        Numerical Analysis of the Backscattering Amplitude for a Partially Buried Cylinder on a Flat Interface Using Method of Moments

        매끈한 물체에 의한 음향산란에 관한 수치해석은 발전해 왔으나 경계면에 위로 부분적으로 드러나 있는 물체에 의한 음향산란에 대한 수치해석은 여전히 드물다. 해저면에 부분적으로 파묻힌 실린더의 후방산란진폭을 결정함에 있어 경계면에 의한 잔향은 표적의 산란 함수 특성을 변화시킨다. 본 연구는 평탄한 경계면에 부분적으로 파묻힌 실린더의 후방산란진폭에 대한 수치해석을 제시하기 위하여 모멘트법(Method of Moments)을 채택하였다. 제시된 수치해석은 측정 및 키르히호프 근사법으로 얻은 해석적인 해와 상당한 일치를 보여주었다. 본 연구에서 기술된 수치해석은 해저면에서의 잔향과 표적으로부터의 산란파를 결합시킴으로써 해저면에 부분적으로 파묻힌 어떠한 형상의 표적에 대한 후방산란 문제에도 적용될 수 있다. Though there have been advances in the numerical analysis of the acoustic scattering by smooth objects, numerical analysis of the acoustic scattering by the objects that are partially exposed on the interface are still rare. In determining the backscattering amplitude by a partially buried cylinder on a seabed, reverberation by the interface changes the feature of the scattering form function. Current study adopted the Method of moments (MoM) to provide the numerical analysis on the backscattering amplitude for a partially buried cylinder on a flat interface. Suggested numerical analysis showed the good agreements with the measurements and the analytic solution obtained by the Kirchhoff approximation. Numerical analysis described in the current study can be applied to the backscattering problem of any shape of the objects partially imbedded on a seabed by combining the reverberation from the seabed with the scattered wave from the objects.

        강체원뿔표적에 대한 초음파 방사힘 계산과 음향파워측정모델에 관한 연구

        본 논문은 초음파 방사힘을 이용하여 음향파워를 측정하는 방법에 대한 이론적 모델을 세우고 이에 대한이론적 결과를 다루었다. 이를 위해 Kirchhoff approximation 기반으로 강체원뿔표적에 대한 산란모델을 세우고 음향파워를 계산한 후 이를 방사힘으로 환산하였다. 이를 통해 원뿔표적을 사용하는 기존 방법의 정확성 및 측정 한계, 그리고 임의의 경사각의 원뿔표적으로도 측정할 수 있는 음향파워측정에 관한 확장된 이론을 제시하였다. 이를 이용하여 초음파 방사힘을 이용한 음향파워측정 방법의 주파수 및 표적 크기에 대한 의존도도 본 논문에서 제시하였다. 그결과로 주파수 및 표적 크기를 고려하였을 때 국제표준규격(International Electrotechnical Commission, IEC)에서제시하는 방법으로 계산한 음향파워값에 추가되어야 할 보정값을 산출하였다. This paper came up with the theoretical modelling of the metrology for the acoustic power using ultrasonic radiation force and showed some theoretical results. In order to do this, a scattering model for a rigid circular cone based upon the Kirchhoff approximation was made, which was followed by the calculation of acoustic power, and then, was converted to the radiation force. From these works, it provided the accuracy and limitation of the conventional method using a circular cone, and the expanded metrology modelling that can be applied to a circular cone with arbitrary apex angle. Using these, this study provided the dependence of the metrology for the acoustic power using ultrasonic radiation force on the frequency and the size of the target. As a result, the correction was yielded in the value of the acoustic power calculated by the suggested International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) method, which needs to be added when the frequency and the size of the target was considered.

        연하장애를 동반한 중풍환자 3례에서의 두침 및 전침의 효과

        Objectives : Although dysphagia is a common complication in stroke patients, there are few studies or reports about its treatment in oriental medicine. This study was to report the effects of scalp-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture in stroke patients with dysphagia. Methods : Three stroke patients with dysphagia hospitalized in our hospital were treated by scalp-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture simultaneously every day, 5 times a week for 4 weeks. Results : All of them showed constant improvement during the four weeks. Not only did their objective measures improve, but also their subjective symptoms such as throat discomfort, sputum, swallowing disturbance etc. Conclusions : This suggests that scalp-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture are quite effective when treating stroke patients with dysphagia. More clinical data and studies are to be done for efficient application.

