본 연구는 유아 평화교육을 보다 효과적으로 지도하기 위한 방안을 모색하고자, 예비유아교사와 유치원 교사들을 대상으로 유아 평화교육에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 연구 대상은 충청남도에 위치한 대학의 유아교육 전공자 대학생 330명과 유치원 교사 216명이다. 연구 도구인 설문지는 2개영역(평화교육에 대한 기초인식, 유아 평화교육의 필요성 및 중요내용)으로 구성한 후, 이를 근거로 연구 자료를 수집하고 예비유아교사의 대학유형, 학년수준 변인과 교사가 근무하는 지역, 교사의 경력 및 학력에 따라 비교 분석하였다. 연구결과 예비유아교사보다 유치원 교사의 평화교육에 대한 인지도가 높게 나타났으며, 평화교육의 필요성에 대한 인식에 있어서는 예비유아 교사와 유치원 교사의 인식에 있어서 모두 높게 나타났다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness of peace-education for children among pre-service and in-service teachers. The subjects were 216 kindergarten teachers and 330 would-be graduates of early childhood education departments engaged in either a two-year-course college or a four-year-course university located in Chungnam province. A questionnaire was developed and used for the collection of data. The questionnaire was divided into 2 areas (the basic awareness of peace-education for children, and the need and the enforcement time for peace-education for children). 2 analysis, CHI-square-test were used to analyze the data. The results of the study are summarized as follows: First, awareness among in-service teachers of peace-education for children was higher than that of pre-service teachers. Second, pre-service and in-service teachers all were aware of the necessity of peace-education for young children. The results of this study suggested the necessity of a systematic program, effective methods of teaching, as well as material support and administrative support in implementing of peace-education children
