『맨스필드 파크』: 가장의 부재와 복귀를 중심으로

Jane Austen wrote during a transitional period, as the late 18th centurywas giving way to the Victorian Era. During this time the English economywas invigorated by the industrial revolution and its expansion of overseassettlements. However, England was facing a national crisis. Austen gave indepth descriptions of love and marriage against the backdrop of quietcountry life in her works during this time. Austen seemed indifferent to traditional Victorian social issues, but asQ. D. Leavis pointed out, Austen not only described the changing picture oflife through the everyday issues of love and marriage, but also illustratedthe psychological and moral issues caused by the transition. MansfieldPark, one of her works, did not deal with foreign affairs in politics directly,but it did show the effects of those affairs throughout society. Austen wasable to reveal society’s true picture by focusing on the Bertrams as theywent through the changes of domestic order and ethical collapse of thelanded gentry within the country. This study focuses on the changes and problems of English society dueto political and economical changes, and reveals Austen’s awareness of thechange in society, and the issues of the day by analyzing the Bertrams. The Bertrams highlight the dependence on patriarchal power and itsabsence, and its effects on the relationships with other families aroundthem.

반도성 rutile의 전기적 성질 및 점결함 형태

순수한 Rutile에서 점결함의 형태와 전기적 특성을 연구하기 위해 $1~10{-23}$atm의 산소분압 범위 및 $700~1300^{\circ}C$의 온도 범위에서 전기전도도를 측정하였다. 전기전도도의 산소분압 의존성($log\sigma/logPo_2$)으로부터 산소분압 및 온도 변화에 따라 다음과 같은 지배적인 결함들을 제안한다. 1) $Ti_nO_{2n-1}$, 2)침입형 Ti 이온 3)2가로 하전된 산소빈자리 4)불순물에 의해 형성된 2가로 하전된 산소빈자리 5) n-p전이 및 p형 전도 또한, 고유범위의 실험결과로부터 계산한 Ti와 Vo의 결함형성 엔탈피는 각각, 10.2eV와 4.92eV였다. The electrical conductivity of undoped mtile was measured in the oxygen partial pressure range of $1~10{-23}$atm and temperature range of $700~1300^{\circ}C$ to investigate the defect types and the electrical properties. The data(logu/logPoz) were divided into the five regions. Therefore the five dominant defect types such as $Ti_nO_{2n-1}$, Ti, Vo, Vo due to impurity, and n-p transition or p-type conduction with the Poz and the temperature were proposed. The formation enthalpies calculated from these experimental results were found to be 10.2eV for Ti, and 4. 92eV for Vo in intrinsic range.

『광막한 사르가소 바다』에 나타난 제국주의적 상징성: 디스토피아의 벌거벗은 생명 주체를 중심으로

This paper explores the progress of restoring an abject life in Jean Rhys’s work Wide Sargasso Sea, focusing on the main protagonist Antoinette whose life is captured by British imperialism and illusion. Rhys analyzes western colonial ideology, the system and factors that destroy life, and the meaning of social governance mainly through the concepts of Michael Foucault’s biopower and heterotopia and Giorgio Agamben’s dispositif, homo sacer, and bare life. Through this, she suggests a possibility that Antoinette’s bare life, which is constantly separated and excluded from the community by an invisible power, can be revived through her own courageous and independent resistance. To elaborate, she tries to overcome oppression not to be captured by the prejudice and sovereign power of an individual and a nation. Further, she is reborn from a destruction as a complete individual which makes her included in exclusion, going beyond the yoke of imperialism’s intervention of power and capital, conflict between classes, and dispositif that destroys one’s life. She hereby shows the possibility of embodying human freedom, equality, love, and hope in the world of imperialist dystopia.

W를 첨가한 $\textrm{TiO}_2$의 미세구조 및 전기적 성질

The electrical conductivity of TiO$_2$ doped with 0.05~1.5mol% WO$_3$ was measured in the oxygen partial pressure range of 10\ulcorner~10\ulcorner atm and temperature range of 1100~130$0^{\circ}C$ to investigate the defect types and the electrical properties. The grain size and density were increased as the liquid phase was formed by the doped WO$_3$. The secondary phase and WO$_3$peaks at the sample doped up to 4.0 mol% were not detected from the XRD results. The data(log$\sigma$/logPo$_2$) over 110$0^{\circ}C$ were divided into the four regions. From these experimental results, we proposed the following defect regions. 1) Magneli phase(extended defect), 2) Reduced rutile region which is similar to the behavior of undoped rutile, 3) Nearly stoichiometric Ti\ulcornerW\ulcornerO$_2$region in which extra charge of W\ulcorner cation is expected to be compensated by an electron, 4) Overstoichiometric Ti\ulcornerW\ulcornerO\ulcorner region which is a metal deficiency not to be observed in pure TiO$_2$. The electrical conductivity of w-doped TiO$_2$ was influenced by the measuring temperature, oxygen partial pressure, and the dopig content.