        배양된 폐세포주에서 항산화제 resveratrol이 파라쿼트 유도성 산화적 스트레스에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: Paraquat (1,1‘-dimethy-4,4’-bipyridinium dichloride,PQ) is an effective and widely used herbicide, which was introduced commercially in 1962. It is reduced by an electron donor, such as NADPH, and then transfers the electron to molecular oxygen. As a result, the reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced are related to its cellular toxicity. Resveratrol (trans-3,4',5-trihydroxystilbene), a naturally occurring hydroxystilbene,is considered an essential antioxidative constituent of red wine, possessing chemopreventive properties. However, the influence of resveratrol on PQ-induced oxidative cell damage has not fully been investigated. Methods: This experiment was conducted in vitro using cultured lung cells from SD rats. The MTT and LDH methods were used for assessment of cytotoxicity. The 2',7'-dichlorofluorescein diacetate (DCF-DA) assay was used for measurement of intracellular ROS levels. The 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay was used for measurement of pro-oxidant capacity of resveratrol. The Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) assay, which reflects lipid peroxidation, was used for estimation of oxidative stress. Results: According to results of the MTT and LDH assays,incubation of cultured lung cells with resveratrol did not protect lung cells from PQ-induced cytotoxicity, and no decrease in ROS production was observed, according to results of the DCF-DA assay. On the other hand, incubation of lung cells with non-lethal resveratrol resulted in aggravation of PQ-induced oxidative stress. Conclusion: Results of this study showed that incubation of cells with resveratol did not result in reduction of PQ toxicity,but lead to elevation of PQ-induced oxidative stress in cultured lung cells.

        Professional Construction of Diversity Management in Korea

        This study uses a representative sample of 1,535 workplaces in Korea to examine the presence of a set of policy statements for diversity management. Hypotheses from neo-institutionalism are developed to predict the presence of a set of policy statements for diversity management across workplaces in Korea. A logistic regression model is used to test the hypotheses. The findings suggest that neo-institutional theory explains the presence of a set of policy statements for diversity management in Korea. In particular, employment laws in Korea are ambiguous, and the organizational connection to HR professionals strongly affects the presence of a set of policy statements for diversity management in Korea. This institutionalization process in Korea is similar to the US case.

        실시간 탄성초음파를 이용한 만성 뇌졸중 후 편마비 환자의 상지 강직에 대한 사암침 효과 연구

        Objectives : To investigate the effects of Sa-am acupuncture on muscle architecture and elastic properties of the spastic elbow flexor and to evaluate the correlation between clinical findings and parameters of real-time sonoelastography (RTS) in patients with chronic post-stroke hemiparesis. Materials and Methods : Seven patients (five males, two females) with chronic post-stroke hemiparesis were included. Sa-am acupuncture of Ganseunggyeok (肝勝格: LU8 LR4 補, HT8 LR2 瀉) was applied to the unaffected side 3 times a week for 4 weeks. During each acupuncture treatment period, patients were requested to exercise their affected arm, and spasticity and functional recovery outcomes of the affected arm were evaluated before and after Sa-am acupuncture treatment. Clinical outcomes were assessed using motricity index (MI), modified Ashworth scale (MAS), Fugl-Meyer assessment scale (FMA) and modified Barthel index (MBI) for elbow flexor spasticity. RTS images indicate the relative hardness of the examined muscles ranged from red (hard) to purple (soft) for color-scale, and from black (hard) to white (soft) for hue scale. Color and hue histograms of the biceps brachii and brachialis were analyzed using Image J software, and median red, blue, and hue pixel intensity were obtained. Results : MI and FMA score significantly increased and MAS score significantly decreased (p<0.05). F-wave maximal amplitude of affected abductor pollicis brevis significantly decreased (p<0.05). Muscle thickness of affected brachialis significantly increased (p<0.05). Red and green pixel intensity of affected brachialis significantly decreased (p<0.05). Conclusions : Our study revealed that Sa-am acupuncture is effective as a useful and safe treatment for spasticity in chronic post-stroke hemiparesis.
