To be innovative, Small & Medium-sized Firms(SMFs) must cooperate with External Sources of Technology(EST). But each sources are so different in technological characteristics that SMFs have many difficulties in using these sources. And so, the research is needed on the relationship between SMFs and EST. This paper seeks specifically to respond to the following questions. (a) Under what circumstances do different kinds of external sources seem to fuction more effectively to SMFs, and what kinds of technological services are provided? (b) How useful each technological services provided by EST are to enforce SMF's technological capabilities supporting the technological supports, what benefits does SMFs. (c) In suing EST's technological supports, what benefits does SMF have, and what problems en- counter with? The overall objectives of the research is to identify characteristics of SMF-EST interactions, and methods of interaction which contribute to the successful technological performance of SMFs.

Although Factory Automation technology Plays an important role in firm's competitiveness, there are not many empirical studios being done on the subject of FA technology. And so this paper, analyzing the strategic effect of FA technology, is just in time. The research topics are: First, to analyze the direct effect of FA technology on the strategic performance factors, such as price, quality, delivery, flexibility. Second, to analyze: the interaction effect between strategic performance factors, in other words, the indirect effect of FA.

High technology based start-up companies should try to get the adequate managerial characteristics according to the growing stages. This article empirically studied venture firms in Daedeok Valley. Brief research findings are ; First, product concept testing is the critical factor which significantly affect on the business performance. Second, the experience background of entrepreneur determines the educational training needs. The more he gets public research institute background, the more he wants to learn basic business concepts rather than private sector. Third, most of them have technology oriented perspective rather than market oriented, so they have to change their perspective rapidly to make money. Forth, as the company grows, ti needs to change; and top mangement' role must evolve to match those changes from entrepreneur to CEO.

사출가공공정에서 설비생산성 향상을 위한 관리체계에 대한 연구

This study investigates application cases of facility management system model for enhancing facility productivity of industry filed around medium and small facility processing companies and finds the inefficiency of the existing management model. Following items are researched to seek out methods and measures to maximize facility productivity through empirical analysis by exploring and establishing a new management model. First, the empirical analysis, it is found that the overall equipment efficiency index used for facility productivity management in the companies has a difficulty being used as the index for it in actual medium-small processing companies. Second, a new facility management system model applying standard cycle time is suggested among facility management index system to measure facility productivity. Third, the empirical analysis is used to verify that developed facility management system model is a useful method to manage the facility productivity by applying the model to actual medium-small processing companies. Finally, it is necessary to implement comparison analysis on whether actual productivity enhancement induces a distinctly different result by using a new facility management index system model to be inhibited in this study.

태평양 전쟁 기간(1942-1945), 미국 할리우드 전쟁 영화에서 필리핀인의 이미지

This paper analyzed the image of Filipinos in war films in Hollywood produced and released during the Pacific War. And Comprehensive examine the image of Filipinos that the U.S. wanted to establish in relation to the Philippines, and to see what intentions and purposes of the U.S. worked. Before the Pacific War, in Hollywood films about the Philippines, the image of Filipinos largely followed the racial prejudice that had been entrenched from the early of the American colonial rule in the Philippines. The “Little Brown Brothers” was the image that best represented this American prejudice. Through this, the U.S. did not hide the fact that it did not regard Filipinos as equals, but put forward the legitimacy of U.S. dominance. The U.S. recognized the need for a change in perception of Filipinos in order to maintain Filipino loyalty and support for the U.S. and in response to the effor ts of Filipino immigrants in the context of the Pacific War, Through the Office of War Information, it intervened in Hollywood films and tried to show the positive side of Filipinos. The problem is that the appearance of Filipinos in the film is only a superficial change. The film implied that Filipinos still needed American tutelage. This was a decision that considered the relationship between the U.S. and the Philippines, which would become independent after the Pacific War. In fact, the change in the Filipino image in the film at the time was not related to the fundamental change in perception of the U.S. and Americans. Therefore, Filipinos in the U.S. were still to be taken care of, through this, the U.S. justified maintaining its influence or intervention in the post-independence Philippines. 본 논문은 태평양 전쟁 기간, 미국 할리우드 필리핀 관련 전쟁 영화에서 나타난필리핀인 이미지를 분석해, 필리핀과 관계에 있어 미국이 만들고자했던 필리핀인의이미지를 종합적으로 고찰해 미국의 어떤 의도와 목적이 작용했는지를 살펴보았다. 태평양 전쟁 이전, 할리우드 필리핀 관련 영화에서 필리핀인은 대체로 미국의필리핀 식민 지배 초기부터 고착되었던 인종적 편견을 그대로 답습한 모습이었다. ‘갈색 꼬마 형제들’이 바로 이런 미국인의 인식을 가장 잘 나타낸 이미지였다. 미국은 이를 통해 필리핀인을 자신들과 동등한 존재로 간주하지 않는다는 사실을 굳이숨기지 않으면서 미국의 지배 당위성을 내세웠다. 미국은 태평양 전쟁 상황에서 필리핀인의 미국에 대한 충성・지지 유지와 필리핀이민자들의 노력에 대한 호응으로 필리핀인에 대한 인식 변화 필요성을 인지했고, 전시정보국을 통해 할리우드 영화에 개입하여 필리핀인의 긍정적인 모습을 보여주려 했다. 문제는 영화 속 필리핀인의 모습이 단지 피상적인 변화라는 것이다. 영화는여전히 필리핀인에게 미국의 도움이 필요하다는 점을 암시했다. 이는 미국이 태평양전쟁 이후, 독립할 필리핀과의 관계가 고려된 결정이었다. 사실 당시 영화에서 필리핀인 이미지의 변화는 미국과 미국인의 본질적인 인식 변화와는 무관한 것이었다. 따라서 미국에 필리핀인은 여전히 돌봐야 할 존재였고, 이를 통해 미국은 독립 이후의 필리핀에 대한 자기 영향력 유지 또는 개입을 정당화했다.