식생수로에서 유하시간에 영향을 주는 인자 분석

현재까지 국내에서의 수질관리 정책은 점오염원 관리를 우선시 하고 있다. 점오염원은 관거를 통해 배출지점이 명확 한 지점으로 집중적인 유출특성을 보인다. 하지만 비점오염원은 점오염원과 달리 유출경로, 유출량 및 유출특성이 명 확하지 않아 관리에 여러 어려움이 있다. 이에 우리나라는 비점오염원을 관리하기 위해서 비점오염저감시설을 개발 및 설치하여 관리해오고 있다. 그러나 비점오염저감시설은 강우에 대한 영향을 받기 때문에 적절한 설계 및 유지관리에 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 적절한 비점오염 저감시설 설계를 위한 저감효율에 영향을 주는 여러 인자에 대한 다각적 연 구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 자연형 비점오염저감시설인 식생수로에서 저감효율에 영향을 미치는 인자인 강우사상, 식생피도 및 유하시간을 조사하고 상관성 분석을 수행하였다. 식생피도는 수로 내에 Braun-Blanquet(목측법)을 이용 하여 피도의 변화를 구하였으며, 유하시간의 경우 강우유출수가 수로로 유입되는 시점부터 첫 유출이 시작되는 시간까 지로 구하였다. 또한 상관성 분석은 pearson 상관성 분석법을 이용하여 구하였다. 그 결과 식생수로에서 유하시간이 길수록 저감효율이 증가하고, 식생피도가 높을수록 유하시간이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. Recently the water quality management policy gives priority to management the point source. Point pollution sources have definite emission points and are discharged to one point through a pipe. But Nonpoint pollution source (NPS) has uncertain pathway, pollutant load and runoff characteristics unlike point pollution sources, making them difficult to manage. Thus, the Korea government plans to develop and equip facilities that help reduce NPS so as to manage them more easily. But removal efficiency of Best Management Practice (BMPs) is in influenced by rainfall, hydrologic condition like natural phenomenon, so factors of removal efficiency are difficult. Thus there is a need for multilateral research about many factors that affect removal efficiency for removal facility design of proper non-point pollution. In this research, mapping, vegetation coverage and retention time were investigated in the case of factors that affect removal efficiency in grassed swale, a nature-type non-point removal facility. Grassed swale obtained changed of coverage using Braun-Blanquet within swale and retention time was obtained from point that rainfall effluent enters into swale to the time that first outflow starts. Besides, correlation analysis was obtained using pearson correlation analysis method. As a result, it was shown that removal efficiency increases as retention time is longer in grassed swale and that retention time increases as vegetation coverage is higher.

Thomas Hardy 의 소설에 나타난 페미니즘

In Hardy's novels, tragedy is often created by a conflict not simply between the individual and the environment, but between 'things inherent' and 'human institution'. At the same time, mostly his tragedies arise out of the social situation. Particularly, Hardy was noted for his consciousness to depict women as symbols for representing suffering workers in Tess and Jude the Obscure. Hardy saw the Victorian world mainly through the eyes and the consciousness of his heroines in his works. In the Victorian period, woman was only the servant and attendant and administering angel for the male. There was no other great living principle than the male principle. Tess and Sue Bridehead are different from the typical Victorian heroines who usually fit into the adaptive role of woman imposed on them by society. Tess and Sue rebel against the narrow-minded view of women widespread in the contemporary world, and try to overcome their destiny. The attempts of his heroines to move toward a better life, based on an equal relationship of men and women, are often frustrated. But, Tess and Sue Bridehead do not submit although they are victimized by their ruthless society. Through the victimization and suffering they learn to face the pitiless world squarely.

식생수로 길이가 비점오염물질 저감효율에 미치는 영향

비점오염원은 배출원, 유출경로 및 배출량이 명확하지 않아 관리에 많은 어려움이 있다. 최근 들어, 비점오염 관리를 위 해 다양한 비점오염저감시설들에 대해 개발 및 연구 되고 있다. 또한 비점오염시설의 정확한 평가를 위해 다양한 효율산 정 방법들이 제시되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 강우 시 식생수로 길이별 모니터링 결과를 토대로 식생수로의 길이가 저감효 율에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구를 수행하였다. 또한 식생수로 길이별 저감효율을 다양한 방법으로 산정하여 효율 산정방 법에 따른 차이를 비교하고자 하였다. 효율 산정 방법으로는 ER, SOL, ROL, ROF, SOLF, ROLF 방법을 이용하여 분석하 였다. EMC 분석결과 유입 및 유출량의 농도차이가 유기물질이 염양염류에 비하여 크게 나타났다. 식생수로 길이에 따른 효율 분석 결과 식생수로 유입부에서 효율이 급증하고, 이 후에는 효율 증가가 점차 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 식 생수로 전단에 설치된 저류지에 의한 것으로 판단된다. 식생수로의 저감효율을 확보하기 위해서는 식생수로의 길이가 최 소 30m이상으로 충분히 확보되어야 한다. 또한 식생수로의 경제적이고 효율적인 설계를 위해선 단순한 효율분석이 아닌 식생수로 최소 길이에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

영화 <설득>: 앤, 붕괴되는 전통 가치 속에 피어난 주체적 여성

This essay explores Persuasion, which is a 1995 film directed by Roger Mitchell and based on Jane Austen’s last novel. Austen is an author who has had a wide range of readership and has continued to be loved through the present day. Mitchell added perspective reinterpreted by the director as well as sticking to the original work which arouses a lot of sympathy from the audience. First, the aim of this essay is to explain the collapse of the traditional class values in the early 19th century British society. British society was undergoing wars and many changes were taking place at that time. One of the most remarkable changes is that the gentry with traditional class values was gradually collapsing and a new class with huge wealth was taking their places. Mitchell expressed well the humanity of the navy, showing this emerging class. Furthermore, the fall of the Elliot’s and the appearance of the affluent Captain Wentworth embodied the change of British society in the movie. Anne, a baronet’s daughter, who was persuaded to reject Wentworth’s proposal of marriage by the limitations of existing class society, became reunited with him. Love for each other was reconfirmed in Anne’s journey. Second, Mitchell reinvented Anne as a self-reliant and independent woman. She is a character who is not buried in the traditional values but depends on her own feelings and judgment. And she is a woman who successfully reunites with her love, Captain Wentworth beyond their class disparity and pursues her own life. This is the achievement of Mitchell, who was able to add a modern interpretation to Austen’s original work. As such, the movie is very meaningful as a genre that reproduces the original work and recreates new meaning.
