Design and Fabrication of a MIC Gate Mixer Using GaAs MESFET

The Schottky barrier diode has been used as an element of the mixer inspite of its conversion loss. In this paper the use of a GaAs MESFET is shown as a device of mixer, and the conversion gain is obtained. Also, input matching circuits aredesigned by s-parameter and fabricated on a dielectric teflon epoxy fiber glass substrate. According to the results, the conversion gain is 9 dB at the signal frequency of 4 GHz and the intermediate frequency of 1.217GHz.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 2 weeks of backward walking exercise (BWE) on cervical angle and gait parameters in college students with forward head posture. Methods : Fifteen subjects participated in the experiment. All the participants had a craniovertebral angle (CVA) of 55 degrees or less. The purpose of the study was explained to all the subjects prior to participation, and volunteered to take part in the study. A camera capable of taking pictures of the lateral plane was installed at a distance of 1.5 meters from each subject. Images of forward head posture were obtained before and after performing the BWE, and the CVA and craniorotational angle (CRA) were compared pre- versus post exercise. Foot pressure and gait parameters (step length of left and right, stride length, stance of left and right, swing of left and right, step time of left and right, and stride time) were measured using a rehabilitation treadmill. The subjects performed the BWE for 2 weeks. The exercise program consisted of a 5-minute warm-up exercise, 20-minute main exercise, and 5-minute cool-down exercise. In the main exercise, the treadmill speed was set to 2.4 km/h in the first week and 3.4 km/h in the second week. A paired t test was used to compare the CVA and CRA and gait parameters before and after the exercise. Results : Comparison of the CVA and CRA before and after the BWE revealed a significant difference post exercise, with a marked improvement in forward head posture after the exercise (p<.05). Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, the BWE is considered to be an effective exercise for the forward head posture. Also, additional research is needed to shed light on the impact of the BWE on gait parameters.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of single limb stance exercise according to the support surface on dynamic balance ability and abdominal muscle thickness. Methods : We recruited 28 healthy subjects in this study. Subjects were assigned to 2 groups by matching method. The control group was 5 males and 9 females, and single limb stance exercise was performed on the stable support surface. The experimental group consisted of 6 males and 8 females, and trained to stand on the unstable support. During the single limb stance exercise, the dominant foot was set as the foot that appeared numerically through the exercise of the dynamic balance meter (Biorescue). Single limb stance exercise along the supporting surface was maintained for 15 seconds and then rested for 15 seconds. It was repeated 5 times. Particularly, the balance exercise on the unstable support surface was sufficiently practiced. Independent t test was performed for comparison between groups. Paired t test was performed to compare before and after each group. Results : There was no difference between the control group and the experimental group in the comparison of dynamic balance ability (p>.05). However, there were significant differences before and after exercise in both the control and experimental groups (p<.05). Similarly, in the comparison of abdominal muscle thickness, there was a significant difference within each group, especially internal oblique and transverse abdominis (p< .05), and no difference between groups (p >.05). Conclusion : Based on these results, although there was no difference between the groups, in the experimental group, numerical increase in dynamic balance ability and abdominal muscle thickness was confirmed. Therefore, single limb stance exercise on the unstable support surfaces activates core muscles and has a positive effect on dynamic balancing ability.

최근의 통신망 기술의 발전은 기가 비트 통신의 시대를 열었다. 그러나 사용자 측면에서는 향상된 대역폭을 충분히 활용하지 못하고 있는데, 이는 종단 시스템에서 데이터를 처리하는 과정에서 병목현상이 발생하기 때문이다. 이러한 이유로 통신 소프트웨어를 최적화할 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 통신 프로토콜을 정략ㅇ적으로 분석하여, 병목현상의 주요 원인을 확인하는 작업을 수행하였다. 실험을 수행하기 위해서 리눅스를 사용하는 두 대의 팬티엄 PC를 저속 네트워크인 이더넷(Ethernet)과 고속 네트워크인 미리넷(Myrinet)으로 동시에 연결을 하였다. 두 가지 환경을 비교함으로써 네트워크의 속도가 빨라짐에 따라 병목현상을 발생시키는 지점이 어떠한 양상으로 이동하는 가도 관찰할 수 있다. 통신 프로토콜에 대한 수행시간 측정은 펜티엄에서 제공하는 MSR (Machine Specific Register)을 이용하였다.
