현대중공업은 전통적으로 조선 분야에서 강점을 보이며 세계 수준의 중공업 기업으로 자리잡은 한국의 기업이다. 현대중공업은 매출의 큰 비중을 조선 산업에 의존하고 있었기 때문에, 유럽의 금융 위기로 말미암은 세계 조선 업계의 침체는 현대중공업의 수익구조와 경영 전략에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 경영 사례 분석에서는 현대 중공업이 세계 경제 불황으로 인해 어떠한 위험에 노출되게 되었는지 분석해보고 이에 대한 대응 전략을 모색해 보았다. 현대 중공업과의 인터뷰 및 자료 협조를 통해 재무 상태 분석 및 위험 요인 분석을 진행하였으며, 조선 사업에 의존하고 있는 현대 중공업의 사업 구조를 어떻게 다각화 할 수 있을지에 대한 구체적인 방안을 제시하였다. Hyundai Heavy Industry (HHI) is a world-class Korean company, which significantly relied on the shipbuilding industry that was suffering from a worldwide recession followed by the European debt crisis. HHI found that it cannot continue to depend only on the shipbuilding industry. In this case study, we analyze the crisis affecting HHI from various perspectives and propose solutions. We conduct interviews with HHI employees and analyze the company’s financial and sales data. Finally, we discuss how to address the issue of HHI’s high dependency on the shipbuilding industry by suggesting a diversification from its current business segments.
온톨로지 자동추출도구의 기능적 성능 평가를 위한 평가지표의 개발 및 적용

The Web is evolving toward the Semantic Web. Ontologies are considered as a crucial component of the Semantic Web since it is the backbone of knowledge representation for this Web. However, most of these ontologies are still built manually. Manual building of an ontology is time-consuming activity which requires many resources. Consequently, the need for automatic ontology extraction tools has been increased for the last decade, and many tools have been developed for this purpose. Yet, there is no comprehensive framework for evaluating such tools. In this paper, we proposed a set of criteria for evaluating ontology extraction tools and carried out an experiment on four popular ontology extraction tools (i.e., OntoLT, Text-To-Onto, TERMINAE, and OntoBuilder) using our proposed evaluation framework. The proposed framework can be applied as a useful benchmark when developers want to develop ontology extraction tools.
조직간 비즈니스 프로세스의 워크플로우 상호운용성 충돌패턴에 관한 연구

The recent development of information technology has been envisioned as the next technological wave and is expected to play an important role in diminishing boundaries between business organizations. Enterprises have recently resulted in a surge in workflow management, making business processes sharable among different business organizations. To make heterogeneous workflows operational, it is crucial that workflow management systems provide efficient tools for an environment supporting interoperability of business processes among different business organizations. As the potential of workflow management is becoming widely recognized, the demand for an integrated framework that facilitates interoperability among heterogeneous workflows is concomitantly growing. Despite the large body of work in the area of workflow management, few efforts are directed towards identifying conflict patterns for heterogeneous workflow interoperability of inter-organizational business processes. In this paper, we summarize state of the art research trends in workflow management research area and identify conflict patterns for heterogeneous workflows. We believe that this is one of the first attempts to conceptualize conflict patterns that exist on inter-organizational business processes. This paper opens up a novel avenue for workflow management research by supplementing the existing conceptual frameworks for workflow management.

Since the ambitious declaration of the vision of the Semantic Web, a growing number of studies on semantic search have recently been made. However, we recognize that our community has not so much accomplished despite those efforts. We analyze two underlying problems : a lack of a shared notion of semantic search that guides current research, and a lack of a comprehensive view that envisions future work. Based on this diagnosis, we start by defining semantic search as the process of retrieving desired information in response to user’s input using semantic technologies such as ontologies. Then, we propose a classification framework in order for the community to obtain the better understanding of semantic search. The proposed classification framework consists of input processing, target source, search methodology, results ranking, and output data type. Last, we apply our proposed framework to prior studies and suggest future research directions.
