공여편 삽입 방법에 따른 데스메막박리 각막내피층판 이식술의 임상결과 비교

Purpose: To compare clinical outcomes of Descemet’s stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) between different graft insertion methods Methods: The clinical records of 32 eyes of 30 DSAEK patients were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into 2 groups according to graft insertion method. Group A: Taco-folding, group B: Tan-endoglide. The best corrected visual acuities (BCVA), intraocular pressures, astigmatism, endothelial cell count, central corneal thickness and complications were evaluated pre and post-operatively. Results: The average follow-up period was 19 months (range 1-67). Postoperative log MAR visual acuity had significantly improved both from 1.63 (log MAR) to 0.69 and 0.53 at 12 months in each group (p = 0.035, p = 0.000). Mean endothelial cell survival of each group at 1 month postoperative were 75.8% (range 62.7-88.6) and 87.7% (range 70.2-97.9), respectively (p = 0.012). The differences of BCVA improvement and endothelial cell survival between the groups at 12 months were not significant (p = 0.393, p = 0.544). Conclusions: Both methods showed fast visual recovery. Using Tan-endoglide insertion resulted less endothelial cell loss at early post-operative period and showed less post-operative complication and graft failure. 디즈니 극장용 애니메이션의 아티스트 트레이닝 프로그램 사례 연구

Walt Disney Feature Animation released high quality films such as ‘Frozen’, ‘Big Hero 6’, ‘Wreck-it Ralph’, ‘Zootopia’, ‘Moana’, ‘Frozen 2’ and not only got high score in box office but showed great CG and visuals. However, making feature animation requires a lot of time, money, and efforts so it is very important to support studios’ artists to finish each show within limited budget and time. This paper shows artists’ training program such as ‘Short Circuit’ and ‘Bootcamp’ that walt disney feature animation provides their artists to improve their creativity and do their jobs artistically and efficiently. Disney’s training program not only provides artists various training classes but gives them chances to work on short animation which enhances artistic skills and enable them to work in different departments and experience different tasks. This paper also explains some training cases of CG studios in South Korea and Disney Animations’ in-house tools.

국가전거공동활용시스템의 활용 및 발전 방안에 관한 연구

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the current status of the national authority data construction project centered on the National Library of Korea for the effective construction and utilization of national knowledge information resources. It also aimed to reveal the possibility and improvement of the national information system with the international standard identification system, and suggesting future development plans. To this end, this study conducted interviews and questionnaires with members of the Korean National Authority Data Sharing System(KNASS). The survey consisted of items related to the current status and difficulties related to the authority, the use of the KNASS, the recognition and utilization of identifiers, the awareness and utilization of the linkage with ISNI, the Importance-Performance Analysis for activating the KNASS, and the overall satisfaction and improvement direction. As a result of the analysis, it was proposed to develop rules and guidelines related to the authority works, to increase the quantity and quality of authority data, to raise understanding of the importance and establish a efficient work system, to diversify the authority service and develop a utilization model, to link the KNASS with international identifiers, and to share the necessity of the KNASS. 본 연구는 국가지식정보자원의 효과적인 구축과 활용을 위해 국립중앙도서관을 중심으로 한 국가 전거데이터 구축 사업의 현황을 파악하고, 국가전거의 국제표준식별체계와의 연계 가능성 및 개선사항을 밝히고, 향후 발전 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하여 수행되었다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 국가전거공동활용시스템 가입 기관을 대상으로 면담 및 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사는 전거 관련 현황과 어려움, 국가전거공동활용시스템의 활용, 식별자에 대한 인식 및 활용, ISNI와의 연계에 대한 인식 및 활용, 국가전거공동활용시스템 활성화 요인에 대한 중요도 및 달성도, 전반적인 만족도 및 개선 방향에 대한 항목으로 구성되었고, 이러한 조사 연구를 통해 국가전거공동활용시스템을 통한 국가 전거데이터 구축과 활용의 현황 및 문제점을 파악하고, 국가 전거데이터와 국제 표준 식별 시스템의 연계 가능성을 분석하였으며, 중요도-성과 분석을 통해 개선 사항의 우선순위를 제시하였다. 분석의 결과, 향후 국가 전거 구축의 발전 방안으로는 국가전거공동활용시스템의 활성화를 위해 전거 관련 규칙과 지침 개발, 전거데이터의 양적 확보 및 품질 제고, 전거 업무의 중요성 인식 제고와 효율적인 업무 체계 마련, 전거 서비스의 다양화와 활용 모델 개발, 국가전거공동활용시스템과 국제표준 식별자의 연계, 국가전거공동활용시스템의 필요성 공유 등이 제안되었다.
