Developing A Tool for Collaborative Multimedia Systems Design
백승익,Baek, Seung-Ik Korea Information Processing Society 2002 정보처리학회논문지D Vol.9 No.1
Multimedia systems design generally requires a collaborative effort from a group of designers with a variety of backgrounds and tasks, such as content experts, instructional designers, media specialists, users, and so forth. The fact that the designers have totally different backgrounds and tasks may hinder their collaboration. This research develops a collaborative design tool for multimedia systems design, called the Designer's Cafe, with which multimedia designers can share their design knowledge on the Web freely. Designer's Cafe consists of three intelligent agents that are designed for supporting collaboration activities of multimedia designers. The intelligent agents are implemented by using JAVA SCRIPT and COLD FUSION. By using the tool, designers create, revise, and share their knowledge/ideas in very structured ways. The structured design process might enhance the collaboration activities of designers while designing a multimedia system within a virtual working space.
Virtual Organizations in Korea
백승익,김병석 한국학중앙연구원 한국학중앙연구원 2003 Korea Journal Vol.43 No.3
A virtual organization is a group of legally separate organizations that act as though they are one. The success of a virtual organization heavily depends on its ability to manage a massive information flow throughout its business partners. Today’s corporations cannot be characterized as either virtual organizations or non-virtual organizations, but they can be characterized as organizations which have different degree of virtuality. This paper attempts to explain virtuality of Korean corporations by examining e-businesses, particularly the B2B e-business. Although the user population of high-speed Internet service is growing quickly in Korea, most users use the Internet for entertainment or personal needs, rather than for work. The Internet usage rate of Korean corporations in enhancing their productivity is relatively low. Especially in the areas of B2B e-business, such as B2B e-marketplaces and SCM (Supply Chain Management), the usage rate is even worse. This paper examines Korean corporations’ virtuality associated with e-marketplaces and SCM and suggests a roadmap of e-marketplaces and SCM.

The importance of fast and accurate body temperature measurement with a portable thermometer is increasing. In order to reduce the temperature measurement response time of the infrared ear thermometer, it is very important to develop a structure for a thermometer having an efficient heat transfer path. Most of the existing ear thermometers are single structures that do not consider thermal efficiency, which may delay measurement time and reduce measurement accuracy. Therefore, in this study, the upper part of the thermometer in contact with the ear is made of a thermally conductive material, and the lower part of the thermometer is made of a thermal barrier material so that heat can be concentrated on the infrared sensor of the thermometer by blocking the upper part of the heat. For the efficiency of production, it was intended to be manufactured through the double injection process, and for this purpose, in this paper, the optimal process parameters were derived through the double injection process analysis.
